# About iWAPT
iWAPT (International Workshop on Automatic Performance Tuning) is a series
of workshops that focus on research and techniques that address performance
sustainability issues. It provides an opportunity for researchers and users
of automatic performance tuning (AT) technologies to exchange ideas and
experiences while applying such technologies to improve the performance of
algorithms, libraries, and applications; in particular, on cutting edge
computing platforms. The full-day workshops consist of invited keynote
speaker presentations and 30-minute presentations of well-founded papers.
Occasionally, exploratory papers are also accepted. Topics of interest
include performance modeling, adaptive algorithms, autotuned numerical
algorithms, libraries and scientific applications, empirical compilation,
automated code generation, frameworks and theories of AT and software
optimization, autonomic computing, and context-aware computing.
We are particularly interested in autotuning and its relationship to the
following areas (the list is not exhaustive):
* Machine-adaptive algorithms
* Automatic program generation

===========================================
*Overview*
-----------------------------------------------------------
The aim of this special issue is to bring together a number of
high-quality papers that contribute to help us to better understand and
improve ageing (and living) with digital technologies at the beginning
of the 21st century.
A growing ageing population is changing the world, with important
implications for almost all sectors of society, wherein communication,
production and exchange of information are of the utmost importance.
Information and Communication Technologies are widely regarded as those
technologies that make this communication, production and exchange of
information possible. However, there are reasons to argue that
revolutionary changes in digital technologies, demography and longevity
have not evolved well together.
Much of today’s research is based on the assumption that people aged 60+
are old. But what if our older users do not regard themselves as old?
The dimensions of ageing that tend to play a central role in studying
the relationship between older people and ICTs, and in designing these
technologies for this group, are narrowed down to age-related changes in
functional abilities and shrinking social networks; yet, ageing is far
richer and complex. The main taken-for-granted role of ICTs in the
everyday lives of older people is to ‘help them do something’. However,
in light of the presence of digital technologies in multiple facets of
the lives of most of us, there is room for thinking that the role that
ICTs play in older people’s lives can and should go beyond helping them
to improve their health, age in place and keep in touch with their
children and grandchildren. How can we design ICTs that truly enrich
older people’s lives? In addition to this, current research has mainly
been conducted with people who were born in the first half of the 20th
century. How will this body of knowledge change when we work with older
people who have grown up with digital technologies?
As scholars, we should recognize that we still know little about (i)
what computers, smartphones, video-sharing sites, smart cities, social
robots, and so on mean for an eighty-year old person; (ii) how we should
design these and other technologies for the current and next generation
of older people, and, perhaps more importantly, (iii) how ICTs can
provide new understandings of and improve ageing – a contribution, not a
burden to ourselves, our families and society – in a digital area.
This special issue aims to address these and other critical related
issues / open questions by bringing together research on ageing and
digital technologies conducted in several areas, such as Human-Computer
Interaction, Digital Games, Media Studies, Gerontology, Psychology and
Sociology of Ageing.
-----------------------------------------------------------
*Topics of Interest*
-----------------------------------------------------------
We invite contributions on topics including but not limited to:
• Conceptualizing old age and older people in digital technology design
in the 21st century
• Datafication, Big Data, and ageing / older people
• Designing technologies for baby boomers: designing for the next
generation of older people and co-design / participatory approaches
• Digital technology appropriation by older people
• Intergenerational creative learning and digital making
• Older people, social and digital inclusion
• Technology acceptance beyond perception of usefulness and ease-of-use

CALL FOR PAPERS: AMCIS 2018

TRACK
Organizational Transformation and Information Systems
TRACK DESCRIPTION
Digital technologies are often ascribed potentials to disrupt existing status-quo. Designing and organizing for the resulting digital disruption holds opportunities for the digital transformation of aspiring disrupters and threatened incumbents. This mini-track is interested in both perspectives and welcomes both empirical and conceptual studies. Emerging IS research shows that creating or responding to digital disruption requires substantive strategic and organizational reactions. For example, what are the mechanisms for digital disruption? How should firms organize during disruption? These are but a few questions that are relevant for this mini track. Furthermore, design science as well as action (design) research are instrumental to advancing prescriptive knowledge relevant to practitioners. For example, digital technologies in the context of the sharing economy and the Internet of Things not only draw on information technology, they also demand novel designs of business models to
be disruptive. We seek theoretical contributions that help us better understand these phenomena as well as practice oriented knowledge and design artifacts for dealing with or leveraging digital disruption.

Information Security and Privacy track of the 2018 AMCIS conference, which
will take place on 16-18 August, 2018 in New Orleans, LA.
Track: Information Security and Privacy (SIGSEC)
Minitrack: Moving Beyond Traditional Constructs in Information Security
Research
Employees are organizations' core assets that interact with Information
Systems (IS) in order to perform their tasks; however numerous studies have
reported that employees noncompliance of IS security policies is the main
cause of security breaches within organizations. Over the last decade, the
IS research community has contributed substantial research in order to
understand the causes underlying IS security noncompliance. Most of this
research draws upon the General Deterrence (GDT) and Planned Behavior (PBT)
theories to explain the behavior that motivates IS security compliance. Even
though the existing research has significantly contributed to the
understanding of the phenomenon of IS security noncompliance, several
studies have reported non-convergent findings. The purpose of this
mini-track is to provide a forum to present and discuss theoretical models,
methodologies, and empirical cases concerning employees' behaviors and
noncompliance with IS security policies.
This mini-track aims to investigate new theories and constructs that have
not been explored in IS security compliance literature. Therefore, we invite
innovative papers that explore new constructs and theories that address a
variety of issues pertaining employees' behaviors towards IS security in
organizations. The goal is to advance our understanding of the IS security
noncompliance phenomenon. Cross-cultural studies or comparative studies
highlighting differences and similarities regarding employees' behaviors
with IS security in emerging and developing countries are also welcome.
Papers must be submitted through the conference website:
