Call for Papers
Special Issue of Decision Support Systems (DSS)
"Web Retrieval and Mining"
Deadline for submission: July 13, 2001
http://ai.bpa.arizona.edu/~mgrayson/cfp/CFP-DSS-web-2001-Jul.html
******************************
The next Special Issue of Decision Support Systems (DSS), scheduled to
come out in 2002, will focus on "Web Retrieval and Mining." The guest
editor for this special issue will be Hsinchun Chen of The University of
Arizona.
Information retrieval and data mining are two research areas that have
experienced significant progress over the past few years. Overwhelming
acceptance of the Internet as a primary means for content delivery and
business transactions has created unique opportunities and challenges for
researchers. The richness of the webs multimedia content, the reach and
timeliness of web-based publication, the proliferation of eCommerce
activities, and the potential for wireless web delivery have generated
many interesting research problems. Technical, system, organizational, and
social research approaches are all needed to address these research
problems.
Articles describing novel techniques, systems, applications, and case
studies are sought for inclusion in this special issue. Specific topics of
interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Text and data mining on the web
- Web visualization
- Web intelligence and agents
- Web-based decision support and knowledge management
- Wireless web retrieval and visualization
- Web-based usability methodology
- Web-based analysis for eCommerce applications
Inquiries can be made to the guest editor at hchen(a)bpa.arizona.edu.
Manuscript submissions (four copies of full articles) should be addressed
to:
Professor Hsinchun Chen
Director, Artificial Intelligence Lab and Hoffman eCommerce Lab
Management Information Systems Department, MCCL 430Z
The University of Arizona
Tucson, AZ 85721
TEL: (520) 621-2748; FAX: (520) 621-2433
http://ai.bpa.arizona.edu/hchen, hchen(a)bpa.arizona.edu
The deadline for accepting manuscripts for consideration for publication
in this special issue is July 13, 2001.
