Data now is considered a highly valuable corporate resource. The ability to integrate and analyze data has become extremely important in today’s turbulent environment. Business intelligence and analytics are crucial for organizations to sense and respond to market competition and changing demands. Understanding how BI/BA can be implemented to support business agility and how they can transform business processes has become imperative. Currently, the understanding of BI/BA and their impact of business agility is limited. Much remains to be studied. This minitrack seeks studies that focus on investigation of the relationship between BI/BA and agility. How should a business implement business intelligence systems to support organizational agility? How BI/BA capability help transform a business into an agile organization? All studies including conceptual, qualitative, and quantitative research investigating business intelligence/analytics and organizational agility are welcome. For instance, Herbert Simons classic model of decision making (intelligence, design, choice [Simon, 1977]) emphasizes the essential role that information has through its initial decision phase, intelligence, which consists of a scan of the environment that aims to identify new problems or opportunities. Evidently, information also has important role in the design of possible avenues of action: the design phase involves intelligence as well, e.g., of materials, techniques, and/or processes [Boland and Collopy, 2004]. Similarly, the choice of a preferred alternative involves intelligence of the current conditions that affect each alternative. This minitrack centers on the relationship between the quality of the information that is employed in the decision-making process on one hand, and, on the other hand, the product of the decision, other aspects of the decision process, the consequences of the decision, and/or its utility and value. The ultimate goal of this research is to produce solutions that bring under control and mitigate the negative effects of poor information quality, i.e., improve decisions both subjectively and objectively. Papers in this minitrack will aim to: + Extend the existing understanding of the above relationships in a chosen setting + Propose a new artifact(s) (e.g., a concept, model, method, system implementation)that promises a new solution + Examine the value of a previously proposed artifact + Refine a previously proposed artifact We welcome original research papers regardless of decision domain, decision process, or research methodology. These connections provide great potentials for organizations as complementary competencies can be brought together, leading to, e.g., product and service innovations, streamlined cross-organizational operations, and advanced uses of IS/IT. However, organizations within these collaborative settings are faced with an increasing socio-technical complexity which not only arises from integrating diverse organizations, their business processes and corresponding IS/IT infrastructures, but also from their interaction with people outside the organizational boundaries and with society (e.g., by mobile devices and social media). Traditional approaches for IS/IT innovation management and organizational change can hardly be applied in this context, as they are generally focused on a single organization with well-defined borders. Hence, the design, management and deployment of IS and process innovations in collaborative networks represent relevant and current challenges for IS research. Answers to these challenges may include, for instance, adapting existing or developing novel IS frameworks, methodologies and approaches to deal with the socio-technical complexity of collaborative networks. This mini-track aims at providing a forum for research on methods for analyzing and intervening into collaborative networks that consider the tremendous size, geographical dispersion, socio-technical intertwining as well as the limited possibilities to influence these networks.
