With greater connectivity brought about by the proliferation of internetworking technologies, it has become much easier for individuals to circumvent spatial and temporal barriers during interactions, thereby giving rise to a novel access (or sharing) economy that is structured around the disintermediation of conventional channels of commerce in the exchange of both tangible and intangible resources. The access (or sharing) economy has gained notable attention within mainstream media as a new economic paradigm that leverages peer-to-peer technological platforms to facilitate exchange of resources among individuals who are joined via fluid relational networks. Almost overnight, numerous peer-to-peer platforms in the likes of crowd-working (e.g., Airbnb, Uber, Amazon Mechanic Turk, E-Lance, Fiverr), co-innovation (e.g., Mindmixer, Social Innovator), crowd-funding (e.g., Kickstarter, Indiegogo), crowd-searching (e.g., Crowdfynd, CrowdSearching), and crowd-voting (e.g., California Report Card, Threadless) have sprung up to facilitate both individuals and/or organizations to pool resources in resolving problems. While there are many practitioners who have prophesized the access (or sharing) economy as a game-changer for how organizations and society function, there are also a number of detractors who questioned the uncertain and potentially disruptive future that is brought about by such peer-to-peer exchanges. Critics have painted a dismal picture of the access (or sharing) economy as a means for individuals and/or firms to dodge proper regulations and live beyond their means, which in turn contributes to doomsday scenarios of massive job displacements and spending habits detrimental to society. In light of the opportunities and challenges posed by the access (or sharing) economy, there is a clear urgency for a systematic and thorough scrutiny of how value creation and appropriation can take place within such economic environments while minimizing its negative impact to society. This minitrack embraces both retrospective and progressive views of how the access (or sharing) economy has evolved and would transform with technological advances. We welcome papers that identify and address knowledge gaps in how emergent technologies are shaping the access and sharing of resources within online peer-to-peer communities. Papers that subscribe to inter-disciplinary perspectives and/or adopt mixed methods are particularly welcome. If you have researched an important and successful IT-related business initiative, the SIM 2016 Paper Competition Committee invites you to submit an abstract describing this initiative. The work described must be implemented and it must have had a significant impact on the organization involved. Winning papers will be a collaboration between academics and practitioners. Since SIM's focus is toward executive management, the work should describe an initiative of interest to senior IS executives. WHY ENTER THE COMPETITION? This is an excellent way to gain widespread recognition and visibility for exemplary IT leadership and to highlight the impacts of IT in firms applying IT strategically. Recognition will be given to up to two papers at SIMposium 2016 at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut and all winning papers will be featured on SIMnet. In addition, the authors of the first and second place papers will be asked to present their papers at SIMposium. All winning papers will also be considered for publication in MISQ Executive, although some reformulation may be required to meet academic journal guidelines. The preceding editions of the FCA4AI Workshop (ECAI 2014 and 2012, IJCAI 2015 and 2013) showed that many researchers working in Artificial Intelligence are indeed interested by a powerful method for classification and mining such as Formal Concept Analysis (see CEUR Proceedings Vol-1430, Vol-1257, Vol-1058, and Vol-939). This year, we have the chance to organize a new edition of the workshop in The Hague at the ECAI 2016 Conference. Formal Concept Analysis (FCA) is a mathematically well-founded theory aimed at data analysis and classification. FCA allows one to build a concept lattice and a system of dependencies (implications) which can be used for many AI needs, e.g. knowledge processing involving learning, knowledge discovery, knowledge representation and reasoning, ontology engineering, and as well as information retrieval and text processing. Thus, there exist many ``natural links'' between FCA and AI. Recent years have been witnessing increased scientific activity around FCA, in particular a strand of work emerged that is aimed at extending the possibilities of FCA w.r.t. knowledge processing, such as work on pattern structures and relational context analysis. These extensions are aimed at allowing FCA to deal with more complex than just binary data, both from the data analysis and knowledge discovery point of view and from the knowledge representation point of view, including, e.g., ontology engineering. All these works extend the capabilities of FCA and offer new possibilities for AI activities in the framework of FCA. Accordingly, in this workshop, we will be interested in two main issues: - How can FCA support AI activities such as knowledge processing (knowledge discovery, knowledge representation and reasoning), learning (clustering, pattern and data mining), natural language processing, information retrieval. - How can FCA be extended in order to help AI researchers to solve new and complex problems in their domain. The workshop is dedicated to discuss such issues. We also welcome papers on experiences of formal methods in industry, and on the design and validation of formal methods tools. Examples include autonomous systems, robots, and cyber-physical systems in general. Applying formal methods to these systems of growing interest and importance is challenging because they exhibit much greater non-determinism than traditional systems, making them challenging to assure. The broad topics of interest for FM 2016 include, but are not limited to: • Interdisciplinary formal methods: Techniques, tools and experiences demonstrating formal methods in interdisciplinary frameworks. • Formal methods in practice: Industrial applications of formal methods, experience with formal methods in industry, tool usage reports, experiments with challenge problems. Authors are encouraged to explain how formal methods overcame problems, led to improved designs, or provided new insights. • Tools for formal methods: Advances in automated verification and model-checking, tools integration, environments for formal methods, and experimental validation of tools. Authors are encouraged to demonstrate empirically that the new tool or environment advances the state of the art. • Role of formal methods in software and systems engineering: Development processes with formal methods, usage guidelines for formal methods, and method integration. Each paper will be evaluated by at least three members of the Programme Committee. Authors of papers reporting experimental work are strongly encouraged to make their experimental results available for use by reviewers. Similarly, case study papers should describe significant case studies and the complete development should be made available at the time of review. The usual criteria for novelty, reproducibility, correctness and the ability for others to build upon the described work apply. Tool papers should explain enhancements made compared to previously published work. A tool paper need not present the theory behind the tool but should focus more on the tool’s features, how it is used, its evaluation, and examples and screen shots illustrating the tool’s use. Authors of tool papers should make their tool available for use by reviewers. We solicit two categories of papers: • Regular Papers should not exceed 15 pages, not counting references and appendices. • Short papers, including tool papers, should not exceed 6 pages, not counting references and appendices. Besides tool papers, short papers are encouraged for any subject that can be described within the page limit, and in particular for novel ideas without an extensive experimental evaluation. Short papers will be accompanied by short presentations. For regular and tool papers, an appendix can provide additional material such as details on proofs or experiments. The appendix is not part of the page count and not guaranteed to be read or taken into account by the reviewers. It should not contain information necessary to the understanding and the evaluation of the presented work. Papers will be accepted or rejected in the category in which they were submitted—there will be no “demotions” from a regular to a short paper. It is common that all these aim at successful and beneficial installation of a new system. However, despite of existing tracks of research on these topics, according to Gartner reports and popular press articles, numerous information systems projects fail in terms of costs, schedules, and objectives. Models and methods for understanding IS success and benefits, benefits realization of IT investments at large, realizing the benefits of information systems in general, proactively measuring them before renewal, or retrospectively analyzing them at the project have largely remained untouched. It is surprising that despite the number of problematic IS projects, the topic is still little understood in the information systems researcher community. For example, such questions as how to proactively setting measurable objectives for IS benefits, how to choose an appropriate acquisition strategy and method for maximum benefits, how to execute the acquisition project successfully, and how to measure and analyze benefits of IS investments after the project have been left largely intact - even though these are significant issues for practitioners and economy. For example famous IS success model (Delone & MacLean 2003; Petter et al. 2008) identifies the benefit realization model, although theorizes the phenomena on an abstract level. Thus, although a recent Delphi study identified benefits realization as the most important issue to be considered by IS procurement professionals in the public sector (Moe & Päivärinta 2013), the success and benefits of IS investments remain rather abstract in practice. This is problematic as for instance in Norway, all public ICT acquisitions need to justify rather detailed benefits to the public or to the civil servants proactively, before the acquisition takes place. Although the literature documents several methods and techniques for benefits justification, management and realization, they have not reached wide utilization in practice. The situation is, up to large extent, identical in private sector as, for instance, business cases are difficult to write and different IS initiations are difficult to compare. This sets a starting point for this minitrack. We invite papers focusing on theoretical models, empirical results, or practical experiences on different aspects of IS benefits, benefit realization or IS success in the private or the public sector. Topics covered, but not limited to: - IS procurement and acquisition concepts and experiences that aim for maximum benefits - The impacts of regulations - Benefits realization processes and methods - Benefits realization as a part of IS development practice or methods - IS procurement issues, challenges, or solutions for maximum benefits - Theoretical models and frameworks for (understanding) IS benefits and benefits realization - Stakeholders that affect IS benefits realization - Case studies - Business-IT alignment and its relation to IS benefits - Architectures and models and their relations to IS benefits - Benefits and benefit realization in the context of IS procurement or IS renewal - Utility of applying formal benefits realization or procurement practices Deadlines: June 15: Submit full manuscripts for review.
