When: Nov 3-6, 2020
Where: Vienna, Austria
Submission Deadline: Feb 21, 2020
Notification: Mar 5, 2020
Continuing a long tradition, ER 2020 will host a number of workshops to
be held in conjunction with the main ER 2020 conference. The workshops
will serve as an intensive collaborative forum for exchanging innovative
ideas about conceptual modeling, and for discovering new frontiers for
its use. We specifically invite proposals for interactive workshops on
new, emerging, or established topics in conceptual modeling, or its
application in specific domains. We encourage workshop organizers to
include activities that provide their participants with a true workshop
experience. Topics of interest include foundations of conceptual models,
theories of concepts, ontology-driven conceptual modeling and analysis,
methods and tools for developing, communicating, consolidating, and
evolving conceptual models, and techniques for transforming conceptual
models into effective implementations.
* Submission Guidelines *
Submission is done through EasyChair. Please select the Workshop track
when submitting.

Call for Papers
Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS’20)
August 12-16, 2020
Salt Lake City, Utah
Track: Virtual Communities and Collaboration
Minitrack: Virtual Collaborations for Knowledge Sharing and Learning
Description:
Virtual collaborations can facilitate knowledge sharing and shared
understanding to support learning and training. It also provides
opportunities to interact with experts or peers to facilitate learning.
Virtual environments provide platforms for individuals to collaborate
and acquire information in a variety of domains. These environments
present new channels to educate others on various topics, as well as
learn about a particular domain from others’ knowledge and experiences.
Organizations are utilizing virtual collaborations to support knowledge
sharing with existing and potential customers, stakeholders, partners,
and employees. However, concerns, such as privacy-related issues and
performance issues of virtual collaborations, also arise with virtual
environments.
Hence, this minitrack seeks to explore the opportunities as well as the
issues associated with virtual collaborations for knowledge sharing and
learning. We encourage paper submissions that study the development,
use, and assessment of virtual collaborations for knowledge sharing in
learning and training contexts from a variety of perspectives (e.g.,
individual, organizational, and international). We welcome papers that
study the application of virtual collaborations for knowledge sharing
and learning as well as challenge such applications. This minitrack is
open to both theoretical and empirical studies, and is open to all
research methods (e.g., survey, field study, case study, experimentation).
Potential topics may include (but are not limited to):
* Development of frameworks for evaluating virtual collaborations for
knowledge sharing in learning and training contexts
* Theoretical models describing the development, use, and assessment of
virtual collaborations for knowledge sharing and learning
* Research on novel, innovative uses of virtual technologies and data
analytics for virtual collaborations for knowledge sharing and learning
* Examinations of implementations, adoptions, and outcomes of virtual
collaborations for knowledge sharing and learning along with factors
influencing these activities
* Meta-analyses and meta-syntheses of research and the implications for
virtual collaborations for knowledge sharing and learning
* Issues, limitations, and barriers surrounding virtual collaborations
for knowledge sharing and learning
Submission Process:
Paper submissions must be made electronically through AMCIS 2020
Manuscript Submission Site https://new.precisionconference.com/ais.
Papers will be peer reviewed using a double-blind system.

*** CALL FOR Papers ***
Journal: MDPI Smart Cities
Topic: Blockchain/DLT: Opportunities, Challenges and Solutions for Smart
Cities
Dear Colleagues,
Blockchain and other trustless systems have turned into mainstream
phenomena that are seen as powerful game-changers for many industries.
The characteristics of blockchain and DLTs (distributed ledger
technologies), such as immutability, security, and programmability,
offer numerous opportunities for creating solutions that enable and
foster the development of smart cities. Examples include, but are not
limited to, the application of smart contracts to facilitate
transactions, the creation of novel services and applications, the
deployment of innovative security and privacy solutions, as well as the
reorganization of the public sector (e.g., governmental spending
transparency).
For this Special Issue, we invite papers that describe and explore the
application of blockchain and related technologies in smart cities.
Furthermore, we are interested in empirical research that explains the
implications of blockchain in this context. We will publish papers that
clearly outline how those technologies have been applied; what the
rationale for their application was and, finally, what the outcome was.

Subject: [AISWorld] MWAIS webinar on Building Trust in Wearables for
Health Behavior (February 21)
Date: Fri, 31 Jan 2020 15:39:18 -0600
From: Ryan Schuetzler <ryan(a)schuetzler.net>
To: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org
Dear AIS members,
We're continuing the Midwest AIS webinar series on Friday, February 21 at
noon Central time. Madhav Sharma and Dr. David Biros from Oklahoma State
University will be presenting their recent paper from the MWAIS conference
entitled "Building Trust in Wearables for Health Behavior." To sign up,
visit https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/1730697677332653069. More
information on the webinar is in the abstract below. We look forward to
seeing you there!
Abstract: Advances in Internet of Things (IoT) have given users the ability
to monitor heart rate, calories burned, steps walked, time spent
exercising, and electrical activity of the heartbeat. Although major
players in the wearable industry have marketed their wearables using the
health and activity tracking features, a noteworthy health behavior change
has not been observed at individual or societal level. A prominent barrier
to adoption of healthcare features in these devices is lack of user trust.
This research conceptualizes the formation of user’s initial trust in
wearables. Here, wearable systems are proposed as three-dimensional
framework constituting the device, the organization (manufacturer or
app-maker), and the Internet. Understanding the formation of initial trust
on wearable systems’ healthcare features can lead to improvement in user’s
health-related behaviors, which in turn has the potential to cause a
societal change in primary healthcare delivery.
