General Information ------------------- The 17th International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies - Ada-Europe 2012 will take place in Stockholm, Sweden. Following its traditional style, the conference will span a full week, including, from Tuesday to Thursday, three days of parallel scientific, technical and industrial programs, along with parallel tutorials and workshops on Monday and Friday. Schedule -------- 28 November 2011: Submission of regular papers, tutorial and workshop proposals 12 January 2012: Submission of industrial presentation proposals 3 February 2012: Notification of acceptance to all authors 2 March 2012: Camera-ready version of regular papers required 11 May 2012: Industrial presentations, tutorial and workshop material required Topics ------ The conference has successfully established itself as an international forum for providers, practitioners and researchers into reliable software technologies. The conference presentations will illustrate current work in the theory and practice of the design, development and maintenance of long-lived, high-quality software systems for a variety of application domains. The program will allow ample time for keynotes, Q&A sessions, panel discussions and social events. Participants will include practitioners and researchers representing industry, academia and government organizations active in the promotion and development of reliable software technologies. To mark the completion of the technical work for the Ada 2012 standard revision process, contributions that discuss the potential of the revised language are sought after. In parallel, facing the challenges presented to the development of reliable concurrent software, multicore programming models is added to the conference topics of interest. Call for Regular Papers ----------------------- Authors of regular papers which are to undergo peer review for acceptance are invited to submit original contributions. Paper submissions shall be in English, complete and not exceeding 14 LNCS-style pages in length. Authors should submit their work via the EasyChair conference system (http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=adaeurope2012). The format for submission is solely PDF. Should you have problems to comply with format and submission requirements, please contact the Program Chairs. Proceedings ----------- The conference proceedings will be published in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series by Springer, and will be available at the start of the conference. The authors of accepted regular papers shall prepare camera-ready submissions in full conformance with the LNCS style, not exceeding 14 pages and strictly by March 2, 2012. For format and style guidelines authors should refer to the following URL: http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html. Failure to comply and to register for the conference by that date will prevent the paper from appearing in the proceedings. The conference is ranked class A in the CORE ranking, is among the top quarter of CiteSeerX Venue Impact Factor, and listed in DBLP, SCOPUS and Web of Science Conference Proceedings Citation index, among others. Awards ------ Ada-Europe will offer honorary awards for the best regular paper and the best presentation. Call for Industrial Presentations --------------------------------- The conference also seeks industrial presentations which deliver value and insight, but may not fit the selection process for regular papers. Authors of industrial presentations are invited to submit a short overview (at least 1 page in size) of the proposed presentation by January 12, 2012. Please follow the submission instructions on the conference website. The Industrial Committee will review the proposals and make the selection. The authors of selected presentations shall prepare a final short abstract and submit it by May 11, 2012, aiming at a 20-minute talk. The authors of accepted presentations will be invited to submit corresponding articles for publication in the Ada User Journal, which will host the proceedings of the Industrial Program of the Conference. Call for Tutorials ------------------ Tutorials should address subjects that fall within the scope of the conference and may be proposed as either half- or full-day events. Proposals should include a title, an abstract, a description of the topic, a detailed outline of the presentation, a description of the presenter's lecturing expertise in general and with the proposed topic in particular, the proposed duration (half day or full day), the intended level of the tutorial (introductory, intermediate, or advanced), the recommended audience experience and background, and a statement of the reasons for attending. Proposals should be submitted by e-mail to the Tutorial Chair. The authors of accepted full-day tutorials will receive a complimentary conference registration as well as a fee for every paying participant in excess of 5; for half-day tutorials, these benefits will be accordingly halved. The Ada User Journal will offer space for the publication of summaries of the accepted tutorials. Call for Workshops ------------------ Workshops on themes that fall within the conference scope may be proposed. Proposals may be submitted for half- or full-day events, to be scheduled at either end of the conference week. Workshop proposals should be submitted to the Conference Chair. The workshop organizer shall also commit to preparing proceedings for timely publication in the Ada User Journal. Call for Exhibitors ------------------- The commercial exhibition will span the three days of the main conference. Vendors and providers of software products and services should contact the Conference Chair for information and for allowing suitable planning of the exhibition space and time. Researchers and practitioners from all over the world meet to discuss latest advances on media technology, HCI, systems& technology, media studies, and content creation. This call invites proposals for workshops and tutorials (see details below) which need to be submitted through the conference submission system: https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=euroitv2012 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Workshop proposals The purpose of workshops is to provide an informal setting where participants have the opportunity to discuss specific EuroITV topics in an atmosphere that fosters the active exchange of ideas. To encourage interaction, each workshop will be limited to 30 participants and ample time must be allotted for general discussion. Arrange in the schedule at least half of the time for discussion, interaction or creative exercises (presentations should be minimal, and take up not more than half of the workshop time). The workshop should result in a poster (created either during the workshop itself, if there is enough time, or after the workshop by the organizers) that can be displayed in the poster area and will be explained to interested conference attendees by one of the organizers or attendees during the Poster Session. Accepted workshops might be cancelled if too few attendees (less than 6) register for the workshop. Workshop proposals should be a maximum of 2 pages, are not anonymized, and should contain the following information: - A brief technical description of the workshop, specifying the workshop goals and the technical issues that will be its focus. - A discussion of why and to whom the workshop is of interest. - A preliminary workshop agenda and a proposed schedule for organizing the workshop. This should include a brief description of how the organizers intend to encourage an atmosphere appropriate for a workshop, highlighting how you will stimulate interaction and creativity. - The names and email addresses of the proposed workshop organizing committee. In this sense, business networking is increasing exponentially and the number of products/services available online for businesses and consumers are also growing steadily. A question that arises from the current growth of electronic markets and business networking is whether and how future Internet technologies such as the so called Web 2.0, the semantic web (also named as Web 3.0) and cloud computing will bring new forms of business value creation activities, new business models or deep changes in our society. In the last few years, there has been an increasing focus on social software applications and services as a result of the rapid development of the Web 2.0 concepts. These web sites allow knowledge sharing and the creation of knowledge by the interaction of users via blogs, wikis, forums and online social networks. However, traditional web sites are designed to be read by people, not machines. In this sense, the advent of the Web 3.0 has emerged in the form of new promising tools for information and data engineering. The Web 3.0 facilitates that computers can interpret information, so they can perform more of the tedious work involved in finding, combining, and acting upon information on the web. In this sense, the Web 3.0 is driving the evolution of the current Web by enabling users to find, share, and combine information more easily. Still other Internet tools and services such as cloud computing are arising nowadays. It involves the delivery of computing (shared resources and software) over the Internet as a service rather than a product. Cloud computing will surely affect business networking and a number of new services will be available online to purchase. Having said all that, the evolving of these Future Internet technologies will imply however not only the redesign of the networking infrastructure and its services, but also the way how businesses, consumers and governments interact electronically. This profound shift will bring, among others, several challenges and issues related to security, trust, mobility or scalability. Thus, the research community must address the challenges, threats and opportunities of Future Internet technologies and provide solutions and guidance to current and future managerial, social and legal issues. This special issue seeks to make a broad inter-disciplinary contribution to the literature in this area. The objective of this special issue is to attract high quality manuscripts from both researchers and practitioners focusing on analyzing whether and how Future Internet applications might transform today's electronic markets and business networking practices through, for instance, new forms of business value creation activities, new business models or through deep changes in our society. In such settings we find: - persons are considered in all her/his complexity and placed at the center of educational contexts and scenarios increasingly ubiquitous, complex, organic; - the perimeter of the physical space, in which the educational experiences develop, becomes increasingly undefined, liquid and host more and more nomadic and informal practices that cross glocalities characterized by a high density of social interactions; - technologies, increasingly embedded into the everyday spaces and artifacts, make the places not only more sensitive but also responsive and, potentially, co-evolutionary (TEP - Technology Enhanced Places) giving rise to new mixed landscapes in which one can experiment, seamless, the integration of physicality and virtuality. This special issue of the IxD&A journal looks for contributions that, starting from the current state of the art, are able to: a) imagine a realistic future of TEE that should be applicable in real contexts; b) induce a fruitful encounter between disciplines, to the benefit of the centrality of the educational experiences and of the expectations of the individuals Contributions can describe (but are not limited to): * realistic futuristic models for educational systems / settings / concepts / classrooms, * empirical evaluations and educational experiences with existing systems / settings / concepts / classrooms * the role of context in new systems / settings / concepts / classrooms and related models / experiences SUBMISSION PROCEDURE The manuscripts should be submitted either in .doc or in .rtf format. All papers will be blindly peer-reviewed by two reviewers. November 2011 findet bereits zum neunten Mal Deutschlands größte Fachkonferenz zum Thema Informations- und Datenqualität – die German Information Quality Management Conference (GIQMC) – in Bad Soden / Taunus statt. Dr. Gerd Wolfram, Geschäftsführer der METRO SYSTEMS GmbH wird in diesem Jahr die Konferenz mit einer Keynote unter der Überschrift „Der Umgang mit Daten und Informationen im nationalen und internationalen Umfeld“ eröffnen. Dabei wird Herr Dr. Wolfram darüber referieren, inwieweit Standards helfen den Informationsaustausch zwischen den beteiligten Partnern zu verbessern.
