*CALL FOR PAPERS - AMCIS 2017, Boston, August 10-12, 2017*
http://amcis2017.aisnet.org/
*Mini-Track: Socio-Technical Challenges in Smart City Development *
*part of " Social Technical and Social Inclusion Issues (SIGSI)"
We warmly invite your submissions to the mini-track on "Socio-Technical Challenges in Smart City Development".
*Mini-track Description*
It is increasingly recognized by governors, information systems researchers and industrial practitioners that, although the smart city concept is driven by advanced information technologies, its success can be highly influenced by a wide range of socio-technical factors and challenges. However, an extensive review of the current literature suggested that the majority of smart city studies focused mainly on the technical and engineering aspects, such as smart city IT architecture, operational algorithms, engineering models, prototype designs, and smart testbeds. In contrast, there is a significant scarcity of studies to explore potential social, cultural, political, ethical, managerial, organizational, and human aspects related to the design, development, deployment and usage of smart technologies, systems and services in different societal and city contexts. This minitrack thus aims to serve as a forum to bridge this knowledge gap, as well as to offer a socio-technical angle and a
n information systems perspective to complement the very technical view in the current smart city research agenda.
*Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:*
- Public trust, user acceptance, user behaviors, citizen needs, and citizen engagement in smart city services;
- Impacts of smart technologies and systems on people, organisations, and the whole ecosystem of cities;
- Behaviour changes led by the daily usage of smart city services and facilities;
- Technochange management in smart cities;
- Emerging economic, business and service models in smart cities
- Data integration, data governance and data management issues in smart cities
- Cultural, organizational, institutional, and any other socio-technical challenges affecting the development and deployment of smart solutions in the context of specific cities.
*Important Dates*
- January 09, 2017: Manuscript submissions for AMCIS papers begin
- March 01, 2017: Deadline for AMCIS paper submissions due 1 pm EST
- April 17, 2017: Notification of initial decision on submitted papers
- April 25, 2017: Deadline for camera-ready revisions
- April 28, 2017: Notification of decision on revised camera-ready papers

Von: Brenda L. Eschenbrenner <eschenbrenbl(a)unk.edu>
An: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
Call for Papers
23rd Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS'17)
August 10-12, 2017
Boston
Track: Virtual Communities and Collaboration
Minitrack: Virtual Communities and Social Media in Health Care
Description:
Virtual environments provide new platforms for individuals to acquire and share information regarding health concerns. Virtual communities can provide an additional means for patients to provide support to one another facing similar health issues. Healthcare providers are utilizing virtual environments to connect with patients and consult with other providers, while healthcare organizations are creating new ways to manage and improve healthcare operations. Virtual environments present new channels to educate the public on various topics such as healthcare crises or managing chronic diseases. It also provides opportunities to garner information from individuals to identify emerging issues, such as flu epidemics. However, concerns also arise with leveraging virtual environments for healthcare-related purposes, such as patient privacy and information accuracy.
Hence, this minitrack seeks to explore the opportunities as well as the issues associated with virtual communities and social media in health care. We encourage paper submissions that study the development, use, and assessment of virtual communities and social media in healthcare, which can be from a variety of perspectives (e.g., patient, healthcare provider, and healthcare organization). We welcome papers that study the application of virtual communities and social media in this context as well as challenge such applications. This minitrack is open to both theoretical and empirical studies, and is open to all research methods (e.g., survey, field study, case study, experimentation).
Potential topics may include (but are not limited to):
* Development of frameworks for evaluating virtual communities and social media in health care
* Theoretical models describing the development, use, and assessment of virtual communities and social media in health care
* Research on novel, innovative uses of virtual technologies and data analytics for health care communities and social media

Betreff: [AISWorld] CFP - BPM@Cloud: 1st International Workshop on
Business Process Management in the Cloud
Datum: Wed, 1 Feb 2017 20:45:20 +0200
Von: Kyriakos Kritikos <kritikos(a)ics.forth.gr>
An: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org
Call for Papers
1st International Workshop on Business Process Management in the Cloud -
BPM@Cloud 2017
in conjunction with the 7th International Conference on Cloud Computing and
Services Science - CLOSER 2017
OFFICIAL WORKSHOP URL: http://closer.scitevents.org/BPM@Cloud.aspx
DESCRIPTION:
To reduce costs as well as allow a more flexible provisioning of their
business processes (BPs) and services, organisations are continuously
thinking to move to the cloud. However, most of them do not have the
appropriate expertise towards performing this move. As such, there is a
need of platforms which are able to realise respective methods, techniques
and algorithms that provide the appropriate cloud-based support level to
these organisations. This support level should enable organisations to
check which parts of their business processes should be moved to the cloud
as well as cater for bridging the gap between the business and IT level.
Moreover, it should assist in the allocation, publishing, execution,
monitoring, evaluation and adaptive provisioning of these business
processes, thus catering for their appropriate management based on the four
main lifecycle activities of BP design, allocation, execution and
evaluation. By moving and offering business processes in the cloud, the
notion of Business Process as a Service (BPaaS) is realized which is
projected to become quite profitable for the organisations participating in
its value chain which can play the role of Brokers, BPaaS management
platform operators, or software developers. Thus, BPaaS not only caters for
migrating existing BPs in the cloud but can also become a novel
exploitation product in the cloud stack that will further boost the
adoption of cloud computing.
The workshop invites research papers that deal with any subject that is
relevant for the realization of the BPaaS vision according to either
business, technical or both perspectives. Research and development work on
facilitating any kind of management for BPs in the cloud is more than
welcome as well as innovative work that attempts to deal with the
well-known business-to-IT alignment problem. Research that advances the
state-of-the-art in cloud computing in areas related to BP management
(e.g., cloud orchestration) are considered quite relevant. Novel cloud
platforms supporting the advertisement and management of business process
or workflows are also relevant. Finally, papers focusing on conveying
practical knowledge or important issues related to moving or managing BPs
in the cloud are also welcome.
