Subject: [AISWorld] HICSS 52 CFP Data Science and Digital
Collaborations Minitrack
Date: Sun, 8 Apr 2018 19:25:42 -0400
From: Lakshmi Iyer <iyerls(a)appstate.edu>

Call For Papers: HICSS 52 (2019)-Mini-track on *Data Science and Digital
Collaborations*
For *Collaboration Systems and Technologies Track*
*Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences*
HICSS-52: Jan 8th to 11th 2019 | Maui, Hawaii
*Call for Papers*
Data science and analytics for collaboration is the study of generalizable
extraction of knowledge from structured and/or unstructured data to support
human collaboration within and across groups and organizations. The new
actionable knowledge gained is expected to support achieving collaborative
goals such as innovation, idea generation, decision making, negotiation,
and execution. Data science and analytics for collaboration couples a
systematic study of collection, aggregation, organization, processing, and
analysis of data. In addition, it requires deep understanding of
formulating problems valuable for collaboration, engineering effective
solutions to the collaboration problems, and ways to effectively
communicate findings across roles ranging from business managers to data
analysts. There is a continued interest in organizations looking for ways
to increase value from data science and using it to address business
challenges. One promising way for businesses and organizations to enhance
their performance or competitiveness is by investigating how data science
and analytics can facilitate collaboration both internally and
externally. For
example, businesses are trying to understand how data science and analytics
can help engage customers and improve operation efficiency and how it can
use social media to support corporate knowledge management. Another
example is collaborative creation of ideas and solutions through
crowdsourcing and online communities (such as dominodatalab.com). Access to
heterogeneous, voluminous, and unverified data presents both new
opportunities and challenges for addressing collaboration problems. Yet
another example is the collection of data by the public around the world
which is then used by scientists working on Genographic data by National
Geographics.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
· Challenges and opportunities of data science for collaboration
· Analysis of big data for collaboration
· Collaboration across organizations for social impact through
analytics
· Collection, aggregation, and organization of collaborative big data
· Managing heterogeneous big data from collaborative sources
· Visualization of collaborative big data
· Data science for collaborative work (decision making, problem
solving, negotiation, and creativity/innovation)
· Data science and analytics for inter-organizational collaboration
· Crowdsourcing analytics for collaborative tasks
· Security and privacy issues in collaborative data science
· Data science in collaborative creation or innovation
· Human factors in applying data science for collaboration
· Team building in data science for collaboration
· Case studies on data science for collaboration: Adaptive
collaboration systems that feature modeling, collaboration, and advanced
analytics to detect patterns, make sense of, simulate, predict, learn, take
action, and improve performance with use and scale.
· Knowledge discovery from collaborative data in social media
· Analysis of collaborative social networks

CALL FOR PAPERS
Special Issue on Big Data Driven Risk and Contingency Management (BRCM
2018) in International Journal of Risk and Contingency Management
The International Journal of Risk and Contingency Management (ISSN:
2160-9624 e-ISSN: 2160-9632) (
http://www.igi-global.com/journal/international-journal-risk-contingency-ma…)
is covered in risk and contingency management, and is abstracted and
indexed in ACM Digital, INSPEC, Bacon's Media Directory, Cabell's
Directories, Google Scholar, Index Copernicus, (SCOPUS is in progress).
Risk is the effect of uncertainty on goals. Where there is uncertainty,
there is risk. Where there is risk, there should have contingency
management. Therefore, uncertainty, risk and contingency are ubiquitous,
and are always a topic for our research and development. However, the
dramatic development of the Internet leads to global uncertainty in
economy, military, industry, etc. Big data intensifies global uncertainty
and risk in many areas including management decision making, healthcare,
finance, banking, privacy and security.
Big data has become a strategic asset for industry, business, and national
security. Big Data is also a key enabler of exploring business insights and
economics of services. Big Data is characterized with at least six bigs:
big volume, big velocity, big variety, big value, big veracity, and big
market. Big data has brought about big challenge for risk and contingency
management. For example, what big data driven approach can improve risk and
contingency management in the age of big data? How can we manage big data
driven risk and contingency in industry, finance, business and other
sectors.
1 Objective and topics
The objective of this Special Issue in International Journal of Risk and
Contingency Management is to present the current state of research and
practical experiences on big data driven risk and contingency management.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Fundamentals of Risk and Contingency Management

*SUSTAINABLE MOBILITY*
Sustainable mobility is one of the emerging topics of our time. On the
one hand mobility in the sense of moving persons and goods is one of the
central functions for a successful economy and a worth living society.
On the other hand, mobility contributes the highest CO2 emissions
besides the energy production and is connected to many other negative
effects in the ecological, economical and social dimension of
sustainability.
However many activities in industry and research as well address this
topic, e.g. in the field of electric mobility or in the context of smart
cities and regions.
**
*TOPICS*
ICT solutions are able to make mobility more effective and to reduce
negative effects of mobility. This workshop addresses these ICT
solutions for a more sustainable mobility in a wide-spreaded area of
topics, e.g.:
-Sustainable transport and green logistics
-Smart city
-Open and Big Data
-Urban mobility / Last-Mile logistics
-Mobility in rural regions
-Sustainable mobility providers
-New Business Models for mobility providers
-Smart travel planning and assistance
-Electric mobility
-Autonomous Vehicles
