Hilton Waikoloa Village (http://www.hiltonwaikoloavillage.com)
Submission deadline: June 15, 2016, 11:59 PM Hawaii Time
Minitrack: Knowledge Management Disrupted - Understanding the Impacts of
Social and Mobile Media (
http://www.hicss.org/#!knowledge-management-disrupted/cqic)
Track: Knowledge Innovation and Entrepreneurial Systems (
http://www.hicss.org/#!track8/c1pkx)
Recent reports show that more and more companies adopt social media to
support knowledge management (KM). These companies experience considerable
changes in the way they communicate and collaborate internally once they
have implemented related technologies and platforms. In addition, the
challenges of the digital age make transforming underlying work practices
and organizational structures more urgent. While the organizational
capacity to deal with social media is maturing, we are far from embracing
those changes on knowledge practices. A number of questions is to be
addressed: What does the emergence of social and related mobile media mean
for KM initiatives in companies? Do they have to and how do they rethink
their processes and strategies? What are the timely relevant research
fields for academia? Which of our established KM models do still hold,
where do we need new models or frameworks? This minitrack calls for
contributions that take KM one step further in the light of these contexts.
Topics include but are not limited to:
* Exploring existent theories to understand social and mobile media related
KM and work place phenomena
* Appropriation and use of social and mobile media upon individual users,
groups, businesses, and governments for KM
* Role of social and mobile collaboration in digital transformation and KM
strategies
* Changing organizational cultures and structures through social and mobile
media
* Social media and KM performance
* Sociomateriality and ontological issues
* New leadership paradigms in knowledge practices and in connected
workforce environments
* Risks and challenges of social and mobile media for knowledge practices,
e.g. information overload, technostress, and protection of information
assets
* Value and risks of analytics through the social and mobile technologies
enabled “digital footprint” of the organization
* New developments in knowledge and work practices, e.g. adaptive mix

Betreff: [AISWorld] MULTI 2016 -- CALL FOR PAPERS
Datum: Mon, 2 May 2016 16:33:10 +0200
Von: Colin Atkinson <atkinson(a)informatik.uni-mannheim.de>

The Third International Workshop on Multi-Level Modelling (MULTI 2015)
co-located with the ACM/IEEE 19th International Conference on
Model Driven Engineering Languages and Systems (MODELS 2016)
October 2-7, 2016, Saint-Marlo, France
Homepage:http://swt4.informatik.uni-mannheim.de/multi-2016/
Contact:multi2016@easychair.org
Paper submission: July 17, 2016
Author notification: August 14, 2016
Proceedings online: September 19, 2016
As interest in multi-level modelling grows, and the range of multi-level
modelling tools expands, there is growing interest in consolidating the key
principles of the paradigm and clarifying the essential differences between
heterogeneous approaches. Although multi-level modelling has now been used
successfully in a variety of industrial projects and standards initiatives,
there is still no clear consensus on what the paradigm actually entails and
how it should be applied. For example, there are different views on whether
it is sound to combine instance facets and type facets into so-called
clabjects, whether strict metamodeling is too restrictive, and what tool
architectures provide the best framework for modelling with multiple
classification levels. This lack of a foundational consensus is mirrored by
the lack of a common focus in current multi-level tools. Until these
differences are resolved and the principles and practices of the approach
are placed on a solid foundation, multi-level modelling will remain a niche
technology and its user base will remain relatively small.
GOAL
The goal of MULTI 2016 is to address these challenges and continue the
community building established in the previous workshops. In particular,
the goal is to encourage the community to delineate different approaches to
multi-level modelling and define objective ways to evaluate their
respective strengths/weaknesses. One key way of addressing this goal is to
identify standard/canonical examples specially designed to exercise the
abilities of multi-level modelling approaches. Such examples could be the
result of, or further support, an analysis of which high-level goals are
addressed by multi-level modelling in general. We encourage submissions on
new concepts, implementation approaches and formalisms as well as
submissions on controversial positions, requirements for evaluation
criteria or case-study scenarios. Contributions in the area of tool
building, multi-level modelling applications, canonical examples and
educational material are equally welcome.
TOPICS
Suggest topics include, but are not limited to
- the exact nature and semantics of elements in a multi-level hierarchy and
how best to represent them
- the importance and role of potency and its variants such a durability and
mutability
- transitioning from traditional modelling approaches/tools to multi-level
approaches
- engineering domain-specific languages and complete tool support
- methods and technique for discovering clabjects, specializations and
classification relationships
- formal approaches to multi-level modelling
- challenges in providing tool support for multi-level modelling
- experiences and challenges in applying multi-level modelling to large /
real-world problems
- model management languages (transformation, code generation etc.) in a
multi-level setting
- comparisons of multi-level and two-level solutions for modelling problems
- criteria and approaches for comparing multi-level modelling approaches
and evaluating their usability
- canonical multi-level modelling examples and challenges
- distinct and multiple viewpoints on multi-level models
- methods for developing multi-level systems and languages
- innovative systems architectures enabled by multi-level languages
- multi-level modelling versus knowledge engineering and ontologies
CONTRIBUTIONS
Two kinds of papers are solicited: regular papers (max 10 pages), and
position papers (max 5 pages), adhering to Springer LNCS style. Papers
should be submitted via Easychair (
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=multi2016). Accepted papers will be
published as CEUR workshop proceedings indexed in DBLP.

On the Beautiful Big Island
Given the current turbulent state of world economy, outsourcing is coming under tremendous pressure. Companies are no longer providing long-term contracts but are renewing them based on deliverables from outsourced companies. This is putting tremendous pressure on teams to deliver quality product on time. Team adaptability and team configuration are becoming crucial to meet deadlines. Teams must be able to adapt quickly to the changing environment. Agile teams adapt and deliver quickly and provide maximum customer satisfaction. By definition, however, agile teams must be co-located. Can distributed teams be agile and adaptable? This requires careful team configuration. This mini-track examines the emerging issues related to team configuration and performance in distributed environment. Some research related to outsourcing of structured tasks has been done, but research related to emerging issues like diversity, cohesiveness, agility and adaptability related to group collaboration ac
ross semi or unstructured tasks is still emerging. In addition, the "e (Internet)" to "m (mobile)" transformation is creating exciting opportunities for groups to make real time decisions in a mobile environment.
Distributed teams, however, face many challenges of time, location, infrastructure, language, customs, socialization and politics. This is further compounded in globally distributed teams by diversity, nationality and cultural issues. As old issue are resolved, new challenges emerge that require knowledge from multiple disciplines such as information systems, social sciences, international management, leadership and political science. It is almost impossible for one individual to have expertise in so many domains, which makes this a very challenging but ultimately rewarding collaborative area of research. Given the richness and research potential of this area, it is essential to brainstorm and bring diverse points of view to develop underlying theory and frameworks. The mini track will attempt to accomplish these objectives.
The mini track will address emerging issue such as diversity, culture, adaptability and agility related to teams in distributed group decision making, as well as the underlying theories of group dynamics, coordination, communications and decision-making in distributed environments, in creation of competitive advantage. Examples of topics in the discussion of globally distributed decision making mini-track will include the following (but are not limited to):

Betreff: [AISWorld] CfP: Domain-Specific Modeling workshop - ready to go?
Datum: Sun, 1 May 2016 17:43:55 +0000

The 16th workshop on Domain-Specific Modeling
30 Oct 2016 at SPLASH, Amsterdam, Netherlands
http://www.dsmforum.org/events/DSM16/
Submission deadline: 15 Aug
Domain-Specific Modeling (DSM) provides a modern solution to demands for higher productivity by constricting the gap between problem and solution modeling. In the past, productivity gains have been sought from new programming languages. Domain-specific languages and modeling provide a viable solution for continuing to raise the level of abstraction beyond coding, making development faster and easier for all participants.
The workshop welcomes submissions that address Domain-Specific Modeling on practical or theoretical levels. They can be research papers, experience reports, position papers or demonstration papers. Some of the issues that we would like to see addressed in this workshop are:
- Industry/academic experience reports describing success/failure in implementing and using DSM languages/tools
- Approaches to identify constructs for DSM languages
- Novel features in language workbenches / tools to support DSM
- Approaches to implement metamodel-based modeling languages
- Metamodeling frameworks and languages
- Modularization technologies for DSM languages and models
- Novel approaches for code generation from domain-specific models
- Issues of support/maintenance for systems built with DSM
- Evolution of languages along with their domain
- Organizational and process issues in DSM adoption and use
See details and submission guidelines at http://www.dsmforum.org/events/DSM16/. Papers will be published in ACM DL.
