ACM UMAP Workshop - HAAPIE 2021 1st CALL FOR PAPERS
The 6th International Workshop on Human Aspects in Adaptive and
Personalized Interactive Environments, in conjunction with the 29th ACM
Conference on User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization (ACM UMAP
2021), ONLINE from Utrecht, the Netherlands, 21-25 June 2021.
Full details are available online: http://haapie.cs.ucy.ac.cy
# IMPORTANT DATES
Submission deadline: 26 Macrh 2021
Notification: 19 April 2021
Camera-ready: 07 May 2021
# MOTIVATION & GOALS
State-of-the-art approaches in adaptation and personalization research
consider user models that mostly maintain information regarding the
“traditional” user characteristics (i.e., experience, knowledge,
interests, context), and related contextual or technology aspects (i.e.,
displays, connectivity, processing power). While modeling these factors
has shown significant improvements and benefits to the end-users in
terms of user experience, there is an urgent need for a step change
signifying the further engagement into research that will produce more
holistic human-centered practices. The vision is to highlight the
“human-in-the-loop” approach considering intrinsic user characteristics
and abilities, like perceptual, personality, visual, cognitive and
emotional factors adhering the theories of individual differences.
Moreover, recent studies show the need for broadening the scope of
diversity parameters to include characteristics such as motivation,
self-actualization, and socio-cultural differences.
The overarching goal of HAAPIE 2021 is to bring together researchers and
practitioners working in areas of human aspects in adaptation and
personalization, and aims to:
- Explore state-of-the-art and new implicit and explicit methods and
techniques for modeling a broad range of human factors of users and
behaviors – both separately and in possible combinations (e.g.,
cognitive abilities and age; motivation and cultural differences);
- Explore personalization methods, computational intelligence
algorithms, recommendation models, and real-time paradigms that can
improve the efficiency and effectiveness of human-centered user tasks
and interventions;
- Compare challenges and experiences in different real world contexts
and applications (e.g., decision support, learning, wellbeing,
security), where a holistic view on human aspects is needed to provide a
positive user experience; and
- Identify theoretical and computational models for the design,
development and evaluation of human aspects in adaptation and
personalization.
The added value will be to shape new human-centered adaptive interactive
environments and personalized platforms that can contribute towards
viable long-term solutions.
# TOPICS OF INTEREST
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Human-centered Modeling, Adaptation Methods and Techniques
- Influence of Human Factors on Interactive Systems for Personalization
- Usage of Human Factors for Personalization

Subject: [wkwi] Cfp AI Applications in Digital Innovation and
Entrepreneurship (SIG DITE) @AMCIS 2021

Dear colleagues,
we are very happy to invite papers and participation to our AMCIS 2021
mini track on “*AI Applications in Digital Innovation and
Entrepreneurship (SIG DITE)*”.
Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are considered a key driver of
the fourth industrial revolution (Schwab, 2016). They are becoming
increasingly ubiquitous in everyday life and almost all industry
sectors. As artificial intelligence (AI) technologies mature, we see AI
applications rising beyond traditional domains such as robotics, image
recognition, natural language processing, and virtual agents
(Brynjolfsson & Mcafee, 2017; Iansiti & Lakhani, 2020). Increasingly, AI
applications not only automate tasks that have traditionally been
performed entirely by humans but also augment them (Raisch & Krakowski,
2020). This augmentation potential opens up entirely new pathways and
opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation (e.g., Murray, Rhymer,
& Sirmon, 2020; Nambisan, 2016; Yoo, Henfridsson, & Lyytinen, 2010). As
a result, research on digital entrepreneurship and innovation is
increasingly interested in understanding how AI technologies enable
entrepreneurship and innovation, result as its outcome, or provide a
context for it (e.g., von Briel 2020, Nambisan 2017). However, research
on the role of AI technologies in entrepreneurship and innovation is
still in its infancy (e.g., Chalmers, MacKenzie, & Carter, 2020). For
example, we know little about how material characteristics of AI
applications, such as self-learning, data-dependency or black boxing,
relate to digital innovation and entrepreneurship. Neither do we
understand how interactions between AI applications and humans, such as
designers or users, impact innovation and entrepreneurship.

The hypertext paradigm has transformed the way we store and transfer
knowledge and how we think about information and access it. We access
the same sources via multiple devices, ranging from smart watches and
smart phones to laptops. Information and transactions become ever more
visual, with video increasingly replacing traditional text-based web
pages. Particularly, we use interactive hypertext, news feeds and videos
for getting things done, such as planning a trip, managing our finances,
interacting with colleagues, friends and family, being productive and
creative.
At ACMHT 2021, we aim to further discuss, reflect, investigate and look
forward on all of these developments, from the mixed perspectives of
technology, users and society.
·What trends can be observed?
·What societal issues arise or can now be investigated?
·How can the user experience be further improved?
·What alternative, creative and fun novel applications does hypertext
enable and facilitate?

Enterprise Systems – Integration and Transformation Challenges in the
Era of Digitalization: Managerial and Technological Perspectives
*** Minitrack Chairs: Dr. Christian Leyh and Marko Ott; Technische
Universität Dresden; Chair of Information Systems, esp. IS in
Manufacturing and Commerce
*** Minitrack Description:
Due to fast changes in the economic environment enterprises face
numerous external as well as internal challenges which in turn require
effective governance and coordination of internal but also
intercorporate business processes. Therefore, the successful
implementation, adoption, integration and use of suitable software
systems are essential for coping with these challenges. These systems
have to be easily adjustable to allow fast reactions to continuous
business changes as well as to new disruptive technologies that emerge
within digitization processes. As a consequence, there is a huge demand
for adaptable enterprise software. This especially applies to enterprise
resource planning (ERP) systems as fully integrated and comprehensive
solutions for supporting business and digitalization processes on a
company-wide level. However, a tendency towards more architectural
flexibility regarding enterprise systems and also a certain rejection of
strongly integrated approaches can be observed. Today, enterprises
increasingly aim to support individual business areas with separate
area- or task-specific systems. This results, despite past efforts
towards system consolidation, in heterogeneous and complex software
landscapes consisting of different software system types and components
(e.g., CRM, SRM, SCM or function-oriented components like machine
learning systems or large-scale databases) with challenging integration
requirements. With powerful end-user tools and emerging disrupting
technologies (like cloud computing, financial technologies (FinTech),
internet of things (IoT) and service-oriented architecture (SOA)) at
hand managing these landscapes that encompass totally different strands
of technology becomes even more demanding.
However, benefitting from these chances and new technologies calls for
new management and integration approaches. Despite the experience of
several decades, implementation-, adjustment- or integration-projects on
the company-level still heavily strain the entire company and its
resources as they imply severe intrusions into the enterprises´
structures and processes. Thus, a comprehensive and well-designed
project management embedded in long-term (digital) transformation
approaches still is an essential component of any significant change in
the enterprise system landscape.
This minitrack aims to discuss various facets and characteristics of
enterprise system transformation in the light of digital disruption and
the resulting integration challenges caused by new technologies such as
cloud computing, IoT or FinTech. Therefore, we invite papers (empirical
and theoretical) that examine those topics from technological,
organizational or managerial perspectives.
*** Potential paper topics (but not limited to): • Enterprise systems
and business processes supported by cloud computing
• Blockchain-based financial (FinTech) and trust services integrated
within enterprise systems
• Enterprise systems and internet of things (IoT) services
• Issues around ERP on demand, ERP‐as‐a‐service, ERP in the cloud,
Mobile ERP
• Management of the software development process during an enterprise
system implementation in a cloud environment
• Enterprise infrastructure shifts due to digital disruption
• Critical success and failure factors, risk management in enterprise
system implementation and integration projects • Cross‐company
integration of enterprise systems
• Effects of technological innovations (such as in memory computing)
• Benefits, Barriers, Costs of FinTech /SOA / cloud technology
• ERP and/or FinTech / SOA / Cloud case studies
• Organizational, political, and cultural barriers related with ERP/ Fin
Tech/ SOA/ cloud computing adoption
• New project or IT management approaches in the context of enterprise
system landscapes (i.e. Lean IT management)

XP2021 3rd International Workshop on Agile Transformation (ATRANS) - CfP
Agile transformations are carried out in organisations to improve
organisational agility in projects, business units, and across the whole
organisation. Organisations are undergoing agile transformations due to the
influence and success of agile software development methods in IT contexts,
and due to the influence of business and management leaders who want their
organisations to achieve whole-organisation agility. Currently, knowledge
of agile transformation is scattered across software engineering,
information systems, and management research. The aim of the workshop is to
achieve knowledge transfer about agile transformations between
practitioners and researchers, and between the domains of agile IT and
business agility. A second aim is also to develop a research agenda for
agile transformation informed jointly by practitioners and researchers.
The community interested in this workshop will be practitioners who are
involved in small and large-scale agile transformations (pre, during, and
post transformation), and who want to gain knowledge about transformation
or contribute their experiential knowledge to the community. The community
will be researchers who are exploring agile transformation to develop
guidelines for practice and theoretical contributions to knowledge.
ATRANS 2021 aims to transfer interdisciplinary ideas between practice and
academia about agile transformation, to identify novel areas for research,
to extend and deepen the existing research, and to generate ideas for
practice-based theory to guide future research and practice. The workshop
will engage with practitioner experience and academic research to support
cross-fertilisation of ideas. The outcome will be a meaningful research
agenda for 2021 and beyond.
The workshop will be a half-day with paper presentations, interactive group
discussion to generate cross fertilisation of ideas to generate a future
research agenda, and a panel discussion with researchers and practitioners
on current topics in agile transformation.
ATRANS 2021 welcomes cross-disciplinary academic research and industry
experience papers.
The topics of interest to ATRANS 2021 include, but are not restricted to:
• Organisational agility
• Factors that enable or inhibit agile transformations
• Agile transformation under global pandemic conditions
• Human factors in agile transformations
• Organisational culture in agile transformations
• Leadership in agile transformation
• Sustaining agile philosophy and practices during and beyond transformation
• The rationale for initiating agile transformation
• Defining and measuring success of agile transformation
• Coordinating agile transformations

CALL FOR PAPERS
AMCIS 2021
Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship
Virtual Conference
August 9-13, 2021
MINI-TRACK: The role of IT identity in IT adoption and use
TRACK: Adoption and Diffusion of IT (SIGADIT)
DESCRIPTION
Because information technology (IT) use is the crucial connection
between IT investments and organizational performance, IS researchers
have focused on adoption and diffusion of IT and how it is utilized by
individuals. To that end, recent theoretical work introduced IT identity
- representing the extent to which an individual views use of an IT as
integral to his or her sense of self - as a means to explain richer,
adoption and IT use behaviors. IT identity's utility extends to a wide
range of topics relating to how people express, maintain and expand
their self-concepts in relation to IT. Accordingly, this mini track
calls for further research that considers IT identity as an integral
part of models and research approaches seeking to explain IT adoption
and use.
We welcome research using a variety of methodologies, and at all levels
of analysis, such as quantitative methods (experimentation, survey, and
analysis with observational data etc.), case study, theory development,
and design science etc. All research which adds to our understanding how
IT identity can help to explain richer, adoption, or IT use behaviors is
in scope of this minitrack.
Journal Fast Track Opportunity:
High quality and relevant papers from this track will be selected for
fast-tracked development towards Internet Research
(www.emeraldinsight.com/loi/intr<http://www.emeraldinsight.com/loi/intr>).
Selected papers will need to expand in content and length in line with
the requirements for standard research articles published in the
journal. Although the track co-chairs are committed to guiding the
selected papers towards final publication, further reviews may be needed
before final publication decisions can be made. Internet Research (IntR)
is an international and refereed journal that is indexed and abstracted
in major databases (e.g., SSCI, SCI, ABI/INFORM Global), with the impact
factor 4.708 in 2019.

*Dear Author, *
*Happy Valentine’s Day!*
We hope you continue to be safe as we all work through these extraordinary
times and have already published six books since 2018 -
https://ics.events/past-events/.
*You are cordially invited to submit your full paper of 6 - 12 pages.*
The 2021 International Conference on Comprehensible Science (ICCS 2021)
will be held in Eilat, Israel, on June 18-20, 2021. Conference website is
https://ics.events/iccs-2021/.
This conference has always contemplated the two modalities of
participation: face to face and virtual. However, given the current
Coronavirus situation and travel restrictions, at this moment we are
accepting submissions for virtual participation for a while. If the
situation changes and we feel the safety of our participants would not be
at risk, we will start accepting submissions for face-to-face
participation, and those authors who submitted their article for virtual
participation will have the ability to change their participation modality
to face-to-face, if they wish.
Early submissions are greatly appreciated. A single attending author may
present a maximum of two papers onsite/online. The presentation, award
submission and proceedings submission for a paper must all be in English.
