Selected high-quality papers will be invited to be published, after revision and extension, in special issues of international journals and in a book in the Book Series: Atlantis Ambient and Pervasive Intelligence published by Springer.
**** Scope *****
A vast variety of multimedia services like voice, email, instant messaging, social networks, mobile payment and transactions, mobile video conferencing, or video and audio streaming has already shaped the expectations towards current mobile devices, infrastructure, and services. Within the last five years, mobile multimedia has become the accepted standard, driven by developments in end-user devices, radio networks, and backend services. However, many open research questions remain, from limited battery life to heterogeneous data types, increases in quality of service, context-aware adaptation to the environment, or the ever-present security and privacy issues.
MoMM2013 is the 11th in the series of the highly successful International Conference on Advances in Mobile Computing and Multimedia. Recently, MoMM has been held in Bali (2012), Ho Chi Minh City (2011), Paris (2010), Kuala Lumpur (2009), and Linz (2008). This year, Vienna will host MoMM2013. The MoMM conference series has provided opportunities to researchers, graduate students, and industry practitioners to address recent research results and current industry practices in the area of mobile computing and multimedia.
We invite two types of submissions: Full Technical Papers and Short Position Papers. A Full Paper should provide solid conceptual and theoretical foundation and substantial support for its results and conclusions as a significant contribution to the field. A Position Paper is not expected to be theoretically or empirically thorough, but represents an earlier stage of work. Examples are demonstration or prototype work, preliminary user studies, or work in progress, i.e. a report on the latest emerging ideas, approaches, methodologies, systems and application scenarios. Accepted papers from both categories will be published in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series.

* Background
The field of information systems analysis and design includes numerous information modelling methods and notations (e.g. ER, ORM, UML, ArchiMate, EPC, BPMN, DEMO) that are typically evolving. The EMMSAD conference focuses on exploring, evaluat-ing, and enhancing modelling methods and methodologies for the analysis and design of information systems, enterprises, and business processes. Though the need for such studies is well rec-ognized, there is a paucity of such research in the literature. The objective of the EMMSAD conference series is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in modelling methods for systems analysis and design to meet, and exchange research ideas and results. It also provides the participants an opportunity to present their research papers and experience reports, and to take part in open discussions.
EMMSAD’2013 is the eighteenth in a very successful series of EMMSAD events. Since 2009, the EMMSAD proceedings have been published in Springer's LNBIP series.
* Topics of Interest
Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) theoretical and/or empirical or case-based exploration of modelling methods and methodologies in a systems analysis and design context. The topics of interest include general modelling issues such as:

The workshop accepts two types of submissions: Completed Research and Research-in-Progress.
Completed Research papers should not only discuss research findings, but also the initial re-search objectives, the research methodology used, as well as its appropriateness and its execution.
Research-in-progress papers report on research that is well underway with preliminary results available at the time of the conference.
These papers should clearly identify the research objectives of the ongoing research effort, the research method used, and the progress made so-far.
Submissions should not exceed 15 pages (including references and appendices). The paper may refer to a theoretical analysis of a scientific challenge, as well as the presentation of a solution to an identified scientific challenge. Reviewers will also be asked to evaluate the effective use of space. A 10 page paper might score better than a 15 page paper.
Only electronic submissions in Adobe PDF format are accepted. For more details refer to http://www.emmsad.org
Accepted papers will be published in the proceedings, which will be available at the conference, and should use the Springer LNBIP style.
Top papers in the completed research category may also be con-sidered (after extension and enhancement) either for chapters in a book, or for journal publications in the International Journal of Information System Modelling and Design.

Datum: Sun, 24 Feb 2013 06:26:49 +0000
Von: Mary Tate <Mary.Tate(a)vuw.ac.nz>
An: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
You are invited to participate in this workshop. The workshop is of
broad interest to the IS community, including researchers, research
students, research supervisors and teachers of research methods. A
variety of levels of participation are available, including short paper
presentation and participation in group discussions.
http://lris-pre-ecis-2013.sim.vuw.ac.nz/
*Pre-ECIS Workshop:* 5 June 2013, 1:00 ? 5:30
*Fee:* 70 euros
*Deadline for submission of 2-page abstracts:* 3rd March 2013
*Notification of acceptance:* 31st March 2013 to allow participants to
benefit from the early bird registrations for the conference
*General registration (participants who are not aiming to present at the
workshop):* Follows dates for main ECIS conference
It has been suggested that research literature is not ?building up? into
a cumulative tradition, but ?piling up? into an unsorted and unsort-able
heap (Dervin 2003). Typically, researchers espouse a neutral viewpoint
and adapt the goal of ?synthesising? previous literature. However, since
research literature in many areas of IS is diverse and heterogeneous,
this synthesis is not value neutral, but is a construction of the
researchers.
Recently, there have been a number of exciting papers published in
leading information systems journals and conferences such as the
European Journal of Information Systems, Behaviour and Information
Technology, and the European Conference on Information Systems that
offer alternatives to the ?narrative? literature review.
This workshop draws together the authors of several of these papers to
discuss alternative approaches to reviewing information systems
literature. It will also provide participants with an opportunity to
present their own critical analysis of a specific body of research
literature, or their suggestions about literature analysis approaches in
research methods training.
**
*Participation:*
·Participants who would like to present their work at the workshop are
invited to submit 2-page abstracts for peer review. The workshop has a
developmental focus. For this reason, we will endeavour to accept as
many abstracts as possible, although some proposals may not be allocated
individual presentation slots, and may not be selected for publication
in the workshop proceedings. All participants will have the opportunity
to contribute to a critical discussion.
·Participants may register to attend this workshop without submitting an
abstract. In the event that the maximum number of registrations is
exceeded, preference will be given to those participants who have an
accepted abstract.
*Abstract submission:*
Abstracts should use the ECIS conference template and format guidelines
and should be no more than two A-4 pages long.
Abstracts should focus on the analysis and presentation of research
literature and may cover, but are not limited to:
·Theoretical perspectives on research literature.
·Critical analysis of a specific body of research literature, with a
focus on issues, disconnects, gaps and heterogeneity as opposed to
seeking the ?mythical centre?.
·Innovative curricula and teaching methods for reviewing research
literature.
·Contrarian perspectives on research literature.
·Innovative and rigorous techniques (beyond the ?narrative? literature
review) for building a cumulative research tradition from research
literature.
*Submission and Review Process:*
Abstracts can be emailed to the workshop organizer mary.tate(a)vuw.ac.nz
<mailto:mary.tate@vuw.ac.nz>. Submitted Abstracts will be peer reviewed.
Depending on the reviewer?s comments, abstracts may be selected for
presentation at the workshop and/or publication in the workshop proceedings

Call for papers for the
*1^st International Workshop on Knowledge Management in Software
Engineering *-KMISE**
to be held in conjunction with the KESE?13
Knowledge management (KM) has been recognized as an essential component
of knowledge-intensive processes, such as software engineering. Current
software development processes suffer all too often from inappropriate
project costs and duration estimations, cancelation and failures. The
developed software product is frequently found fragile and unreliable;
not fully complying with the requirements; difficult to upgrade and
more. KM can facilitate software engineering by different ways, e.g.,
increasing the reuse of development experience, processes and products
and creating a communication layer between developers and end-users.
Current KM systems enable to organize the accumulated experience for
better storage and retrieval and open internal communication channels
within the development teams and external communication channels between
the organization and the end-users, throughout the development and
integration processes.
The Knowledge Management in Software Engineering workshop will focus on
research that examines real settings where KM is embedded in SE,
evaluating its role and influence on the software development process
and its outcomes. The workshop aims at discussing the current state of
ongoing research, industry needs, future trends, and sharing practical
experiences, involving both academics and practitioners. KMISE is an
interactive workshop that aims to connect participants and establish
long-term collaborations between them.
Submitted papers will be evaluated on the basis of significance,
originality and technical quality. Submissions must be in PDF or DOC
format. Papers should clearly establish the research contribution and
the relation to previous research. Members of an international and solid
program committee will review all submissions.
We invite to submit long research papers (up to 6 pages) short position
papers (up to 3 pages) or posters. Manuscript must include a 200-word
abstract and 2-column formatted Manuscript for Conference Proceedings

ICCL Summer School 2013
As in the past summer schools at the Technische Universität Dresden,
people from distinct, but communicating communities will gather in an
informal and friendly atmosphere. This two-week event is aimed at
graduate students, researchers and practitioners.
The topic of this year's summer school is
Semantic Web - Ontology Languages and Their Use
The summer school is devoted to the Semantic Web, a very dynamic and
current area of research and application which aims at making
information on the World Wide Web fit for intelligent systems
applications. One of the key ideas of the Semantic Web approach is to
make use of methods from knowledge representation and of AI research
in general in order to obtain seamless integration of information from
diverse resources, interoperability of tools, enhance search
functionalities, and the like.
Central for this development is the design of knowledge representation
languages for building so-called ontologies, which serve as a kind of
metadata to describe the semantics or meaning of data on the Web. Of
primary importance are ontology languages and related recommended
standards by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as well as methods
and algorithm for their processing.
The Semantic Web is now an advanced interdisciplinary field having its
home in Computer Science. Third party funding for more than a decade,
in particular from the European Union, has led to significant
progress. Systems like Apple's Siri or IBM's Watson, adaptions of
Semantic-Web-based technologies for e.g. schema.org, Facebook's Open
Graph or Google's Knowledge Graph bring these technologies to
widespread use and application. Through so-called Linked Data, high
volumes of Semantic-Web-processable data is already available on
the Web.
The ICCL Summer School 2013 will introduce to Semantic Web Ontology
Languages and some of their application areas, and highlight related
research problems.
Registration:
If you want to attend the summer school, we would like you to register
via the Online Registration Form preferably by April 11, 2013. This
deadline is obligatory for all who want to apply for a grant.
After April 11, 2013, registration will be possible as long as there
are vacant places. (Since we intend to restrict participation to about
60 people, in case of excessive demand, we will have to close the
registration to the summer school.)
Please register at the latest by July 1, 2013, because - apart from
the mentioned overall restriction of participation - we would need an
early estimate of the number of participants.
People applying until April 11, 2013, and applying for a grant will be
informed about respective decisions on grants by end of April 2013.
After April 11, 2013 applications for grants cannot be considered
any more.
An on-site check-in is on Sunday, August 18, 2013, at 4 - 7 pm in
room E001 of the Computer Science building. It continues on Monday,
August 19, 2013, 8 - 10 am.
Fees:
(A) We ask for a participation fee of 250 EUR for participants from
the university sector (students, university employees, etc)
(B) We ask for a participation fee of 1000 Euro for participants
from industry.
Please pay this summer school fee in cash at the day of your arrival.
If belonging to the university sector you have to provide some
respective evidence when paying the fees at the check-in (e.g.
student card, web page at a university, etc).
Grants:
A limited number of grants for students and university employees will
be available, which includes a waiver of the participation fee. Please
indicate in your application, if the only possibility for you to
participate is via a grant. Applications for grants must include an
estimate of travel costs. (Such info shall be mentioned in the
respective parts of the online registration form).
Please consult our web pages for further details.

After years of rapid technological advances, it is time to
reflect on how information and communication technologies
(ICTs), information systems and applications have altered
fundamentally the way individuals and organizations
communicate, interact and organize. Now the time has come to
explore the impact of these developments on individuals,
organizations and society. Moreover, this provides the
opportunity to develop a critical eye to examine our
responsibilities as individuals, citizens, consumers and
organizations when facing, challenging and shaping these
impacts.
This conference uniquely addresses current developments,
opportunities and challenges reflected in demographic,
organizational and technological changes, the well-being and
health of individuals, age groups and organizations; the
demands of big data and the formation and management of
online communities. Furthermore, the conference encourages

Subject: [WI] 2nd Call for Workshop Proposals ICLP 2013:
29th International Conference on Logic Programming,
Istanbul, Turkey, August 24-29
Date: Fri, 22 Feb 2013 08:17:39 +0100 (CET)

(Apologies for cross-posting.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
SECOND CALL FOR WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
29th International Conference on Logic Programming (ICLP 2013)
Istanbul, Turkey, August 24-29, 2013
http://www.iclp2013.org
---------------------------------------------------------------------
ICLP 2013, the 29th International Conference on Logic Programming,
will be held in Istanbul, Turkey, August 24-29, 2013.
Workshops collocated with an international conference are one of the
best venues for the presentation and discussion of preliminary work,
novel ideas, and new open problems to a wide and interested audience.
Collocated workshops also provide an opportunity for presenting
specialised topics and opportunities for intensive discussions and
project collaboration. The topics of the workshops collocated with
ICLP 2013 may cover any area related to logic programming (e.g.,
theory, systems, environments, software-engineering aspects, extensions,
alternative paradigms, applications), including cross-disciplinary areas.
However, any workshop proposal will be taken under consideration.
The format of the workshop will be decided by the workshop organisers,
but ample time should be allowed for general discussions. Workshops can
vary in length, but the optimal format are half-day workshops and full-day
workshops.
Workshop Proposal:
==================
People interested in organising a workshop at ICLP 2013 are invited
to submit a workshop proposal. Proposals should be written in English
and about two pages in length. They should contain:
* the title of the workshop;
* a brief technical description of the topics covered by the
workshop;
* a discussion of the timeline and relevance of the workshop;
* a list of some related workshops held in recent years;
* the (preliminary) required number of half-days allotted to the
workshop and an estimate of the number of expected attendees;
* the names, affiliations, and contact details (email, web page,
phone, fax) of the workshop organiser(s) together with a
designated contact person; and
* the previous experience of the workshop organising committee in
workshop or conference organisation.
Proposals should be in PDF format and submitted to the Workshop Chair (Hans Tompits) by email by
March 11, 2013.
Reviewing Process:
==================
Each submitted proposal will be reviewed by the Workshop Chair and the
Conference Program Chairs. Proposals that appear well-organised and
that fit the goals and the scope of ICLP will be selected. The Chairs
will notify the responsible organisers of their decision via email by
March 18, 2013.
The final length of each workshop will be planned according to the
number of submissions each workshop receives. For each accepted
workshop, the ICLP local organisers will prepare a meeting place and
arrange the distribution of the workshop proceedings, which must be
prepared by the workshop organisers. The workshop registration fees
will be handled together with the conference fees.
Workshop Organisers' Tasks:
===========================
* Producing a "Call for Papers" for the workshop and posting it on
the Internet and other means. A Web page URL which will be linked
into the ICLP 2013 home page must be provided by April 8, 2013.
* Providing a brief description of the workshop for the conference
program.
* Reviewing and deciding upon submitted papers.
* Scheduling workshop activities in collaboration with the local
organisers and the Workshop Chair.
* Sending the workshop program and the workshop proceedings in pdf format
to the Workshop Chair for distribution at the conference.
* The use of the Computing Research Repository (CoRR) for the
workshop proceedings is strongly recommended.
Location:
=========
All workshops will take place in the city of Istanbul at the site of the
main conference. See the ICLP 2013 Web site for location details.
Important Dates:
================
March 11, 2013: Proposal submission deadline
March 18, 2013: Notification (NEW!)
April 8, 2013: Deadline for receipt of CFP and workshop Web page URL (NEW!)
July 22, 2013: Deadline for proceedings and workshop program (NEW!)
