Dear Colleagues,
We kindly invite you to submit your manuscripts to the minitrack: Moving
Beyond Traditional Constructs in Information Security Research, under
the Information Security and Privacy track of the 2021 AMCIS conference,
which will take place on 09-13 August, 2021 in Montréal, Canada.
Track: Information Security and Privacy (SIGSEC)
Minitrack: Moving Beyond Traditional Constructs in Information Security
Research
DESCRIPTION
Employees are organizations' core assets that interact with Information
Systems (IS) in order to perform their tasks; however numerous studies
have reported that employees noncompliance of IS security policies is
the main cause of security breaches within organizations. Over the last
decade, the IS research community has contributed substantial research
in order to understand the causes underlying IS security noncompliance.
Most of this research draws upon the General Deterrence Theory and
Theory of Planned Behavior theory to explain the behavior that motivates
IS security compliance. Even though the existing research has
significantly contributed to the understanding of the phenomenon of IS
security noncompliance, several studies have reported non-convergent
findings. The purpose of this mini-track is to provide a forum to
present and discuss theoretical models, methodologies, and empirical
cases concerning employees' behaviors and noncompliance with IS security
policies.
This mini-track aims to investigate new theories and constructs that
have not been explored in IS security compliance literature. Therefore,
we invite innovative papers that explore new constructs and theories
that address a variety of issues pertaining employees' behaviors towards
IS security in organizations. The goal is to advance our understanding
of the IS security noncompliance phenomenon. Cross-cultural studies or
comparative studies highlighting differences and similarities regarding
employees' behaviors with IS security in emerging and developing
countries are also welcome.

CFP - MDPI Future Internet Journal - Human–Computer Interaction Models
and Experiences for Internet of Things Systems and Edge Computing.
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/futureinternet/special_issues/HCL_ME_IOT_EdgeC…
A special issue of Future Internet (ISSN 1999-5903). Deadline for
manuscript submissions: 28 February 2021.
-.-.-.-.-.-
Dear Colleague,
as Guest Editors, we cordially invite you to submit a manuscript for
consideration and possible publication in the Special Issue on the Open
Access Future Internet Journal (impact factor 2.8) dedicated to
Human–Computer Interaction Models and Experiences for Internet of Things
Systems and Edge Computing.
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/futureinternet/special_issues/HCL_ME_IOT_EdgeC…
Topic:
At present, complex IoT systems encompass intelligent devices that
produce a large amount of data. These systems can be studied from
different perspectives and at any level of the typical multilayer stack
used to manage them. These systems are increasingly autonomous and able
to make decisions. The more systems become autonomous, the more it
becomes relevant to have software and models, but also report on case
studies and best practices. This enables us to understand and manage the
human factor and the implications that the increased system autonomy has
on people.
This Special Issue looks at this human factor in the processes across
the entire range, from data production to the business models used to
monetize the created value. In this context, human–computer interaction
therefore has a broad meaning that includes all the different aspects of
having humans in the loop, somehow involved in the processes executed
over and by the complex systems.
In this respect, we welcome contributions that aim to share
technologies, policies, or heuristics from either a theoretical or
practical point of view. We also welcome case studies for any relevant
vertical domain. Cases from Health, Factory of Future, Media, and
Fintech are particularly welcome.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- HCI Trust and Acceptability
Reducing information asymmetry to increase human trust in AI-based
systems; Models and experiences of risk analysis in HCI systems to
increase human trust; Models and experiences of users’ understanding and
acceptability of complex and AI-based ICT systems; Integration of
explainable AI into established workflows and industrial processes.
-HCI Education/learning
Innovative instruments, processes, and experiences to educate workers of
the immersive use of AI-based complex systems; Innovative instruments,
processes, and experiences to educate the general public of everyday
life in a pervasive AI populated world; AI-based learning instruments to
explain and increase the acceptability of complex AI-based systems.
- HCI Cross-field support.
Novel experiences, processes, and models to bridge the gap between
social science and ICT for the complete assessment of HCI systems;
Instruments and experience to support data scientists in the design and
configuration of AI-based decision support systems.
-HCI Practical Experiences and Business Cases.
Impact on business models of users in the multiple capacities of data
producers, data processors, and data consumers in complex AI-based

CALL FOR PAPERS
Special issue on:
76/data/v1> Bright Information and Communication Technologies in the 21st
Century
The advancement of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the
21st century provides remarkable benefits to society. At the same time, the
dark sides of ICTs including threats to cybersecurity are also on the
increase. For example, as a result of cybersecurity breaches, Equifax was
hacked, which affected over 148 million Americans (Kennedy, 2017) and the
Facebook security breach exposed over 50 million user accounts (Isaac and
Frenkel, 2018). Considering the sophistication of ICTs in the 21st century
and its impact on our economy and national security, researchers should pay
more attention to investments in preventive cybersecurity mechanisms (Miaoui
and Boudriga, 2019) to minimize the effect of dark sides of ICTs use and
investigate bright concepts and approaches to drastically reduce its
undesirable effects (Lee, 2015; Lee et al., 2020). To respond to this need,
numerous researchers and practitioners in the Information Systems community
(e.g., Lee, et al., 2018) have discussed the vision of the Bright Internet
and contemplated a broad coverage of technical, managerial, economic, and
policy solutions towards developing global trust building in computing
environment, with emphasis on preventive cybersecurity (
<http://brightinternet.org/> http://brightinternet.org/).
This call for papers invites original contributions, reflecting broad areas
of technical and empirical researches to provide managerial and policy
implications in the areas of bright ICTs and trusted computing. Researchers
may employ any applicable IS research methods (analytical modeling,
experiments, case study, computational models, design science, survey,
etc.). Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following:
* Cybersecurity issues currently encountered by countries, companies,
and individual citizens, and what can be done about these issues?
* The status of global cybersecurity and security governance
* The next generation Internet, and the principles that Bright
Internet should adopt
* Required regulations to establish the goals of Bright Internet
* Novel and useful methodological approaches to establish Bright
Internet
* Novel preventive security mechanisms for deterring anonymous
sources of cyber threat
* Security architecture and protocols for the future Internet
* Critical success factors for market-driven bright cloud networks
* Necessary protocols and technologies to implement Bright Internet
* Trust and psychological aspects of the Bright internet
* Privacy concerns and privacy preservation in the Bright internet
* Fostering collaboration and innovation through the Bright internet

COMPSAC 2021
INTELLIGENT & RESILIENT COMPUTING FOR A COLLABORATIVE WORLD
https://ieeecompsac.computer.org/2021/
JULY 12-16, 2021
***CALL FOR PAPERS***
MAIN CONFERENCE PAPER SUBMISSION DUE DATE EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 18, 2021
Computers, Software and Applications. It is a major international forum
for academia, industry, and government to discuss research results and
advancements, emerging challenges, and future trends in computer and
software technologies and applications. The theme of COMPSAC 2021 is
“Intelligent and Resilient Computing for a Collaborative World”.
The global COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed how we work with
each other on a regular basis. Limitations on in-person interactions
have caused a dramatic increase in our use and reliance on collaborative
technology to enable normal communication. Family and friends have
conversations via video chat, students utilize online learning instead
of in-person instruction, and medical professionals treat patients
remotely. These are only a few examples of how interactive software and
applications have provided the foundation for continued normal
day-to-day activities. But as use of these tools has rapidly
accelerated, some limitations and shortcomings have also been
discovered. Many components support online collaborative services,
including bare-metal hardware, massive back-end storage, and high-speed,
high-throughput networking, as well as the software required to
administer these components efficiently. In many cases, the resilience
of these underpinnings has been tested by unprecedented levels of
demand, stressing systems and exposing weaknesses. As computer
researchers, we see these weaknesses as opportunities to fill gaps in
how software and applications are developed, utilized, and supported.
How to improve the resiliency of these components across a wide range of
use domains is a significant challenge we suddenly find ourselves
facing. How do we design systems that are able to withstand the stress
of global-scale use, and still provide robust and secure services to
end-users? For over 40 years, COMPSAC has been an outlet for researchers
to share and discuss innovative and novel approaches to problems such as
these, and we look forward to hearing your ideas in 2021!
COMPSAC 2021, organized as a tightly integrated union of symposia, will
focus on technical aspects of issues relevant to computers, software and
applications, with an emphasis on topics related to improving
collaboration with intelligence and resilience. The technical program
will include keynote addresses, research papers, industrial case
studies, fast abstracts, a doctoral symposium, poster sessions, and
workshops and tutorials on emerging and important topics related to the
conference theme. Highlights of the conference will include plenary and
specialized panels that will address the technical challenges facing
researchers and practitioners who are driving fundamental changes in
intelligent systems and applications. Panels will also address cultural
and societal challenges with respect to computing and collaboration
raised by rapidly changing communication norms.
***SUBMISSION***
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research work, as
well as industrial practice reports. Simultaneous submission to other
publication venues is not permitted except as highlighted in the COMPSAC
2021 J1C2 & C1J2 program. All submissions must adhere to IEEE Publishing
