Introduction
------------
The Internet, Web 2.0, consumer-generated social media, and new advanced
data, text, and web mining techniques have created tremendous business
opportunities; however the potential risk and security concerns are also
equally alarming. Research of relevance to enterprise risk and security
assessment and analysis has gained significant interests among MIS, CS,
and business researchers. Through large-scale Web enabled content
collection (e.g., corporate reports, news, consumer feedback, corporate
blogs and forums, brand sentiment, etc.) and mining (e.g., trends,
security threats, negative sentiment, illicit relationships, etc.),
companies and industries will be better positioned to identify potential
risks and security concerns.
This special issue aims at soliciting research submissions of practical
and novel applications, techniques, algorithms, methods, and practices
in data, text, and Web mining that will make a contribution to knowledge
in enterprise risk and security management. Topics of interest include
but are not limited to the following:
- Data, text and web mining for enterprise risk and security
- Information security management standards
- Information systems security policies
- Behavior issues in information systems security
- Fraud detection and prevention
- Cyber crime and social impacts
- Corporate going concerns and risks
- Accounting and IT auditing for risk assessment
- Corporate governance and monitoring
- Board activism, structure, and interlocking
- Corporate sentiment surveillance
- Market influence analytics and media intelligence
- Consumer-generated media and social media analytics

***************** Call For Contributions *****************
Onward! 09 The conference for new ideas, new paradigms,
and reflections on everything to do with programming and software.
Sponsored by ACM SIGPLAN in cooperation with SIGSOFT
Co-located with OOPSLA 2009
Orlando, Florida October 25-29 2009
http://www.onward-conference.org
*** Deadline approaching ***
June 26, 2009 Submission of short research papers
July 2, 2009 Submission of films
***********************************************************
Onward! is a place for highly original ideas about how technological
advances and new applications are going to shape computational fabrics of
the future. Onward! is more radical, more visionary, and more open than
other conferences to not so well proven but well argued ideas. We welcome
different ways of thinking about, approaching, and reporting on
programming languages and software engineering research. Onward! takes a
broad and inclusive view of computation and seeks contributions from all
fields represented at OOPSLA and other software conferences. Onward!
particularly encourages contributions influenced by other disciplines such
as art, philosophy, psychology, sociology, anthropology, biology,
economics, communities, politics, ethics, or any other human endeavor.
Anything to do with programming and software can be submitted. Anything!
Onward! is innovative not only with regard to its topics and ideas but
also to the contribution formats. This year, we seek high quality
submissions in one of the following categories:
*** RESEARCH PAPERS (Due June 26, 2009) ***
While regular research papers tell what work has been done and validated
in recent years, Onward! papers show what exciting work is being done
right now. Onward! accepts papers that talk about innovative research work
that is early in its life or is not in the mainstream. We request
submissions of position papers that propose bold directions of research
and advocate nontraditional methodologies. An Onward! paper does not need
to contain a fully worked out theory or implemented system, but must be
well-thought-out and compelling in its vision or uniqueness of thinking.
Papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published in the
OOPSLA 2009 Proceedings, and will appear in the ACM Digital Library.
*** FILMS ***
Years ago, sophisticated software systems had to be constructed by highly
trained programmers who understood the ins and outs of software
development. Today, with the advent of new mashup technologies and service
architectures, these barriers have been lowered. The goal of this track is
to explore new developments in how film and other narrative multimedia
technologies can be used to enrich the software development process.
Descriptions of accepted films will be published in the OOPSLA 2009
Companion, and will appear in the ACM Digital Library.
*** ESSAYS (submission closed) ***
*** WORKSHOPS (submission closed) ***
*** HOW TO SUBMIT ***
Electronic submission is required through the Onward! homepage. Text
submissions must follow the standard ACM SIGPLAN format. Research papers
should not exceed 8 pages. Submissions must not have been previously
published, and must not be concurrently submitted for publication
elsewhere (including journals and formal proceedings of conferences and
workshops). Violation of this policy will result in desk-rejection of the
submission.
*** GENERAL CHAIR ***

Guest Editor:
Marianna Sigala, PhD, Department of Business Administration,
University of the Aegean, Greece
Manuscripts are solicited for a special issue of the international Journal
of Enterprise Information Management Web 2.0 in travel and tourism:
transforming and redefining business models and operations. Articles
published in this special issue will present current, state-of-art
research and critical thinking, designed to transfer to academics and
professionals alike the necessary knowledge in the specific area of the
use and management of Web 2.0 applications by travel and tourism firms.
Web 2.0 is fundamentally changing the way travellers and tourists search,
find, read and trust as well as (collaboratively) produce information
about tourism suppliers and destinations. Moreover, web 2.0 applications
(such as collaborative trip planning tools, three dimensions virtual
spaces) empower travellers to engage in the design, production and
promotion of tour packages, cultural events, hotel rooms and other
travel-tourism products and services. Travellers 2.0 become and they
expect to be active prosumers (producers and consumers) and marketers of
personalised travel experiences. As a result, travel and tourism companies
need to change and redefine their business models and operations in order
to incorporate travellers and their social networks as well as to manage
and exploit travellers' social intelligence and user-generated content in
value creation activities.
This special issue of the Journal of Enterprise Information Management
aims to advance the evolution, use and management of web 2.0 applications
and innovative e-business models in travel and tourism that exploit and
incorporate travellers and their intelligence within business operations
and customer value creation activities.
The objectives of the special issue are to publish findings and exchange
knowledge on the development of new research theories, methodologies and
applications. Thus, theoretical, empirical, experimental, case studies and
policy-oriented contributions are welcome, but all contributions should
clearly address the practical implications of the research reported.
Topics
This special issue seeks leading-edge research investigating the use and
management of web 2.0 applications and tools transforming and redefining
the business models and operations of travel and tourism firms.
Topics of papers may include (but they are not limited):
web 2.0 and traveller enabled and supported business processes and
operations
web 2.0 and co-creation customer value practices: strategies, models,
benefits and implementation
travellers' and social networks involvement in new product - service

This workshop will bring together researchers and industry participants
who are involved with the design, development, and implementation of novel
secure ubiquitous applications which can be used in heterogeneous computer
systems and mobile devices.
In the last few years we have witnessed a significant increase in the use
of the computers and mobile devices in Ubiquitous Computing Systems. While
this is a welcome trend, security concerns are becoming one of the major
problems. It is affecting the adoption rate and usage of these systems.
Unless deliberate efforts are taken to secure these systems from design to
implementation most of development achieved to date may not be realised
and rolled out to the real world.
We welcome original, high-quality research contributions that advance the
state of the art in the design, development, deployment, evaluation and
understanding of secure ubiquitous computing systems.
TOPICS OF INTEREST INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
* Privacy concerns in Ubiquitous Computing Systems
* Trust concerns in Ubiquitous Computing Systems
* Design principles of secure context-aware applications
* Adaptation of secure input and output to the situation
* How does security address the legal and ethical issues in emerging
ubiquitous computing systems?
* Tools and techniques for designing, developing, implementing, and

Biological systems contain a set of effective sensory systems that are
structurally functional and modular and possess inherent complexities yet
well organized. If the features and characteristics are studied and
applied in computing, it will result in significant advances in computing
paradigms. There is little research on the application of sensory systems
in computing paradigms. The underlying purpose of the workshop is to
induce researchers to work and submit research on the experimental,
architectural and theoretical focus on the application of sensory systems.
Sensory system principles and concept needs to be captured and applied in
the design of novel computing systems.
The proposed workshop will lead to introduce the state-of-the art research
in sensory systems from different perspectives; and to design the sensory
systems to optimize the existing and to develop innovative computing and
communications paradigms.

1 - Description
Building on top a first successful edition in 2007, a second edition of
the ACW workshop is now being proposed. This new edition resumes the
topics proposed in the previous edition of the workshop and it aims at
renewing the success in terms of quality of submitted paper and discussion
during the event. It is now more focussed on knowledge engineering issues
underlying collaborative works and it aims at a broader range of
applications from business intelligence to eLearning.
In todays challenging global market, companies have to innovate in order
to improve competitiveness and business performance. They must bring
innovative products to market more effectively and more quickly to
maximize customer interest and sales. The pressures to reduce time,
improve product quality, and lower costs have not gone away; they are
being reaffirmed and folded into programs that focus on delivering the
right product. Companies must continue to enter new markets with
innovative products. This requires leveraging and reusing the
product-related intellectual capital created by partners working together.
Business innovation must occur in several dimensions: project
organization, product definition, production engineering, ergonomics
design, environmental impacts, etc.
Several approaches exist for supporting companies in this innovation
challenge. They are mainly based upon Knowledge Management techniques.
Agents and Multi-Agent Systems may offer solutions to model (multiple)
organisations involved in collaborative design activities. Agents may also
support the capitalization process and constitute knowledge bases
transparently for the users.
This workshop will focus on the use of agents and multi-agent systems for
modelling and supporting collaborative activities in all working contexts,
such as, design activities, eLearning, etc.
