-----------CALL FOR PAPERS--------------
5th International Conference on Internet of Things, Big Data and Security
Submission Deadline: December 13, 2019
http://www.iotbds.org
May 07 - 09, 2020
Prague, Czech Republic
----------------------------------------
The internet of things (IoT) is a platform that allows a network of devices
(sensors, smart meters, etc.) to communicate, analyse data and process
information collaboratively in the service of individuals or
organisations. The
IoT network can generate large amounts of data in a variety of formats and
using different protocols which can be stored and processed in the
cloud. The
conference looks to address the issues surrounding IoT devices, their
interconnectedness and services they may offer, including efficient,
effective
and secure analysis of the data IoT produces using machine learning and
other
advanced techniques, models and tools, and issues of security, privacy and
trust that will emerge as IoT technologies mature and become part of our
everyday lives.
Big Data (BD) has core values of volume, velocity, variety and veracity.
After
collecting much data from IoT, BD can be jointly used with machine learning,
AI, statistical and other advanced techniques, models and methods, which can
create values for people and organizations adopting it, since
forecasting, deep
analysis and analytics can help identify weaknesses and make
improvements based
on different analysis.
Maintaining a high level of security and privacy for data in IoT are crucial
and we welcome recommendations, solutions, demonstrations and best practices
for all forms of security and privacy for IoT and BD.
IoTBDS is organized in 7 major tracks:
1 - Big Data Research

2nd Call for Papers - 14th International Workshop on Value Modelling and
Business Ontologies - VMBO 2020
January 16-17, 2020, Brussels, Belgium
Submission deadline: November 24, 2019
Website: https://vmbo2020.ugent.be/
***************************************************************************************************************************
Welcome:
It is our pleasure to invite you to submit a paper to the 14th
International Workshop on Value Modelling and
Business Ontologies (VMBO 2020) on January 16th to 17th, 2020. This
workshop will be held in the Université
Saint-Louis in Brussels, Belgium.
The importance of modeling the essence of enterprises on a level that
abstracts from operational details is
increasingly recognized. Two established enterprise modeling approaches
are value modeling and business
ontology. Business ontology provides abstract descriptions of
enterprises in their business context, focusing
on what is needed to create and transfer value. Value modeling is a
business modeling approach that focuses
on the value objects exchanged in business networks. Business ontology
and value modeling research is
conducted using instruments like REA (Resources, Events, Agents), the
Business Model Canvas, the e3value
tool set, VDML and the Enterprise Engineering framework.
The goals of the VMBO workshop series are to bring together researchers
with an interest in value modeling
and business ontology in order to present and discuss the current state
of enterprise or business modeling
and to identify key areas for further research, including, specifically
but not exclusively, innovative business
model design, service design, systemic trust for value exchanges,
ontologies for modelling economic concepts
and institutions, and value-aware systems design.
Important dates:
* Paper submission: November 24, 2019
* Notification of acceptance: December 8, 2019
* VMBO 2020: January 16-17, 2020
Instructions for submissions:
If you are interested in joining, please submit a paper in the following
categories:
* Full paper (maximum of eight pages): describes original research
contributions, presents problems or
challenges encountered in practice or reports on industrial cases and

encourage you to focus on ideas in
progress for which you would like to get feedback from other workshop
participants.
If wanted, the accepted papers can be published with CEUR online
proceedings.
We support the submission of VMBO papers afterwards to a special issue
of a journal, e.g. Journal of Applied
Ontology (JAO) or Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting (JETA),
if possible. Note that submitted papers
will be reviewed only marginally. The program committee will use the
papers to put together a final program; the
aim is to accommodate all relevant papers with sufficient quality.

28th European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2020)
June 15th - 17th 2020 / Marrakech, Morocco (http://ecis2020.eu/)
Track "Design Research in Information
Systems" (https://ecis2020.ma/ecis-2020-tracks/)
##########################################################################
## Track Description ##
Interacting with information technology (IT) has become a pervasive
element in
private and business life. With the advanced development of IT in a
digitizing
world, humans constantly adjust to the latest technological
circumstances and
adapt their routines and habits accordingly. Similarly, system designers
need
to build on a profound theoretical and methodological knowledge base for the
design, implementation, and evaluation of novel artefacts in a highly
competitive and dynamic market environment. The interdisciplinary area of
design research in Information Systems is concerned with informing the
design
of IT artefacts by establishing and applying comprehensive (design)
theories,
exploring and testing models with rigorous research, providing validated
evaluation methods and design guidelines, as well as designing and
evaluating
IT artefacts.
In information systems, scholars can follow different approaches when
engaging
in design-oriented research. Firstly, researchers can engage in artefact
creation following design science research (DSR). Here, the focus is to
identify and understand an important real-world problem and provide a
solution
for it by building and evaluating artefacts. Researchers thereby can
contribute with theory-grounded and artefact-centric design knowledge to the
scientific knowledge base. Secondly, researchers can engage in understanding
and investigating specific design elements of an information system by
conducting empirical research, both qualitatively and quantitatively (e.g.,
interviews, laboratory experiments, surveys). By doing so, researchers can
also contribute valuable design knowledge.
The aim of this track is to stimulate research that extends the scientific
knowledge base for design research in information systems in general and
for a
digitizing world in particular. We thereby seek research that produces novel
design knowledge about IT artefacts for addressing real-world problems
(e.g.,
data-driven design, digital assistants, socially influencing systems),
methodological contributions for the design of such systems (e.g., cross-
disciplinary research, participatory-design, user experience

(THCI) ##
High quality and relevant papers from this track will be considered for
selection for fast-tracked development towards publication in AIS
Transactions
on Human-Computer Interaction (http://aisel.aisnet.org/thci/). Selected
papers
will need to expand in content and length in line with the requirements for
standard research articles published in the journal. Although the track co-
chairs are committed to guiding the selected papers towards final
publication,
further reviews may be needed before final publication decision can be made.
AIS Transaction on Human-Computer Interaction (THCI) is a high-quality peer-
reviewed international scholarly journal on Human-Computer Interaction. THCI
is oriented to the Information Systems community, emphasizing
applications in
business, managerial, organizational, and cultural contexts. However, it is
open to all related communities that share intellectual interests in HCI
phenomena and issues.

## Track Description ##
Interacting with information technology (IT) has become a pervasive
element in private and business life. With the advanced development of
IT in a digitizing world, humans constantly adjust to the latest
technological circumstances and adapt their routines and habits
accordingly. Similarly, system designers need to build on a profound
theoretical and methodological knowledge base for the design,
implementation, and evaluation of novel artefacts in a highly
competitive and dynamic market environment. The interdisciplinary area
of design research in Information Systems is concerned with informing
the design of IT artefacts by establishing and applying comprehensive
(design) theories, exploring and testing models with rigorous research,
providing validated evaluation methods and design guidelines, as well as
designing and evaluating IT artefacts.
In information systems, scholars can follow different approaches when
engaging in design-oriented research. Firstly, researchers can engage in
artefact creation following design science research (DSR). Here, the
focus is to identify and understand an important real-world problem and
provide a solution for it by building and evaluating artefacts.
Researchers thereby can contribute with theory-grounded and
artefact-centric design knowledge to the scientific knowledge base.
Secondly, researchers can engage in understanding and investigating
specific design elements of an information system by conducting
empirical research, both qualitatively and quantitatively (e.g.,
interviews, laboratory experiments, surveys). By doing so, researchers
can also contribute valuable design knowledge.
The aim of this track is to stimulate research that extends the
scientific knowledge base for design research in information systems in
general and for a digitizing world in particular. We thereby seek
research that produces novel design knowledge about IT artefacts for
addressing real-world problems (e.g., data-driven design, digital
assistants, socially influencing systems), methodological contributions
for the design of such systems (e.g., cross-disciplinary research,
participatory-design, user experience engineering), as well as research
addressing the implications of specific design elements of information
systems (e.g. flow, privacy). We welcome a diversity of submissions
focusing on designing, developing, and evaluating IT artefacts, adding
to the theoretical and methodological knowledge base about design
research in information systems and the role of design research in
problem domains, and exploring tool support for design science research.
