Evolutionary Neural Networks: Theory and Practice
Guest Editors: Sung-Bae Cho and Kyung-Joong Kim
The Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems announces a forthcoming special issue on “Evolutionary Neural Networks: Theory and Practice.†Recently, evolutionary neural networks have been widely used in many practical applications. The objective of this special issue is to bring together researchers in the field of evolutionary neural network (ENN) to present and discuss their latest work on new theoretical finding and applications of ENN. This special issue is planned as a follow-up of the ENN special session at ICONIP 2009 held in Bangkok, Thailand, Dec 1~Dec 5, 2009. In addition to the papers presented at the ICONIP, we invite any potential authors to submit their work to this archival journal.
Topics of interest include (but not limited to)
-Evolutionary training of neural networks
-Evolutionary design of network topologies
-Evolution of learning (weight updating) rules
-Evolving solutions to inverse neural network problems
-The performance of alternative variation operators in designing neural networks
-Comparisons between evolutionary and other training methods
-Evolving developmental rules for neural network design
-Co-evolution in ENN
-Applications
-ENN with GPU (Graphical Processing Unit), EHW (Evolvable Hardware)
-Evolving Artificial Brain
Submission details
Authors are invited to contact the Guest Editors and indicate their intent to submit a paper for possible publication in the special issue as soon as possible. All papers will be peer-reviewed by referees on the journal’s standard review form.
