*** Inhalt ***
"Vernetzte Gesundheit" ("e-Health") ist eine der wichtigsten
Herausforderungen für das Gesundheitswesen von morgen.
Gesundheitsversorgung muss kooperativ und sektorenübergreifend
stattfinden.
vernetzten Gesundheit
- Referenzmodellierung und multiperspektivische Modellierung im
Gesundheitswesen

INTRODUCTION
------------
The workshop is intended to promote the diffusion of a "People Centered
Smart Territories" vision, i.e. a socially-oriented and inclusive
bottom-up vision driven by a 'person in place' centered design approach
that focus on persons who, as well known, are driven by motivations and
expectations, desires, needs and, moreover, have their own styles.
It is pretty obvious that the challenge is to support the harmonious and
continuous development of all experiential dimensions relevant to
individuals, to the community of belonging and to the contexts of reference.
Because of this we think that it is important to offer a 'place' where
meet, compare and discuss "People Centered" experiences that have been
supported by the smartness of the territories.
Central to this purpose are:
• the dissemination of an adequate design literacy and an open access to
strategies and methodologies that may support the development of "People
Centered Smart Territories"
• the support to the development of learning paths that will prove more
effective in engaging and stimulating social innovation and, as well, in
keeping the persistence of individuals and communities in the so-called
state of "flow", which is essential in order to achieve and maintain the
leadership of creativity and innovation
• the ability to perform a multidimensional and holistic monitoring of
the transformation the territories are undergoing to become smart and,
as well, their ability to support the expectations of individuals and
communities of reference, within the framework of a sustainable development.
All this justifies the three key words contained by the workshop title:
Design - Learning - Analytics
------------------
TOPICS OF INTEREST
------------------
- strategies, approaches and methodologies to design and support the
development of "People Centered Smart Territories"
- concepts and case studies related to the "People Centered Smart
Territories" vision (e.g.: support to small smart communities, social
inclusion, learning, etc.)
- monitoring, analytics and benchmarking of the dimensions relevant to
define the smartness of "People Centered Smart Territories"

Modern day organizations are subject to continuous change. To remain
relevant and competitive, it is imperative that organizations cultivate
and foster learning capabilities. It has been widely accepted that
learning is a subcomponent of knowledge management activities in an
organizational context. Numerous studies have been done to examine the
relationship between knowledge management (KM) and organizational
learning (OL). Yet, limited research has been published to demonstrate
how practical design and implementation of a KM system (or an
instantiation of it) can impact/influence learning capabilities within
organizations. KM in general is defined as a systematic way of creating,
storing, sharing and disseminating knowledge to aid various forms of
decision making within organizations. A KM system meanwhile is often
related to the application of Information Technology to support KM
efforts in an organizational context. OL is a sub-domain of
organizational theory that examines issues pertaining to the importance
of learning and keeping abreast with changes within the organizational
landscape. There is significant role and scope for well designed and
implemented KM systems to support learning efforts.
Given this backdrop, we would like to call for papers that examine
anyone or moreof(albeit not restricted to) the following topics, in this
special issue:
·KM Systems and its role in organizational learning
·Cases that report on practical instances of KM implementation to aid OL
in an institutional context
·Conceptual design of KM Systems that can lead to OL efforts
·Lessons learned from KM implementation in the context of OL
·Action research projects that showcase how a particular KM system/tool
was implemented to support OL efforts either in an educational or
corporate context
·Theories that examine how KM systems can impact learning efforts
·A discussion on a particular dimension of KM system (e.g. database,
web-based systems, ontologies, semantic webs etc.) was applied to foster
learning in a given situation.
·Other related topics as approved by the editors of the special issue.

Third Australasian Symposium on Service Research and Innovation (ASSRI?13)
to be held at the School of Computer Science and Engineering
University of New South Wales, Sydney, NSW, Australia
November 27-29, 2013
http://www.servicesciencesociety.org.au/events/third-australasian-symposium…
*********************************************************************************
* CALL FOR PAPERS *
With the increasingly dominant role that the service sector plays in
both developed and emerging economies, the conceptualisation, design,
delivery, and evaluation of service systems have attracted significant
research attention and policy focus. There is also a growing recognition
of the critical role of service innovation in improving productivity
levels and quality of life. The transition from the manufacturing and
goods-based orientation to more of a service-dominant logic has gathered
momentum in recent years. Information and communication technologies
(ICT) play a central role in the design and delivery of service systems.
Internet and World Wide Web-related developments such as web 2.0,
semantic web, cloud infrastructure, and service-oriented computing and
web services, social computing, and (internet-based) human computation
are just a few of the technological advances that are helping to
redefine the landscape of service systems.
The third Australasian Symposium on Service Research and Innovation will
bring together a cross-disciplinary group of researchers and
practitioners who are engaged in research and development in the area of
services, broadly defined. It will feature keynote addresses and invited
lectures by prominent researchers in the field. There will also be
contributed paper sessions to which service and related researchers are
invited to submit their recent work. A public sector and industry forum
featuring some of the academic researchers and practitioners in industry
and government will also be a part of the symposium.
The service science initiative (and service science, management and
engineering (SSME) discipline for the study, design and implementation
of service systems) has been a driver and platform for research, over
the past decade, towards the goal of building a science of services.
This symposium is expected to provide a forum for analyzing and
assessing the progress achieved in pursuit of this goal and to explore
the foundations of and emerging directions in service research.
The symposium is sponsored by the Service Science Society of Australia.
This is the apex national body representing the services research
community of Australia. It seeks to promote the understanding and use of
service science in government, industry and academia. The Australasian
Symposium on Service Research and Innovation series also serves as its
annual meeting.

research, originality, significance, and clarity. Please submit papers
through EasyChair. The proceedings will be published by Springer under
the Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series. Selected papers will
be fast-tracked for publication in a services research journal of good
standing (in revised and expanded form).

CALL FOR PAPERS â?? Special Issue on Online Social Networks
Computer Networks (Impact Factor: 1,231)
****************************************************
Deadline for Paper Submissions: November 15, 2013
====================================
Description of the Special Issue
=====================
In recent years we observed the rapid development of Online Social
Networks that have drastically transformed the way in which people
communicate, get connected, and create information. Individuals
establish friendships and relationships in these networks, exchange
their experiences and opinions, and create groups and communities, all
at a speed (and reach) previously unheard of. At the same time, more and
more companies present themselves and their products via Online Social
Networks such as Facebook or use corresponding internal applications to
connect their employees. Thus, Online Social Networking platforms (e.g.,
Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn) are changing not only our personal but our
organizational behavior too, while, at the same time, creating entirely
new communities. Particularly the resulting availability of huge amounts
of data allows the mining of valuable insights for both research and
practice. By revolutionizing communication and collaboration patterns,
Online Social Networks promise previously unimagined opportunities but
may also bring along several new challenges and risks as well.
This special issue aims to contribute to the growing body of research
investigating Online Social Networks and its most recent developments,
addressing both theoretical and applied perspectives. We seek rigorous
and relevant submissions in the context of Online Social Networks
providing new insights on both opportunities and challenges in Online
Social Networks for individuals (e.g., communication patterns),
organizations (e.g., regarding their potential), and society in a
broader sense (e.g., information overload, data privacy). We seek a full
range of analyses (e.g., strategic, organizational, behavioral,
economic, and technical). We welcome all methodological approaches,
including, but not limited to, theoretical, analytical, design-oriented,
and empirical research.

Betreff: [WI] CfP - Special Issue on Big Data (BISE /
Wirtschaftsinformatik)
Datum: Fri, 16 Aug 2013 17:06:47 +0200

Special Issue on Big Data
BISE Journal
Business & Information Systems Engineering
http://www.bise-journal.com/
Since Jim Gray started his huge astronomy project at Microsoft to proclaim the
age of “data science” in the late 1990s, this approach has proliferated to many
other areas beyond the natural sciences. In Information Systems, the 1990s saw
the analysis of historical data collected in data warehouses. Soon after, the
quasi real-time analysis of high-frequency trading in finance added the data
stream aspect to data mining. Search engines, web commerce, and social media
have added text mining, social network analysis, and heterogeneous data analysis
to the spectrum.
The buzzword "Big Data" nowadays characterizes analytical systems with extreme
data Volume, high data Variety, and rapid data generation Velocity. Even though
this buzzword is surely approaching its peak in the Gartner lifecycle, there are
many arguments why this trend will continue and even accelerate in the coming
years. The Internet of Things accelerates data generation by integrating
billions of sensors, the media spectrum is broadened by image, audio, and video,
and ever faster multicore and parallel computers produce ever more complex
simulation results that need to be administered and analyzed. This offers
numerous chances for business, public administration, and all kinds of sciences.
But intrinsically, it also increases dependency on systems and allows systems to
enter more and more deeply into areas of life that until very recently were
unquestionably private. Nationally and internationally, very many research
endeavours have begun to explore these new chances and challenges.
The planned special issue wants to contribute to the scientific debate
especially of the role of business information systems in this major societal
change. We desire contributions from research and practice e.g. on the following
themes:
* Strategic role of big data for competitiveness and service quality
* Empirical studies of the impact of big data
* Legal and regulatory aspects of big data
* Privacy-aware data mining
* Big data in specific aspects of business such as finance, marketing, logistics, etc.
* Big data in public sector services and government planning
* Big data und Cyberphysical Systems in business
* Data quality and Big Data
* Role of novel big data technologies such as stream mining, main memory databases, cloud computing, etc.
* Big data analysis of heterogeneous data sources
The emphasis of submissions should be on data-centric approaches; purely model-
centric methods, even if they work with large data sets, are not in the focus of
the special issue.
