For the past 24 years, professors, students, and researchers from all
over the world have come together at our conferences to present research
and engage in interdisciplinary discussion. It is this interdisciplinary
focus that allows our attendees to discover new viewpoints they
otherwise would not have discovered in a uni-disciplinary conference.
These new viewpoints become intellectual seeds which, as they slowly
bloom over time, expand their understanding of their own respective
disciplines.
Many of our participants look forward to our conferences every year as
they allow them to publish their papers, share their life's work, create
a network of influential and like-minded colleagues, and expand their
ever-growing understanding of their respective disciplines, as well as
learn about new disciplines. Some testimonials can be read clicking on
the button "TESTIMONIALS" placed at the top of the left column of each
of the conference web sites.
We hope to continue creating and expanding inter-disciplinary networks
while facilitating the ever-growing expansion of each individual
discipline represented at our conferences. We know this is only possible
with contributions from people such as yourself. It is for this reason
that we would greatly appreciate your contribution to the conference.
You are also welcome to forward this message to any appropriate
colleagues and/or groups whose contributions would further promote the
interdisciplinary growth of all the various disciplines represented in
our conferences.
Thank you for your time, and we look forward to your contribution.
Respectfully,
ICETI 2020 Organizing Committee

Internet beyond cyberspace to the location-aware (or geospatial) Internet
of Things (IoT). They enable connections among objects whether they are
fixed or moving, helping cooperation of these objects and the analysis of
their mobility patterns in space and time. While locational technologies
can create value, the very success of these technologies also raises issues
related to the use of spatial data, such as privacy and trust.
Manuscripts are solicited focusing on conceptual model, theory,
methodology, applications, behavioral studies, and case studies with regard
to emerging opportunities and issues in location analytics, location-aware
IoT, or GIS, and its applications in social media, and its roles in the
innovation ecosystems are welcome in the following areas:

Call for papers
Special Issue: Industry experiences of Artificial Intelligence (AI):
benefits and challenges in operations and supply chain management
Submission Deadline: November 30, 2019
Guest Editors
Professor Samuel Fosso Wamba, Toulouse Business School, France
Dr Maciel M. Queiroz, University of São Paulo, Brazil
Professor Ashley Braganza, Brunel Business School, UK
Dr Cameron Guthrie, Toulouse Business School, France
Recent cutting-edge technologies such as big data analytics, internet of
things (IoT), smart factories and artificial intelligence (AI) are
transforming the way people acquire and consume goods, firms manufacture
and deliver produce, and logistics networks and society interact (Bibby
& Dehe, 2018; Gölzer & Fritzsche, 2017). Together, these new concepts
and technologies are said to usher in a Fourth Industrial Revolution
(Schwab, 2017), or Industry 4.0 (Fatorachian & Kazemi, 2018). Business
models and logistics production systems need to adapt to the new
dynamics of production and consumption.
The ubiquity of smartphones and apps is drastically changing the
customer experience and expectations, allowing individuals to
participate in various stages of the production process. For example,
the combination of digital manufacturing, mobile and augmented reality
technologies allow customers to provide feedback in a co-creation
process (Mourtzis, Gargallis, & Zogopoulos, 2019), while IoT, sensors
and data analytics enable the continuous collection of usage data
throughout the entire product lifecycle. These new modes of relationship
are already impacting the work of operations and supply chain managers.
One of the most promising technologies for contemporary operations and
supply chain management (OSCM) is artificial intelligence. AI emerged in
the 1960s as "the science of making machines do things that would
require intelligence if done by men" (Minsky, 1968). Today, a new
generation of AI is being used to work on a vast array of issues
including product recommendations and customisation, dynamic pricing,
real-time production tracking, prevention of order shipment delays and
inventory shortages, customer feedback collection for product
development and supplier monitoring to minimise procurement costs (Syam
& Sharma, 2018). In addition, a subset of AI known as machine learning
is developing methods, (e.g. regression analysis, specific algorithms)
and associated technologies (e.g. sensors, APIs) that allow computer
systems to "learn" using historical data and act without human intervention.
AI can also potentially be combined with Industry 4.0 cutting-edge
technologies, such as big data analytics, blockchain, internet of things
and cyber-physical systems. The use of AI "in supply chain ecosystems
[...] in combination with human behaviour will create a new degree of
intelligence, innovation, and collaboration" in organizations (Bienhaus
& Haddud, 2018). Today's operations and supply chain managers need to
gain a better understanding about how AI can be applied to OSCM problems.
The use of AI applications within an OSCM context presents considerable
managerial and organizational challenges. For example, in the adoption
stage managers need to identify the requisite capabilities and potential
obstacles to successful AI implementation. The potential impact of AI on
operations management, production planning and control, productivity and
performance also need to be investigated. Managers need to understand
how AI initiatives affect the interplay of business, logistics and
production systems at individual, organisational and supply chain
levels. For example, AI can support individual worker's activities by
performing repetitive tasks: AI commanded robots can audit manufacturing
processes; robots can minimize the idleness of production systems when
integrated with customers and suppliers; and AI can be used for
predictive maintenance when combined with IoT and machine learning.
Behind each opportunity lies a challenge for managers to successfully
capture the benefits from AI. Little is known for instance about the
contribution of AI driven robots to production systems. From an
operations management perspective, a major challenge is how to use AI to
gain insights for demand forecasting and production planning.
More research is required into: strategies of AI use within
organizations for existing OSCM problems (e.g. production planning and
control, demand forecasting, operations management optimisation,
distribution management); the impact of AI on production processes
throughout the value chain; the drivers, enablers and obstacles to AI
adoption and use; the development of new business models; and into the
implications of AI for operations management practice.
This special issue aims to explore the role of AI in OSCM, and
especially how AI creates value in a digital age when combined with
other Industry 4.0 cutting-edge technologies. Our objective is to
stimulate research and debate both around how managers are using or
could use AI to improve OSCM practice and performance, and create
competitive advantage, as well as the enablers and inhibitors to
adoption, integration and use. This special issue invites scholars,
managers and practitioners to use case studies or other empirical
methods to report in-depth on AI applications in operations and supply
chain management.
This special issue calls for contributions to:
* In-depth cases reporting on AI technology implementation challenges
and benchmarks in operations and SCM;
* Case studies reporting AI adoption in logistics and production
systems. What are the facilitators and barriers?
* The impact and benefits provided by AI technologies in operations and SCM;
* Case studies reporting on the organisational capabilities (management,
technological) required to support successful AI project implementation;
* Productivity and performance improvements in production planning and
control through AI;
* How can managers use AI applications to capture benefits, efficiency,
productivity and value using customer product feedback?
* How can robots in manufacturing and logistics activities be employed
to improve productivity and performance? What is the role of robots in a
production system?
* Novel conceptual models and ways of theorising about AI, operations
and SCM;
* Are extant theories sufficient to explain the adoption and spread of
AI or what new theories are required for AI in OSCM?
* The link between AI and the innovation improvement capacity of an
organisation's logistics and production systems;
* The contribution of AI to knowledge and learning in logistics and
production systems;
* Barriers and benefits related to the integration of AI technologies
across the supply chain;
* How is AI impacting the decision-making process in logistics and
production systems? What are the consequences for the management
learning and knowledge?
* Frameworks to explain AI implementation in operations and SCM contexts;
* Frameworks and case studies to explain the adoption and use of AI
combined with other cutting-edge technologies in operations and SCM
contexts;
· The effects of AI on business models. How are business models changing
with the adoption of AI and related technologies? What changes do new
business models bring to operations management?
· The critical success factors in AI diffusion stages in operations and SCM.
Papers concerning these and other related critical issues in operations
and supply chain challenges are encouraged. The special issue aims to
sharpen the focus on, and raise the awareness of these critical issues,
especially those facing developing economies as well as advanced
industrial economies, and to promote research, both theoretical and
empirical, on specific digitalisation related problems and innovative
practices to address these problems.

(apologies for any cross-posting)
Dear all,
This is the *last call* for contributions to the journal track of the
ECSCW 2020. If you want to *avail of **anopportunityto present your
paper at ECSCW 2020*, we highly recommend that you *submit your *
*contribution within the next two weeks*.
The journal track of the conference is *continuously receiving
submission*, however, in order for a paper to be presented in ECSCW
2020, it must be send to production in April 2020 the latest.
This has some important implications for the submission and review
process, as clarified in the call for paper below.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us!
We are looking forward toyour contributions!
Kind regards,
Fabiano, Antonella & Thomas
ECSCW 2020 Programme Editors
=== CALL FOR PAPERS ===
ECSCW 2020, The 18^th European Conference on Computer-Supported
Cooperative Work
Siegen (Germany), June 13 – 17, 2020
https://ecscw.eusset.eu/2020/
For 30 years, the ECSCW conference has served as a major international
venue for defining and further developing the agenda for CSCW research,
which has been focusing on the understanding of cooperative work
practices and investigation of the mediational role of computer
technology in it. The conference has a longstanding interest in
empirical, conceptual, theoretical and technical contributions, and has
a tradition of innovation and inclusiveness.
ECSCW 2020 will take place in Siegen, Germany, from June 13-17, 2020
(seehttps://ecscw.eusset.eu/2020/). The themes of the conference
include, but are not limited to:
* Empirical investigations of collaborative practices. Findings,
guidelines, and/or studies related to communication, collaboration,
and social technologies, practices, or use.
* System design focusing on solutions to support cooperative work in
increasingly complex, networked settings.
* Hardware, architectures, infrastructures, interaction design,
technical foundations, algorithms, and/or toolkits that enable the
building of new social and collaborative systems and experiences.
* Methodologies and tools for investigating human practices: the
nature of ethnography and the role of other innovative research
approaches in building systems or studying their use, the
application of design fictions to investigate future possibilities.
* Critical analysis or theory with clear relevance to study or design
of collaborative settings and systems.
* Domain-specific social and collaborative applications, including
applications to digital civics, grassroots movements, healthcare,
transportation, ICT4D, sustainability, education, accessibility,
global collaboration, or other domains.
* Analysis of the ethics and policy implications of socio-technical
systems, the values that inform them, and the algorithms that shape
them.
* Studies, prototypes, or other investigations that explore
interactions across disciplines, distance, languages, generations,
and cultures, to help understand how to transcend social, temporal,
and/or spatial boundaries.
* Discussions and extrapolations of work-practices and technologies,
which contribute to the core topics of ECSCW
ECSCW is a single-track conference that contributes to developing an
interdisciplinary and global community, supported by EUSSET, the
European Society for Socially Embedded Technologies
(https://www.eusset.eu/). The conference format facilitates critical
discussion across disciplinary and national borders in the field. An
overview of earlier ECSCW conferences (and proceedings) is available at
https://www.eusset.eu/events/ecscw/.
Similar to previous ECSCW conferences, ECSCW 2020 will feature different
types of publications – Journal Papers, Exploratory Papers, Poster and
Demos, among others. Each publication type will have a separate call for
submissions given the differences in the review process.
This call targets the Journal Papers documenting original, rich, and
in-depth contributions to CSCW. Submitted papers will follow a standard
journal review process and accepted submissions will be published
in/Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW): The Journal of
Collaborative Computing and Work Practices/, the most prestigious
Journal of CSCW research.
Upon acceptance of the paper to the Journal, authors are expected to
present their work at the conference.
**
*Important information about the review process:*
For the first time, submissions to the journal-track of the ECSCW
conference will undergo a fully-integrated review process which will be
continuous. Reviews and resubmissions will therefore not be restricted
to two rounds, as it was the case in the past. Rather, the new
submission and review process will allow authors to develop and refine
stronger papers over a longer time period (as soon as the authors submit
early enough). The review process is single-blind, as has been since
ECSCW implemented a journal-track.
Authors are encouraged to submit as soon as they have their manuscripts
ready. Early submissions will allow for multiple Revise & Resubmit
cycles (if necessary) and will generally result into earlier publication
of the accepted manuscript in the Journal. As soon as a manuscript has
been accepted for publication, it will go to production, and when
production has finished (including proof corrections), it will be
published on Springer Online First, complete with DOI.
*Important dates:*
**
*May 15, 2019*: The system opens for submissions
*July, 2019 – February 2020:*Revise & Resubmission/Early accepts
*March 15, 2020:*Acceptance cut-off date for ECSCW 2020
*April 12, 2020:*Deadline for the production-ready version of all accept
papers
*June 13-17, 2020:*ECSCW Conference in Siegen
To be considered for publication and presentation at ECSCW 2020,
papers*must/at least/*reach the status/Accepted but incomplete/by*March
15, 2020*. This status differs from a/Minor revisions/recommendation.
The former refers to papers which require only minor formatting
amendments, while the latter refers to papers which still require some
minor structural or conceptual changes.
If the paper does not reach the/Accepted but incomplete/status by March
15, 2020, it will automatically be transferred to the batch of
submissions for the subsequent ECSCW conference, unless the submission
is withdrawn. With this approach, the authors will not have to restart
the submission process and all work completed to this point will be
considered for the next chapter of the conference. This also means that
authors may get their papers accepted shortly after the ECSCW 2020
conference. If this happens, the paper will be published as an Online
First manuscript as soon as it goes through the production process and
its presentation will be expected at ECSCW 2021.
The production-ready version of the papers that reach the/Accepted but
incomplete/status by March 15, 2020*must*be submitted by the April 12,
2020 to be included for presentation at the ECSCW 2020.
After submitting their articles for production, authors may be required
to make additional revisions, according to the publication standards of
the Journal.
*Submission format:*
Paper submissions should be formatted following the CSCW Journal
Instructions for Authors available
at:https://www.springer.com/computer/journal/10606. The length of the
paper*must*correspond to the size of the contribution.
*Submission process:*
Manuscripts must be submitted at the
link:https://www.editorialmanager.com/cosu. When submitting, please
select*/ECSCW Contribution/*as the article type and follow the
submission steps until the final manuscript upload.
For any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the ECSCW 2020
Programme Editors at**papers(a)ecscw.eusset.org

Subject: [AISWorld] CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS: Cross-Border E-Commerce
Marketing and Management

CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS
Cross-Border E-Commerce Marketing and Management
Edited by Md. Rakibul Hoque & Ed Bashaw
(Emporia State University, USA)
To be published by IGI-Global in 2020
Proposals Submission Deadline: November 15, 2019
Introduction
With the advancement in globalization, the internet connectivity,
international payment system, logistics and shipping process, the
cross-border e-Commerce industry has been thriving fast since the
establishment of China based e-Commerce site knows as Alibaba.com in 1999.
The most common reason that the consumers purchase from cross-border
e-Commerce sites is that unavailability of specific products and services
in their home countries. About 67% of the global consumers reported that
they purchase from foreign online vendors on the e-Commerce sites because
of having lower price outside their country. And while comparing the
cross-border purchase of tangible goods and services, the report shows that
about 12% and 50% of the global purchases occur on the e-commerce
platforms.
This book would bring the perspectives, issues, reviews and case studies
that are contemporary and specific to cross-border e-Commerce industry. In
this process, the book proposes for incorporating the chapters that would
enhance knowledge of the stakeholders of cross-border e-Commerce. The book
would start with providing an overview of the inception of the cross-border
e-Commerce industry and its future. As the regulations, policies, taxation
system, degree of technology integration, law and logistic frameworks vary
from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, this book would cover their impacts on
the cross-border e-Commerce consumers’ motive, suppliers, pricing, custom
clearance, and marketing strategies. Moreover, the existing theoretical
studies on the cross-border e-Commerce would be reviewed. Furthermore, the
framework and facilities needed for developing a digital logistic system
would be discussed. This book would also provide a guideline on how to
launch a cross-border business and conduct digital marketing targeting the
international online consumers and finally end with some case studies on
how the artificial intelligence, drop-shipping idea and the mega project
like One Belt and One Road initiative by China are facilitating the growth
of cross-border e-Commerce industry.
