Betreff: [AISWorld] 2nd CfP: WS 'Standardisation of Cyber-Physical
Systems'
Datum: Mon, 21 Mar 2016 15:54:04 +0100
Von: Kai Jakobs <kai.jakobs(a)comsys.rwth-aachen.de>
Organisation: RWTH Aachen University
An: AISWorld <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
***With apologies for cross-posting***
2nd Call for Papers
Workshop 'Standardisation of Cyber-Physical Systems'
in conjunction with INFORMATIK 2016, in Klagenfurt, Austria
30 September 2016
The ongoing mergers of formerly separate technical sectors may eventually change the whole standardisation landscape. Examples of such mergers include e.g. Intelligent Transport Systems (ICT, transport telematics, traffic engineering), electric vehicles (ICT, automotive, power supply), e-health (ICT, medicine) and, perhaps ultimately, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS; ICT and pretty much everything else).
For CPSs, hard requirements on e.g. reliability and response times imply that often technologies will need to be co-developed (as opposed to be integrated ex-post). Such co-development will require very close co-operation between the different technical disciplines. This represents a considerable problem also for standards setting. Standards Setting Organisations (SSOs) with very different cultures and from equally different backgrounds with very diverse technology life cycles will need to co-operate. On top of that, CPSs in general and specifically applications like e-health need to address issues of information security and safety and of trust up-front.
The WS aims to discuss how standardisation of (e)merging technologies should be managed from a European perspective. This includes trying to find answers to questions like (among others)
- How can cross-disciplinary standardisation be achieved?
- Is there a need for closer collaboration between the European Standards Organisations (ESOs) and private standards consortia? If so, how could this be organised?
- Could there be benefits in actively encouraging and founding (EU-led) consortia specifically targeting CPSs?
- How could co-operation between ESOs and their international counterparts (ISO, IEC, ITU) be improved?
- Is increased co-operation with emerging powerful players from China desirable in the field of CPSs?
- How can conditions that improve the link between R&D and standardisation in the field of CPSs be established?
- How can all relevant stakeholder groups be adequately involved in the process?
- Which role could and should the European Commission play in this process?

Special Issue on Data-Centric Big Services
IEEE Transactions on Services Computing (TSC)
http://www.computer.org/cms/Computer.org/transactions/cfps/cfp_tscsi_dcbs.p…
As an overwhelming amount of data is being generated at a fast rate
daily from all sources (e.g., intelligent terminals, Internet-of-Things
sensors, cloud services, and social network services), it has become
imperative to rapidly innovate the services computing technologies for
provisioning data-centric scalable and composable services. These
services must be efficient and effective in acquiring, storing,
curating, transforming, analyzing, exploiting, and managing the vast
amount of diverse data. Timely actionable insights on the Big Data can
bring unprecedented value and new opportunities that are critical to a
successful business and/or a prosperous society. The Big Services should
be provisioned in a way that speeds up data processing, scales up with
data volume, improves the adaptability and extensibility over data
diversity and uncertainties, and turns low-level data into actionable
knowledge towards better understanding and manipulation of the Big Data.
A Big Service is a managed integration of a massive, complicated series
of services centered on Big Data. It could comprise of complicated
business and IT services across multiple network, application, and
administrative domains via API-defined services and micro-services. A
Big Service can be a correlative and complicated business in the
networked virtual and real worlds.
At the dawn of the Big Services era, this special issue aims at
presenting the latest developments, trends, and research solutions in
provisioning data-centric Big Services. We seek original and high

Call for Papers
2nd International Workshop on Digital Enterprise Engineering and Architecture
(IDEA 2016)
http://www.digitalenterprise.eu/
In conjunction with
BIS 2016 - 19th International Conference on Business Information Systems
6-8 July 2016, Leipzig, Germany
Digitization and Digital Business
Digitization is the use of digital technologies for creating innovative digital
business models and transforming existing business models and processes.
Information is captured and processed without human intervention using digital
means. Digitization creates profound changes in the economy and society.
Digitization has both business and technological perspectives. Digital business
models and process are essential for many companies to achieve their strategic
goals.
Digitization impacts both the product, customer and the value-creation
perspective. Digitized products are dynamic, their functionality can be
extended on the fly by using external services. They are capable of reflecting
on their own status and thus morph the selling of physical assets to services.
Digitization changes the relationships with the customer significantly.
Personal interaction is replaced by self-service and proactive action. The
customer interacts with the enterprise using a multitude of implicit
touchpoints created by the Internet of Things. Digitization fosters new models
of value creation such as Service-Dominant Logic. Value is also created by
platform and net-work effects.
On a technological level, digitization embraces the automation of processes and
decisions. Advanced analytics provides the automation of decisions hitherto
made by human beings. Typical elements of digital enterprise architectures are
the use of decision automation, predictive or even prescriptive analytics. In
this way, digital technologies such as service-orientation, cloud computing,
big data, mobile or the internet of things enable the creation of new options
for enterprises and organizations.
Due to the high diversity of concepts, the complexity of systems involved and
the heterogeneity of stakeholders, a methodological foundation is crucial to
the success of digitization. Therefore, the workshop “Digital Enterprise
Engineering and Architecture” integrates business with technological themes
and applies methodical and engineering principles to the design of Digital
Enterprise Architectures (EA). It strives for deriving the EA from the
enterprise goals and strategy and aligning it with the enterprise resources.
The workshop embraces concepts from Computer Science, Business Information
Systems, and Business Administration.
Goal of the Workshop
The goal of the workshop is to identify challenges from digitization for
enterprises and organizations and to advance Digital Enterprise Engineering and
Architecture to cope with these challenges. The workshop shall identify and
develop concepts and methods that assist the engineering and the management of
digital enterprise architectures and the software systems supporting them.
Themes of the workshop
To achieve the goals of the workshop the following themes of research shall be
pursued:
- Methods for the Design and Management of Digital Enterprises
- Alignment of the enterprise goals and strategies with the digital
enterprise architecture
- Digital Strategy and Governance
- Architectural patterns for value-co-creation, dynamic and servitized
products
- Service in digital enterprises
- Business process management in Digital Enterprises
- Advanced Analytics for the Support of Digital Enterprises
- Self-service and automation in Digital Enterprises
- Customer journeys and relationship management in digital enterprises
- Internet of Things and Digital Enterprises
- Impact of digitization on society and economy
- Security in Digital Architectures
