Business social networking is a facilitator of several business
activities, such as market studies, communication with clients, and
identification of business partners. This paper traduces the results of
a study undertaken with the purpose of getting to know how the potential
of networking is perceived in the promotion of business by participants
of the LinkedIn network, and presents two main contributions: (1) to
disseminate within the business community which is the relevance given
to social networking; and (2) which are the social networks best
suitable to the promotion of business, to support the definition of
strategies and approaches accordingly. The results confirm that LinkedIn
is the most suitable network to answer the needs of those that look for
professional contacts and for the promotion of business, while
innovation is the most recognized factor in the promotion of business
through social networking. This study contributes to a better
understanding of the potential of different business social networking
sites, to support organizations and professionals to align their
strategies with the perceived potential of each network.

*A Conceptual Model of SOA-Enabled Business Process and its Empirical Study*
Serdal Bayram (Siemens Turkey, Turkey), Özalp Vayvay (Marmara University
Göztepe Campus, Turkey), and Süleyman Serdar Yörük (Marmara University
Göztepe Campus, Turkey)
In today's strong competitive environment, business processes that
answer customer needs are required to be flexible and agile so as not to
miss business opportunities and to adopt new market requirements and new
trends easily so business activity monitoring is becoming more crucial
for enterprises. Although obstacles of the mass of hybrid and complex
distributed systems make it an effortful issue, SOA researchers
investigate solutions to eliminate them. This study proposes a
conceptual model for SOA-enabled business process frameworks to identify
components of such systems. The model consists of entities and their
relationships represented by UML. The proposed model was tested in an
international company where its business processes are well-defined and
IT is seen as an important necessity for their implementation.

Activity*
Alexander Alfimtsev (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia),
Sergey Sakulin (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia), and
Vladimir Devyatkov (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia)
This article addresses Web personalization based on the analysis of
individual user activity. However, human behavior is characterized by
uncertainties that should be considered in the personalization
algorithms. Fuzzy logic allows taking into account different types of
uncertainty. Therefore, the paper presents a method for Web
personalization based on fuzzy aggregation and recognition of user
activity. The advantages of this approach are (1) the ability to use two
types of fuzzy integrals without using the necessary expert set of fuzzy
measures and (2) covering all stages of the personalization from
aggregation of a single user's query parameters to aggregation of an
individual user's profiles in a single parameter of group of users.

Recently, Semantic Annotations for WSDL (SAWSDL) standard emerged as a
W3C recommendation to add semantics to WSDL components. SAWSDL annotates
WSDL components with different semantics in order to automate Web
service tasks, such as service discovery, composition, mediation, and
invocation. In fact, certain service task requires a specific service
semantic that semantically describes the service. As a result, several
tools and techniques have emerged to allow users to get maximum
advantage of semantic Web service by implementing SAWSDL. This paper
analyzes SAWSDL standard. The relationships between SAWSDL and WSDL
components were revealed. The direct relationships between SAWSDL
components and service tasks through service semantics were investigated
and reported. This paper also reviews some well-known tools that are
used for SAWSDL implementation.

has brought disadvantages, because with vast amounts of information
available, the search is a difficult, time-consuming and sometimes
inefficient task, creating the need for a strategic information
management. To overcome this need came the portals. The characteristics
of portals differ from each other, which made them appear different
definitions. Also arose several classifications of portals, one of which
considers three dimensions to classify them: the scope of content, the
aim of the portal and the range of its intended users. With this work,
the authors intend to build a Web Portal to support one or more serious
games. A database is shared with the Web Portal. This portal will serve
to make an interface between the user and the games, for the
dissemination and support of these and as a platform for managing and
monitoring results.

*CALL FOR PAPERS*
Mission of IJWP:
The *International Journal of Web Portals (IJWP)* focuses on enterprise
integration strategy that deals with the exchange of messages as the
basic component of the solution architecture enabling the integration of
people, information, applications and business processes. Portals are
expected to care more about the infrastructure services they consume,
which is a key architectural difference between the past and the future
generations of portals and represent the paradigm shift in enterprise
integration strategy. This paradigm shift focuses on identifying core
integration components, assets, enterprise portals and encourages the
reuse and refinement of these assets for integration projects. However,
these topics are rarely discussed among the practitioners or in the
international journals without primarily encouraging use of the
solutions from particular vendors. It is important to establish a
sounding board (international journal) which provides readers with an
independent view of models for enterprise integration strategies, vendor
independent tool sets, and the experience with the development of
strategic solutions carried out within the context and rules of the
enterprise's integration architecture. The readers are expected to
benefit from having access to the latest practical solutions, as well as
research papers in the field of integration approaches, the review of
tools which can effectively and proactively support integration
objectives across the enterprise.
Coverage of IJWP:
Topics to be discussed in this journal include, but are not limited to,
the following:
Business process integration and management using SOA and portals
Case studies for using portals with content management systems
Composite Web service in portal frameworks (creation and enabling
infrastructure)
Customization and portal user interface issues, multilingual portals
E-commerce applications based on portals and SOA

development environments (e.g Portlet Factory, NetBean portal plug-in,
and other tools)
Frameworks for designing SOA solution with portal platforms, models, and
modeling tools usage, efficiency, and usability
Grid portals
Managing development of portals & SOA solutions
Mobile portals, mobile portal platform, and content management systems

Subject: [AISWorld] CFP: PUC Special Issue on Advances in
Context-Aware Mobile Services

Personal and Ubiquitous Computing (PUC)
Special Issue on Advances in Context-Aware Mobile Services
Context awareness refers to the system capability of both sensing and reacting to situational changes. It is one of the most exciting trends in computing today that holds the potential to make our daily life more productive, convenient, and enjoyable.
Recently, with the rapid advances in mobile technologies, context-aware mobile services are emerging as an important technology to underpin the new breed of user-centric smart applications on the future ubiquitous mobile Web. Although mobile devices naturally have the capability to capture both the physical context, such as location, and the social context, such as presence and relationships, of users, there are many hurdles to cross in order to realize the full potential of context-aware mobile services. For example, how to represent and manage physical and social contextual details that change over time and how to make services respond to these changes. How to measure the quality of context information? How to define social sensors that can be used to capture social contexts? How, when, and where to track the provenance of data and meta-data? Another important issue is how to unify physical and social context and how to seamlessly bind context to mobile services, given the!
fact that there is still no standard way to model and access context information. In particular, how to define and use effective and practical metrics to manage adaptation? Finally from the application and usage perspective, what are the experiences so far in real-world application development? What are the user needs for context-awareness? And what is the user experience of context-aware services?
This special issue aims at presenting the latest developments, trends, and research solutions of context-aware mobile information services. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to:
- User context modeling, retrieval, and management in personalized services
- Ontologies and context modeling for mobile services
- Models and languages for formal specification of context and policies
- Visualization of context quality
- Context-based semantic matching for mobile services composition
- Software agents and context-aware mobile services
- Context-aware mobile services discovery
- Security and privacy in context-aware mobile services development
- Context awareness and mobile services standards
- Social context acquisition, modeling and integration
- Pilots and real-world applications
- User experience of context-aware mobile services
