We kindly invite you to submit your papers to the minitrack #4:
Strategic and Competitive Behavior on Digital Platforms
Track: Strategic and Competitive Uses of IT
************************
Digital platforms provide a stage for individuals to engage with each
other and exchange a variety of goods and services. Intra-platform
competition may arise, as there is a rivalry for limited resources on
these platforms. For instance, individuals on social media compete for
attention, entrepreneurs on crowdfunding platforms for investments, and
sellers on online marketplaces for customers. To attract those limited
resources individuals may engage in strategic behavior. Complementor
strategies could include the strategic positioning of offerings (e.g.,
pricing strategies) or opportunistic behaviors towards competitors.
Platform providers may use platform governance mechanisms to allow for
increasing levels of competition with the objective of expanding the
size and variety of its offered goods and services.
This mini-track is open to any kind of submissions both conceptual and
empirical papers that employ a variety of quantitative and qualitative
methodologies.
Possible topics include but are not limited to:
- Strategic and competitive behaviors of individuals for example on…
* …sharing economy platforms
* …crowdfunding platforms
* …gaming platforms
* …social media
- Inter-individualistic differences in strategic behavior of individuals
on platforms
- Factors such as platform governance that may influence intra-platform
competition and individualistic strategic behavior
- Opportunistic behaviors used to try to “game” the system
- Adjustment of behaviors after disruptive events on platforms
************************
Important dates:
* January 06, 2020: System opens for general paper submissions
* February 28, 2020: Deadline for paper submissions. PCS closes for
authors at 5:00 p.m. MST
* April 13, 2020: Notification of initial decision on submitted papers

*Call for Paper - HMD Praxis der Wirtschaftsinformatik*
*HMD Heft 336 – Robotics *
Band 57, Heft 6, Dezember 2020
*Robotics *
Zeitplan
·Einreichung einer Artikelidee / eines Grobkonzeptes bis 31.03.2020
·Einreichung des vollständigen Beitrages bis 30.06.2020
·Übermittlung der Gutachten an Autoren bis ca. 31.08.2020
·Finale Überarbeitung durch Autoren bis 30.09.2020
·Redaktionsschluss: 15.10.2020
·Erscheinungstermin der Printausgabe: ca. 15.12.2020

AMCIS 2020 CFP - Mini-Track: Contemporary Issues in Agile Development
https://amcis2020.aisconferences.org/track-descriptions/#toggle-id-25
Track: Systems Analysis and Design
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA August 12-16, 2020
It is fair to say that agile methodologies – in some form or manner –
have been widely accepted in industry. We are farther along in our
understanding of various aspects of agile development, including but not
limited to its adoption, adaptation, scalability, social aspects,
project management, distributed development, and enterprise agility.
However, the emergence of new technologies, the increase in regulatory
requirements, and the enormous changes that have occurred in the
development landscape present opportunities for new areas of research.
For example, the advent of DevOps and its interplay with agile has
scarcely been empirically investigated. Likewise, agile methodologies
appear to be a natural fit for Business Analytics projects. Yet, there
is not much empirical research on their efficacy on such projects. This
mini-track provides a forum for researchers to address fundamental
issues regarding DevOps and agile development practices as well as
contemporary topics raised by its widespread acceptance and use.
Suggested Topics
* Agile versus traditional project management * Agile methods in
Business Analytics/Dashboarding applications * Knowledge Management in
agile development
* Agile methods - theory versus practice
* Decision-making and governance issues in agile development
* Self-organizing principles/practices of agile teams
* Integrating HCI concepts with agile development * Economics of agile
development
* Role of agile methods in large-scale, mission critical systems
* Scalability of agile projects
* Agile development in regulated environments
* Distributed agile development - challenges, risks, and opportunities
* Lean practices in agile development
* Ability of agile practices to deal with project disruptions
* Theoretical foundations of (agile) software development * Agile in
Open Source Software (OSS) development
* DevOps and agility

-------------------------------------------------
CALL FOR PAPERS
-------------------------------------------------
Automation takes up an increasingly important role in everyday life. The
objective of the workshop is to provide a forum for a holistic view on
design foundations for automated systems in everyday private, public and
professional surroundings. We conceive the workshop as an
interdisciplinary forum for user-centered design and research, taking
inspiration from diverse problem areas and application fields. Given
their current relevance for automation experience, four key aspects
(intelligibility, interventions, interplay, and integrity) will be
addressed in expert talks, participant presentations and group-wise
creative thinking exercises. The workshop will provide a further step
towards a research agenda for comprehensive design and research
approaches that provide a transfer and consolidation across different
application domains, user requirements and system capabilities.
-------------------------------------------------
TOPICS OF INTERST
-------------------------------------------------
Given their current relevance for automation experience, the workshop
will focus on four key aspects of ubiquitous automated systems:
intelligibility, interventions, interplay, and integrity. Corresponding
research questions to be adressed include:
*Intelligibility*
- How can non-expert users obtain an overall understanding of the
reasoning of a system?
- Which styles of communication should be used to convey the state of
a ubiquitous automated system?
- How can findings on reliability displays as well as awareness and
intent communication be integrated amongst different application domains?
- How to enable people with no or little programming skills to
customize the behavior of a system?
*Interplay*
- How to design for an enjoyable interplay of non-expert users and
automated systems?
- How will future forms of collaboration between non-expert users and
automated systems look like?
- How can non-expert users be involved in decision-making processes of
ubiquitous automated systems?
- Which are promising applications for collaboration of humans and
autonomous systems in everyday life?
*Intervention*
- How to communicate human intervention opportunities and potential
consequences?
- How to design for (unobtrusive) awareness of ubiquitous systemsí status?
- How to allow human interventions in complex automated procedures?
- To what extend should users be able to overrule the system behavior?
*Integrity*
- How to design for integrity of automation?
- Is training necessary for interacting with everyday automation?
- What are the interaction design practices to ensure automation
integrity in different types of projects and contexts?
- How to assess automation integrity on user interface/interaction level?
-------------------------------------------------

Dear colleagues,

Conference on Information Systems. The submission deadline is February
28, 2020. AMCIS 2020 will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Digital technologies are often ascribed potentials to disrupt existing
status-quo. Designing and organizing for the resulting digital
disruption holds opportunities for the digital transformation of
aspiring disrupters and threatened incumbents. This mini-track is
interested in both perspectives and welcomes both empirical and
conceptual studies.
Emerging IS research shows that creating or responding to digital
disruption requires substantive strategic and organizational reactions,
which in turn informs their digital transformation choices. Pertinent
questions include - what are the mechanisms for digital disruption? How
should firms organize for digital transformation? How should firms
organize for scaling and generativity? These are but a few questions
that are relevant for this mini track. We encourage conceptual and
empirical insights for advancing both theoretical and practical
knowledge in these domains. For example, digital innovations not only
draw on information technology, they also demand novel designs of
organizational structures and business models to be impactful.
We seek theoretical contributions that help us better understand these
phenomena as well as practice-oriented knowledge and design artifacts
for dealing with or leveraging digital disruption and transforming and
organization.
