This includes SDSS and GIS architectures, VGI, spatial databases, spatial- temporal methods, as well as geovisual analytics technologies, which have a great potential to build risk map, estimate damaged areas, define evacuation routes, and plan resource distribution. Collaborative platforms like OSM have been also employed to support disaster management (e.g., near real-time mapping). Nevertheless, all these geospatial big data pose new challenges for not only geospatial data visualization, but also data modeling and analysis; existing technologies, methodologies, and approaches now have to deal with data shared in various formats, different velocities, and uncertainties. Furthermore, new issues have been also emerging in urban computing and smart cities for making communities more resilient against disasters. In line with this year’s conference theme, the GIS Track particularly welcomes submissions addressing aspects of individual-centric geospatial information in disaster risk and crisis research. This includes SDSS, near-real-time mapping, situational awareness, VGI, spatiotemporal modeling, urban computing, and other related aspects. We seek conceptual, theoretical, technological, methodological, empirical contributions, as well as research papers employing different methodologies, e.g., design- oriented research, case studies, and action research. These papers are assigned a 10-page limit. Short paper: Ongoing works with relevant preliminary results, open to discussion. These papers are assigned a 7-page limit. Poster paper: Initial work with relevant ideas, open to discussion. These papers are assigned to a 4-page limit. Therefore, the authors’ names, affiliations and bibliographic references should not be included in the version for evaluation by the Program Committee. All papers will be subjected to a “double-blind review” by at least two members of the Program Committee. Thus, full papers can be accepted as short papers or poster papers only. Similarly, short papers can be accepted as poster papers only. The authors of accepted poster papers should build and print a poster to be exhibited during the Conference. This poster must follow an A1 or A2 vertical format. The Conference includes Work Sessions where these posters are presented and orally discussed, with a 7 minute limit per poster. The authors of accepted Full papers will have 15 minutes to present their work in a Conference Work Session; approximately 5 minutes of discussion will follow each presentation. ICPP, the International Conference on Parallel Processing, provides a forum for engineers and scientists in academia, industry and government to exchange ideas and present results of on-going research in most state-of-the-art in all aspects of parallel and distributed computing. The Workshops Committee of ICPP 2020 welcomes proposals for half or full day workshops affiliated with the conference, on topics of interest to ICPP 2020 attendees. Daher ist sie curricularer Bestandteil zahlreicher informatiknaher Studiengänge. Bislang wird die Modellierung in der Hochschullehre überwiegend in klassischen Frontalveranstaltungen, wie z.B. Vorlesungen unterrichtet. Jedoch wird aus der Wissenschaftsforschung und Hochschuldidaktik in den letzten Jahrzehnten verstärkt ein Perspektivenwechsel von einer dozenten- zu einer studierendenzentrierten sowie einer kompetenzorientierten Lehre hin gefordert, die eine aktive Rolle der Studierenden und praktische Anwendung theoretischer Inhalte vorsieht. Ebenso gewinnt nicht zuletzt durch den Bologna-Prozess die Frage nach der Qualität von Hochschulabschlüssen und damit verbunden die faire, objektive und lernzielgerichtete Überprüfung studentischer Leistungen zunehmend an Bedeutung. Mit diesen Herausforderungen muss sich auch die Hochschullehre rund um das Thema Modellierung auseinandersetzen. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden für den Workshop Beiträge z.B. zu den folgenden Aspekten gesucht: *Unterrichten der Modellierung* ** * Lerninhalte, Lernziele * Kompetenzorientierung * Lernkonzepte * Innovative Unterrichtsmethoden * Fallbeispiele, Teaching Cases * Lessons Learned, Best Practices *Prüfungen zur Modellierung und Bewerten von Modellierungsaufgaben* ** * Prüfungsaufgaben, Leistungskontrolle * Bewertungsschemata für studentische Modelle * eAssessments (formativ oder summativ) * Werkzeuge mit Modellierungsunterstützung (Feedback-Kopplung) Für den im Jahr 2020 stattfindenden Workshop wird der *Themenschwerpunkt „Digitalisierung“* festgelegt. Im Rahmen zukünftiger digitalisierter Lehr- und Lernprozesse entstehen zahlreiche interessante und innovative Ansätze für das Unterrichten und das Prüfen der Modellierung in der Hochschullehre. Diese sollen auf dem Workshop in einer Schwerpunkt-Session der Community präsentiert werden können. Für die weiteren Sessions sind jedoch auch Beiträge, die diesen Themenschwerpunkt nicht berühren, ausdrücklich erwünscht. Die *Zielgruppe für den Workshop* umfasst alle an der Modellierung in der Hochschullehre interessierten und beteiligten Personen. Insbesondere werden unterschiedliche Perspektiven von Studierenden, Dozenten und Tutoren gesucht. Darüber hinaus ist auch die Meinung von Personen aus der Praxis gefragt, die wertvolle Hinweise zu wünschenswerten Lernzielen und zur Praxisrelevanz des üblicherweise zur Modellierung gelehrten Stoffes liefern können. Daher sind neben didaktischen Konzepten und wissenschaftlichen Untersuchungen ausdrücklich auch Beiträge erwünscht, die Erfahrungswerte aus der (Hochschul-)Praxis liefern oder Ideen und Anregungen für zukünftige Entwicklungen vorstellen. Ebenso sind Zusammenfassungen von thematisch verwandten Beiträgen, die bereits an anderer Stelle veröffentlicht worden sind (submission of resubmissions), gerne gesehen. Insgesamt sollen mit dem Workshop Austausch und Diskussion über das Thema Modellierung in der Hochschullehre angeregt werden, um zukünftigen Weiterentwicklungsbedarf und relevante Forschungsschwerpunkte zu identifizieren. With the advanced development of IT in a digitizing world, humans constantly adjust to the latest technological circumstances and adapt their routines and habits accordingly. Similarly, system designers need to build on a profound theoretical and methodological knowledge base for the design, implementation, and evaluation of novel artefacts in a highly competitive and dynamic market environment. The interdisciplinary area of design research in Information Systems is concerned with informing the design of IT artefacts by establishing and applying comprehensive (design) theories, exploring and testing models with rigorous research, providing validated evaluation methods and design guidelines, as well as designing and evaluating IT artefacts. In information systems, scholars can follow different approaches when engaging in design-oriented research. Firstly, researchers can engage in artefact creation following design science research (DSR). Here, the focus is to identify and understand an important real-world problem and provide a solution for it by building and evaluating artefacts. Researchers thereby can contribute with theory-grounded and artefact-centric design knowledge to the scientific knowledge base. Secondly, researchers can engage in understanding and investigating specific design elements of an information system by conducting empirical research, both qualitatively and quantitatively (e.g., interviews, laboratory experiments, surveys). By doing so, researchers can also contribute valuable design knowledge. The aim of this track is to stimulate research that extends the scientific knowledge base for design research in information systems in general and for a digitizing world in particular. We thereby seek research that produces novel design knowledge about IT artefacts for addressing real-world problems (e.g., data-driven design, digital assistants, socially influencing systems), methodological contributions for the design of such systems (e.g., cross-disciplinary research, participatory-design, user experience engineering), as well as research addressing the implications of specific design elements of information systems (e.g. flow, privacy). In particular, the PDW is aimed at examining the transformation processes and mechanisms involved in digital innovation and shedding more light on what is unique about the novel phenomenon of digital transformation - compared to IT function-driven and enterprise systems-enabled organizational transformations of the past - across multiple levels of analysis, including individual, organization, and society. Studying the interrelation between digital innovation and digital transformation is pertinent, since successive waves of digital innovation within an industry or at the level of an individual firm and its ecosystem may lead up to fundamental transformation of structures, roles and management (Tumbas et al. 2018), culture, competencies and skills, and so forth, depending on the influence of barriers such as inertia and resistance to change (Vial 2019). New phenomena, such as the democratization of innovation processes (Huang et al. 2017) and consumerization (Gregory et al. 2018), put large established firms under significant pressure to transform their legacy systems and organizational structures, and reinvent their models and approaches to value creation and capture (Bharadwaj et al. 2013; Sebastian et al. 2017). Thus, expanding the research agenda on digital innovation to focus as well on digital transformation has recently been identified as a key concern for the information systems field (Hinings et al. 2018; Vial 2019). To address this topic, this PDW is organized to attract scholars with interest in exploring and debating the interrelated domains of digital innovation and transformation. Format: The Professional Development Workshop will consist of two parts. In the first part of the workshop, there will be three short keynote presentations. I · Ola Henfridsson will provide an introduction and overview over research on digital innovation. · Nicholas Berente will provide an introduction and overview over research on digital transformation. · Andrew Burton-Jones will focus on the methodological and theoretical challenges in conducting research on digital innovation and/or digital transformation.
