Best papers of the workshop, after further revisions and independent reviews, will be considered for publication in a special issue of Wiley Journal of Software: Evolution and Process (IF 1.305). *** SCOPE *** The design of modern Cyber-Physical Systems (CPSs) comprises systems of systems that include several heterogeneous components. Manufacturers of such systems have to address several networking, dynamic and uncertain environmental constraints. CPSs are often safety-critical, i.e., any malfunctioning of the system may seriously harm its user. However, the involved communicating peripherals also necessitate the consideration of security issues, so that the proper functioning of a CPS is not affected by cyber-security threats. The engineering of a CPS requires high safety integrity levels and strong assurances for their fitness for public use against safety hazards and cyber-security threats. Considering safety and security requirements in the design of CPS increases their reliability, confidentiality, integrity and availability. This also ensures the continuous provision and protection of essential services and assets. However, contemporary systems and software engineering methods and approaches are often not adequate for the high-confidence design and manufacturing of CPSs. This is especially true within the era of artificial intelligence. The overall aim of this workshop is to address a broad range of issues related to cyber-security, functional safety and their interplay within the context of CPSs – including but not limited to: - Functional safety, cyber-security and their interplay - Model-driven engineering - Privacy and confidentiality - Specification, verification & validation - System architecture, design, decisions and tradeoffs, e.g., correct-by-design or privacy-by-design - Security, safety and CPS in the era of artificial intelligence, machine learning and deep learning - Regulation, homologation, legalization and certification - Case studies, experience reports, benchmarking and best practices - Healthcare, transportation, aerospace, energy, robotics, finance, business, etc. *** SUBMISSION GUIDELINES *** In order to encourage participation and discussion, this workshop solicits two types of submissions - regular papers and short papers: - Regular paper submissions about original work not exceeding 15 pages. - Short paper submissions on recent or ongoing work on relevant topics and ideas not exceeding 6 pages. Selected high-quality papers will be invited to be published, after revision and extension, in special issues of international journals. *** SCOPE *** In the recent years, there has been a rapid development of biological technologies producing more and more biological data, i.e., data related to biological macromolecules (DNA, RNA and proteins). The rise of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, also known as high-throughput sequencing technologies, has contributed actively to the deluge of these data. In general, these data are big, heterogeneous, complex, and distributed in all over the world in databases. Analyzing biological big data is a challenging task, not only, because of its complexity and its multiple and numerous correlated factors, but also, because of the continuous evolution of our understanding of the biological mechanisms. Classical approaches of biological data analysis are no longer efficient and produce only a very limited amount of information, compared to the numerous and complex biological mechanisms under study. From here comes the necessity to adopt new computer tools and develop new in silico high performance approaches to support us in the analysis of biological big data and, hence, to help us in our understanding of the correlations that exist between, on one hand, structures and functional patterns in biological macromolecules and, on the other hand, genetic and biochemical mechanisms. While the negative impacts and outcomes of social media have attracted increasing scholarly attention in recent years, the problems and risks in social media use remain profound and therefore call for continued research. This mini-track invites papers that identify and address the dark side of social media, assembling a wide array of studies that examine the aspects of social media that negatively impact people’s personal lives or disrupt the operation of organizations and societies.
