================================
- Leitlinienmanagement
- Workflow-Management-Systeme im Gesundheitswesen
- Ad-hoc Workflows und Clinical Pathway-Aware Information Systems

8th TEE Workshop: Transformation & Engineering of Enterprises
In conjunction with IEEE CBI?14 - Geneva, July 2014
Call for Papers - Transformation & Engineering of Enterprises (TEE)
Important dates
2 March 2014 - Paper submission
27 April 2014 - Notification of acceptance
15 May 2014 - Camera-ready copy
14 July 2014 - Workshop
Aims and objectives
New technologies, new markets, globalisation, mergers and acquisitions
are among the ?usual suspects?, which require enterprises to transform
and engineer themselves to deal with these challenges and new realities.
The Transformation & Engineering of Enterprises involves the use of
methods and techniques from business process management, business
engineering, organizational change management, enterprise architecture,
enterprise modelling, and information systems engineering. As a field of
study, the Transformation & Engineering of Enterprises requires
validation in real-life situations. Conversely, it is in industrial
practice where challenges can be found that may fuel and inspire
researchers. In addition, as a domain of study, the Transformation &
Engineering of Enterprises can be approached from different research
perspectives, including management science, organizational sciences,
social sciences, as well as the engineering sciences and business
informatics. The TEE workshops are set up in such a way that it attracts
an audience from both industry and academia with their respective
perspectives.
Event description
The TEE series of workshops is an evolution, and merger, of the
successful PRET series and the AppEER workshop. The scope of the TEE
series includes both the original scopes of PRET and AppEER. TEE is a
highly interactive event and will be co-located with the 16th IEEE
Conference on Business Informatics (CBI 2014) in Geneva, Switzerland on
July 14-17, 2014.
Paper types
Papers should describe innovative and significant original research
relevant to TEE topics as listed. Research papers should reflect the
mission of TEE, which is bringing together academia and the industry
regarding the indicated topics. Research papers and case studies should
stimulate the discussion and the synergy between these two ?worlds?,
with the ultimate objective of improving the field of Transformation &
Engineering of Enterprises. Typical research papers describe: challenges
from industry for the academic world, practical applications of theory
and/or research results regarding the Transformation & Engineering of
Enterprises. Paper submission from industry as well as from young
researchers (MSc or PhD researchers) is strongly encouraged. Research
results can be described in an elaborated way, since the typical paper
TEE is aiming for is between 15-20 pages long (including all references
and figures). Note, however, that a clear focus of papers, and effective
use the length of a paper to convey the contribution of a paper, will be
among the evaluation criteria for selecting papers. Longer does not
necessarily mean better!
Submission guidelines
All papers must be prepared in accordance with the IEEE camera-ready and
should be submitted in PDF format via: http://goo.gl/c5onKy. Work
submitted for consideration must not have been published elsewhere and
must not be under review or submitted for review elsewhere during the
duration of consideration. At least one author of accepted papers is
expected to present the results at the TEE workshop. All accepted papers
will appear in the workshop proceedings, published by IEEE (tbc).

3^rd WORKSHOP ON SMART DATA PRICING (SDP 2014)
May 2, 2014 ? Toronto, Canada
Workshop of IEEE INFOCOM 2014
Website: http://www.ieee-infocom.org/Workshops_SDP.html
Call for Papers
Demand for data in both wired and wireless broadband networks is growing
every year, inducing Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to use pricing
both as a congestion management tool and a revenue generation model.
This changing landscape is evidenced by the elimination of flat-rate
plans in favor of $10/GB usage based fees in the US and various other
countries in Asia and Europe. Consequently, Smart Data Pricing (SDP) has
been playing a major role in the future of mobile, broadband, and
content. SDP can refer to (a) time/location/app/congestion dependent
dynamic pricing, (b) usage based pricing with throttling/booster, (c)
WiFi offloading/proactive caching, (d) two-sided pricing/reverse
billing/sponsored content, (e) quota-aware content distribution, (f)
shared data pricing, and any combination or extension of the above. SDP
can help create happier consumers and enterprise users, less congestion,
and better Quality of Experience, lower CapEx/OpEx, higher
revenue/profit margin, less churn, more consumption and ad revenue to
content/app providers. But it also requires developing pricing models
that capture the interplay between technical and economic factors,
interfaces among network providers and content/app providers, effective
user interface designs, field trials, and a combination of smart ideas,
smart execution, and smart policy.
The 1^st workshop on SDP was held on July 30-31, 2012, in Princeton,
USA, and the 2^nd workshop was held on April 19, 2013 at IEEE INFOCOM in
Turin, Italy. The SDP workshop has a history of nurturing
multidisciplinary research by bringing together academics and
practitioners from top Universities, research labs (like Microsoft
Research, INRIA), service providers (like AT&T, Korea Telecom,
Telefonica), hardware vendors (Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs, Microsoft,
Cisco), and representatives from US FCC and the National Exchange
Carrier Association. Likewise, the 3^rd workshop on SDP will provide an
interdisciplinary platform for researchers in engineering, economics,
and business schools, to exchange novel ideas to jointly address the
challenges and opportunities presented by the recent explosive growth in
demand for broadband data.
The 3rd Workshop on Smart Data Pricing (SDP), to be held on May 2, 2014,
as a part of IEEE INFOCOM in Toronto, Canada, solicits contributions
describing analyses of state-of-the-art pricing mechanisms, results of
ongoing research, open issues, trends, pricing-related signaling
protocols, net-neutrality related policy implications, standardization
activities, and new ideas in smart pricing and economic models that can
help alleviate network congestion.
Keynotes & Panel
This year?s Keynote speakers at SDP 2014 are Dr. Alok Gupta, Chair of
Information & Decision Sciences at the Carlson School of Management,
University of Minnesota, and Mr. Keith Cambron, former President & CEO
of AT&T Labs. We will also host an Industry-Academia Panel with position
papers from different industry sectors.
Topics
Topics of particular interest to SDP 2014 include, but are not limited to:
? Theories, models, and analyses of access pricing
? Use of incentives and economic mechanisms to alleviate
network congestion
? Economics of WiFi offloading, femtocells, heterogeneous networks
? Empirical studies of user behavior in response to price incentives
? Novel system implementation, deployment, or field trials of smart pricing
? Challenges in monetization of spectrum and emerging pricing trends
? Two-sided pricing, billing, and sponsored content
? Network neutrality and regulatory aspects of pricing policies
? Pricing of smart grids, cloud computing, etc.
? Hardware and software support for enabling smarter pricing practices
? Security and privacy issues in smart pricing
? Human-computer interaction aspects of pricing practices
? Activities on standardization of signaling protocols for smart pricing

CALL FOR PAPERS
--------------------------------------------------------------
5th International Workshop on Modeling Social Media (MSM'2014)
Mining Big Data in Social Media and the Web
http://www.kde.cs.uni-kassel.de/ws/msm2014/
to be held on April 8, 2014, Seoul, Korea
co-located with ACM WWW 2014
--------------------------------------------------------------
Important Dates:
** Submission Deadline: January 7, 2014 (23:59 Hawaii Standard Time)
** Notification of Acceptance: Feb 4, 2014
** Final Papers Due: Feb 12, 2014
** Workshop date: April 8, 2014
Workshop Organizers:
Alvin Chin, Nokia, Beijing, China; alvin.chin(a)nokia.com
Martin Atzmueller, University of Kassel, Kassel, Germany;
atzmueller(a)cs.uni-kassel.de
Christoph Trattner, Know-Center, Graz University of Technology, Graz,
Austria; trattner.christoph(a)gmail.com
In our first workshop on Modeling Social Media (MSM 2010 in Toronto,
Canada), we explored various
different models of social media ranging from user modeling, hypertext
models, software engineering
models, sociological models and framework models. In our second
workshop (MSM 2011 in Boston, USA),
we addressed the user interface aspects of modeling social media. In
our third workshop (MSM 2012
in Milwaukee, USA), we looked at the collective intelligence in social
media, i.e. making sense of
the content and context from social media websites such as Facebook,
Twitter, Google+ and Foursquare
by analyzing tweets, tags, blog posts, likes, posts and check-ins, in
order to create a new knowledge
and semantic meaning. Last year's workshop (MSM 2013 in Paris, France),
we discussed about mining,
modeling and recommending "things" in social media.
For this workshop, we aim to attract researchers from all over the world
working in the field of big
data mining and machine learning using web and social media data. Big
data is a hot topic in the
research community, and we would like to invite researchers in the data
and web mining community to
lend their expertise to help make understanding of the web and social
media that we have out there
(e.g. Facebook and Twitter, and browsing web logs). Thus, we invite
submissions which may include
the following topics, but are not limited to:
* novel big data mining and analytics methods or frameworks for social
media and the web
* novel approaches for personalization and recommendations
* novel methods for social structure and community discovery
* novel methods for tie strength or link prediction
* novel methods for predicting user behavior
* novel methods for user modeling and profiling
* novel methods for big data information visualization
* privacy and security issues in mining big data from web and social media
* applications of any of the above methods and technologies
The goal of this workshop is to apply big data mining approaches and
algorithms on social media.
Big data is everywhere and social media is now becoming one of the
proponents of generating big data,
especially since the data is in real time. Every company internally and
externally has big data, but
the issue is how to mine and make use of this big data to help companies
make informed decisions.
This workshop helps to address methods, algorithms, and frameworks to
solve this problem from expert
researchers. Hence, the workshop aims to attract and discuss various
novel aspects of personalization,
recommendation, community discovery, profiling and prediction from
social media. In short the workshop
invites topics that deal with user and social behavior that is inferred
from mining the social media
through big data analytics. Thus, our goal is to bring together
researchers and practitioners from
around the world in the big data mining, machine learning and
recommendation communities interested in
1) exploring different perspectives and approaches to mine (complex) and
analyze social media data,
2) inferring user and social behavior through big data analytics,
personalization and recommendation and
3) building models and frameworks for evaluating the designed approaches.
Submissions: We solicit short position papers (1-2 pages) and
peer-reviewed research papers (4-8 pages)
in the ACM conference paper style. Papers should be submitted in
EasyChair to
