Dear Gustaf Neumann,
ICSOFT 2012 (7th International Conference on Software Paradigm Trends - http://www.icsoft.org/) has an open call for position papers (deadline set for next April 26) and we invite you to participate by submitting a paper reflecting your current work in any of the areas listed below. The conference will be held this Summer in Rome, Italy, on July 24-27.
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topic areas. The acceptance of a position paper is restricted to the categories of "short paper" or "poster", i.e. a position paper is not a candidate to acceptance as "full paper".
The conference will feature four Keynote Lectures delivered by distinguished world-class researchers: Stephen Mellor, (Freeter, U.K.), Daniela Nicklas (Carl von Ossietzky Universitaet Oldenburg, Germany), Fabio Casati (University of Trento, Italy) and Jan Dietz (Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands).
The Program Committee (check the website for a detailed list) includes internationally distinguished experts in the conference topic areas.
Last year's ICSOFT received 220 paper submissions, of which 12% were selected to be published and presented as full papers (10 pages / 30' oral presentation). Additionally, 28% were accepted as short papers (20' oral presentation) and 15% as posters. ICSOFT 2012 intends to reinforce this high level of quality.
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers (full, short and posters) will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support. BXDY
A short list of presented papers will be selected for publication of extended and revised versions by Springer-Verlag in a CCIS Series book.
The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP and Elsevier Index (EI).
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SciTePress is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/).
Best paper awards will be distributed during the conference closing session. Please check the website for further information (http://www.icsoft.org/BestPaperAward.aspx).
Workshops, Special sessions, Tutorials and Demonstrations dedicated to other technical/scientific topics are also envisaged: companies and researchers interested in presenting their products/methodologies/results in a dedicated satellite event are invited to contact the conference secretariat. Workshop chairs and Special Session chairs will benefit from several types of support, including logistics, secretariat and financial, to facilitate the development of a valid idea.
ICSOFT 2012 will be held in conjunction with ICETE (9th International Joint Conference on e-Business and Telecommunications - http://www.icete.org) and DATA (International Conference on Data Technologies and Applications - http://www.dataconference.org). Registration to ICSOFT will allow free access to both ICETE and DATA, as a non-speaker.
ICSOFT's website - http://www.icsoft.org/ - has all the details on the conference structure and its main topic areas.
Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have.

===== IWASCL-2012 Workshop: Call for Papers ==================
=================================================================
Third International Workshop on Adaptive Systems for Collaborative
Learning (IWASCL-2012)
Workshop website http://titan.csd.auth.gr/iwascl2012/
IWASCL-2012 will be held in conjunction with the 4th International
Conference on Intelligent Networking and Collaborative Systems (INCoS
2012)
Conference website: http://voyager.ce.fit.ac.jp/~incos2012/
Place& Time: Bucharest, Romania, September 19 - 21, 2012
** PROCEEDINGS by IEEE CPS **
*** Submission Deadline (extended): APRIL 25, 2012 ***
Theme and Scope
----------------------
Current learning technologies can provide adaptive and/or intelligent
support to learners in a collaborative learning situation. This
perspective lies at the crossroads of Intelligent Tutoring, Adaptive
Educational Hypermedia Systems and Computer-Supported Collaborative
Learning (CSCL), expanding the perspective of the fields and setting
innovative research agendas.
Contemporary learning theories strongly emphasize social interaction as a
key mechanism for the development of shared understanding and knowledge
construction. Consequently, building technologies that intelligibly
trigger, guide and support peer interaction is expected to help students
significantly increase the value of collaboration-generated benefits at
both cognitive and meta-cognitive level.
Working in this context several research groups have made various
contributions leading gradually to the development of systems for adaptive
and intelligent collaborative learning support (AICLS systems). In
general, these systems are expected to model the users (individual or
group), the activity, and the interaction between human and technological
agents and make ?informed? interventions to support pre-task group
formation, in-task peer interactions and domain-specific activities in the
collaborative setting. Early studies on the impact of employing
adaptive/intelligent forms of support in CSCL have provided encouraging
results, however, the agenda is open and several intriguing questions are
still far from being adequately addressed.
The scope of the IWASCL-2012 workshop (the third workshop in the series)
is to provide the opportunity for an informal meeting which facilitates
the dissemination of knowledge in the field, providing useful insights on
existing state-of-the-art research. The workshop sets a broad focus and
invites contributions presenting methods, tools, formalization approaches,
early prototype design and evaluation, pedagogical issues, position
papers. We especially welcome papers that describe speculative ideas, work
in progress, and discussions of challenging issues.
The workshop includes (but is not limited to) topics such as:
-- Theoretical approaches on adaptive/intelligent methods addressing needs
of group learners.
-- User and group modeling to cater for adaptive/intelligent system
design. -- Adaptive and intelligent forms of
tutoring/scaffolding/scripting in CSCL systems.
-- Adaptive collaboration support.
-- Methods and tools for the design and operationalization of
adaptive/intelligent CSCL systems.
-- Adaptive/Intelligent methods for supporting the orchestration of
activities in collaborative learning contexts.
-- Tools and methods for adaptive/intelligent support of learners in
scripted collaboration.
-- Architectures and frameworks for building or testing AICLS systems.
-- AI and Web 2.0 tools& methods to integrate in AICLS systems.
-- Formalization efforts and the role of the Learning Design.
-- Interaction analysis techniques to inform the adaptable/intelligent
behavior of CSCL systems.
-- Learning analytics and educational data mining techniques in the CSCL
context.
-- Adaptive/Intelligent support of learners in social networking applications
-- Pedagogical issues on the adaptive/intelligent support of group
learners -- Evaluating various aspects of adaptive/intelligent systems for
collaborative learning (e.g. cost/benefit issues)

Extended Deadline for Submissions: 23 April 2012
---Organizers---
Michael Prilla; University of Bochum, Germany
Carsten Ritterskamp; adesso AG, Germany
---Workshop Content---
The prevalence and maturity of today's mobile technologies allow for a
mobilization of cooperative work on a large scale. While there is a plethora of
technologies offering mobile cooperation support in the field, there still is a
need for a methodological reflection on the mobilization of cooperative
processes. The field of CSCW needs to develop a framework for the analysis and
practical design of mobile cooperation - the full day workshop on Mobile CSCW
at COOP 2012 is intended to be a starting point for this endeavor.
Intending to develop a conception of Mobile CSCW that is applicable both for
business an research, we will address three pivotal questions from a joint
perspective of research and practice:
1) When and how can processes of cooperation be mobilized adequately?
2) which opportunities and barriers arise from current findings and
technologies for mobile cooperation support?
3) How does cooperation change through mobile access to cooperation support and
how does mobility shape new technologies for cooperation?
Aiming at knowledge exchange and co-production, the workshop invites both
researchers and practitioners and incorporates presentations of participants'
work and interactive sessions.
The workshop is held in conjunction with the 10th International Conference on
the Design of Cooperative Systems (COOP 2012).
---Topics---
The workshop welcomes different kind of contributions, including the
description of case studies and other empirical work on mobile cooperation
support, position papers e.g. describing future research and practical
experiences with mobile cooperation support. Although we strongly encourage
partners or tandems from research and practice (just as the organizers) to
present their work of implementing mobile CSCW in real contexts, researchers
and practitioners without a partner present are also cordially invited to
contribute their work.
Topics of the workshop include but are not restricted to the following:
Studies on mobile cooperation processes
- Analysis of cooperation processes and their (potential for) mobility
- Mobile work and its affordances
- Mobility of cooperation processes and their parts
- Communication in mobile cooperation
- Advantages and disadvantages of mobile and mobilization of cooperation
Experiences with mobile technologies for cooperation support
- Adoption and adaption of mobile technology in cooperation
- (Positive and negative) Effects of mobile technology on communication and
cooperation
- Integration of mobile devices into existing IT and process infrastructures
- Usage patterns of mobile cooperation support, including personalization
Theories, frameworks and design approaches supporting mobile cooperation
support
- Constraints, needs and benefits of mobile cooperation
- Mappings between technology and mobile needs
- Insights into the way (mobile) technologies change (mobile) cooperation
- Design of mobile cooperation processes and technologies
- Modeling of mobile business processes ñ patterns and procedures to depict
mobility, its opportunities and to conduct the necessary steps of
transformation.
---Submission---
We will accept contributions in two different formats:
- Short papers such as reports of best practices or position papers which may
not exceed 3 pages.
- Long papers of such as reports of empirical studies or research in progress
which may not exceed 6 pages.
All contributions have to be formatted according to the COOP formatting
instructions and must be submitted in PDF format via eMail to the organizers.
Author kits and paper templates are available at the COOP 2012 website
(http://coop-2012.grenoble-inp.fr).

---Venue---
The 10th International Conference on the Design of Cooperative Systems (COOP
2012) will be held in Marseille, France from 29 May to 1 June 2012.
COOP 2012 will be the tenth COOP conference and twenty years on from the first
conference in 1992 we are asking practitioners to reflect on what have been the
successes and the failures, and what are the remaining challenges in our
relevant domains. The conference aims at bringing together researchers who
contribute to the analysis and design of cooperative systems and their
integration in organizational unity, public and other settings, and their
implications for policy and decision-making.
The COOP conferences suggest that cooperative systems design requires deep
understanding of collective activities, involving both artifacts and social
practices. Contributions are solicited from a wide range of domains
contributing to the fields of cooperative systems design and evaluation: CSCW,
HCI, Information Systems, Knowledge Engineering, Multi-agents, organizational
and management sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ergonomics,
linguistics, etc.

The 2012 European Security Conference
- Exploring emergent frontiers in identity and privacy
management
The 3rd European Security Conference is scheduled for
September 12-13, 2012 in Orebro, Sweden. The Conference is
an European extension of the Annual Security Conference that
has been held in Las Vegas (USA) for over a decade. The
conference attracts a nice mix of participants from
academia, government and industry. Co-organizers for the
European 2012 event are Orebro University, Lulea University
of Technology, Information Institute and Virginia
Commonwealth University. Administrative office for the
conference is at Orebro University.
The theme of the 2012 event is identity and privacy
management. With widespread use of Internet based
technologies and the general virtualization of work, the
manner in which individuals identify with organizations and

Readers:
The Journal of Community Informatics has just published its latest issue at
http://ci-journal.net/index.php/ciej. We invite you to review the Table of
Contents here and then visit our web site to review articles and items of
interest.
This special issue edited by Tim Davies and Zainab Bawa is being offered as
a constructive contribution to the developing debates and practices of Open
Government Data - as global infrastructures, technical architectures, and
grassroots movements co-evolve. It is published as a rolling issue, with an
initial set of papers made available in April 2012, and a further set of
papers (currently going through the review process), and field notes
(responding to emerging themes) to be published later in the year. Our hope
is that this provides a way to combine the editorial and review processes of
putting together a journal issue, with a rapidly emerging and evolving
field, where developments far outpace the speed of conventional scholarly
publishing.
Thanks for the continuing interest in our work,
Michael Gurstein, Ph.D.

Subject: [AISWorld] CfP: Workshop on Graphical Modeling
Language Development

Call for Papers
GRAPHICAL MODELING LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT (GMLD12)
Kgs. Lungby, Denmark (at ECMFA 2012)
http://www.dsmforum.org/events/GMLD12
Models play an important role in software development. They not only support communication and understanding, but are increasingly used in automating software development tasks such as code generation, model-based testing, simulation and analysis. While many languages are created for software developers others may be created for business analysts, interaction specialists, test engineers, or persons responsible for product configuration and deployment. Often these languages are domain-specific, created for a narrow application area or for use only inside one company.
This workshop looks at principles of modeling language development, particularly graphical modeling languages for domain-specific needs. We seek contributions that are backed up by experiences on developing modeling languages. We do not focus on tools, but recognize the need for metamodel-based tools, which significantly ease the production of modeling environments. These tools also enable experimentation with the language as it is built, and remove the burden of tool creation and maintenance from the language creator.
The workshop welcomes submissions that address the development of graphical modeling languages. We are looking for submissions that cover all the phases of language development, including definition, testing, evaluation, and maintenance of modeling languages. We also welcome papers that discuss challenges and new trends. Some of the issues that we would like to see addressed in this workshop are experience-based findings on:
- Approaches to identify language concepts
- Tradeoffs between different language structures
- Processes for language definition
- Language structures that minimize the modeling need (and modeling time)
- Keeping models compact, consistent, reusable
- Testing modeling languages
- Creating notations for models, error annotation, different usage situations etc.
- Ways to integrate modeling languages
- Demonstration of modeling languages (and their related tooling, generators etc).
