January 22 - 24, 2018
Funchal, Madeira - Portugal
The purpose of the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering
and Software Development, MODELSWARD 2018, is to provide a platform for
researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals
from all over the world to present their research results and
development activities in using models and model driven engineering
techniques for Software Development. Model-Driven Development (MDD) is
an approach to the development of IT systems in which models take a
central role, not only for analysis of these systems but also for their
construction. MDD has emerged from modelling initiatives, most
prominently the Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) fostered by the Object
Management Group (OMG). In the scope of MDA, a couple of technologies
have been developed that became the cornerstones of MDD, like
metamodelling and model transformations. MDD relies on languages for
defining metamodels, like the Meta-Object Facility (MOF) and Ecore
(developed in the scope of the Eclipse Modelling Framework), and
transformation specification languages like QVT and ATL.

The symposium is organized and sponsored by the international institute IICREST and technically co-sponsored by BPM-D. Cooperating organizations are: AUTH - Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, TU Delft - Delft University of Technology, CTIT - the U-Twente Centre for Telematics and Information Technology, IMI - the BAS Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, SIKS - the Nederlands Research School for Information and Knowledge Systems, and AMAKOTA Ltd.
BMSD is a leading international discussion and knowledge dissemination forum that brings together Researchers and Practitioners interested in: (i) Modeling in general and in particular - Conceptual Modeling, Goal Modeling, Value Modeling, Business/Enterprise Modeling, Process Modeling, Model-Driven Engineering; (ii) Enterprise Engineering and its relation to Software Generation; (iii) Information Systems Architectures and Design. Each year, a special theme is chosen, for making presentations and discussions more focused. The theme of BMSD 2017 is:
MODELING VIEWPOINTS AND OVERALL CONSISTENCY.
Adequate business models are of huge importance not only for understanding and (re-)engineering an organization but also for automating (part of) its processes by means of software systems. Not grasping correctly and exhaustively a business system would inevitably lead to consequent software failures. It is therefore claimed that software generation should essentially have its roots in corresponding enterprise engineering models.
In 2017, BMSD will be held in Barcelona, Spain, following previous events in Greece (Rhodes, 2016), Italy (Milan, 2015), the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (Luxembourg, 2014), The Netherlands (Noordwijkerhout, 2013), Switzerland (Geneva, 2012), and Bulgaria (Sofia, 2011).

Betreff: [AISWorld] Deadline approaching - Call for papers: The 1th
International Workshop on Temporal Aspects in User Modelling
(UMTempAspects)
Datum: Thu, 13 Apr 2017 12:29:55 +0300
Von: Tsvi Kuflik <tsvikak(a)is.haifa.ac.il>
An: AISWorld(a)lists.aisnet.org
Call for papers: The 1th International Workshop on Temporal Aspects in User
Modelling (UMTempAspects)
https://sites.google.com/edu.haifa.ac.il/umtempaspects/home
UMTempAspects 2017 is co-located with ACM UMAP 2017, 9-12th July 2017 at
FIIT STU, Bratislava, Slovakia
Abstract and Topics
The workshop will focus on considering temporal aspects for user modelling.
Nowadays computerized systems strive to provide personalized services to
their users, from product recommendations, to education and personalized
medicine tailoring online courses and healthcare services to the
individual needs and preferences. An essential component to support
personalization of services is a user model a representation of the user
in the specific domain of interest, whether it is a recommendation about a
product, a piece of content, a route to a destination or a medical
treatment, all must take the user characteristics into consideration.
Naturally, the user model needs to be adapted over time, as new information
is acquired by the system and user behavior evolves. The need to
continuously update the user model stems from the simple fact that new
information about users becomes continuously available and that users
change: their characteristics and preferences change over time they
acquire new skills, gain experience, their tastes, preferences, goals change
as well as their physical, psychological and physiological characteristics
Therefore, there is a strong temporal aspect in user modelling and a need to
research it further.
The workshop aims at bringing together researchers and practitioners working
in order to look at the challenges from the point of view of the temporal
aspects in user modelling. All in all, the workshop will aim at attracting
presentations of novel ideas for addressing these challenges and how to
advance the current state of the art in this field.
Topics (of interest) include (but are not limited to):
Specific applications and case studies (evaluation)
Specific methods and techniques for integrating temporal aspects into the
user modelling
Considering temporal aspects in group modelling
Lifelong user modelling
Concept drift in user modelling
Temporal-based Personalization
Cross domain temporal patterns
Interaction
o Temporal aspects of conversational interfaces
o Interaction concepts with personal (mobile or desktop) and group
(on-site public or desktop) displays
o Information needs, information access (incl. visualization) and search
patterns
o Personalized explanations (in recommendation systems: movies, people,
e-commerce products etc.)
