Dear Gustaf Neumann,
Let me kindly inform you that the 10th International Conference on Web Information Systems and Technologies (WEBIST 2014 - http://www.webist.org/), to be held in Barcelona, Spain (April 3 - 5, 2014) is now welcoming the submission of position papers whose deadline is scheduled for next January 3.
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed research work and/or validated results. It is, nevertheless, important to support your argument with evidence to ensure the validity of your claims. A position paper may be a short report and discussion of ideas, facts, situations, methods, procedures or results of scientific research (bibliographic, experimental, theoretical, or other) focused on one of the conference topics.
Please check further details about position papers submission at the conference website (http://www.webist.org/GuidelinesTemplates.aspx).
The conference will be sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) and technically sponsored by the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS). INSTICC is Member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) and Object Management Group (OMG). The Science and Technology Events (SCITEVENTS) will be the Logistics Partner.
WEBIST is interested in promoting high quality research as it can be confirmed by last year acceptance rates, where from 143 submissions, 19% were accepted as full papers. Additionally, 21% were presented as short papers and 20% as posters.
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CD-ROM support.
A short list of presented papers will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers may be published by Springer in the LNBIP series.
The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP, EI (Elsevier Index) and Scopus.
All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SCITEPRESS is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/).
We also would like to highlight the possibility to submit to the following Satellite Workshops and Special Session:
Workshops:
- 1st International Workshop on the Latest Advances in Information Systems for the Enterprise 2.0 - ISE2.0 2014 (http://www.webist.org/ISE.aspx)

DESCRIPTION
Modern companies require customer-oriented, profitable, transparent, and IT-based business
processes to conduct their daily operations in an effective, efficient and compliant manner. Business
Process Management (BPM) has evolved into a widely deployed and comprehensively studied
discipline dedicated to providing a comprehensive set of tools, techniques and methods. BPM
comprises activities like the identification, definition and modeling of business processes, their
implementation and execution, monitoring, mining and control as well as their continuous improvement.
Successful BPM needs an appropriate interplay of corporate capabilities such as
governance, methods, information technology, culture, people, and strategic alignment.
Technical questions related to modeling, simulating, and executing processes have been studied
extensively in the past, but comparatively little work has been published with regard to the adoption,
use, and organizational consequences of BPM. As the technologies underlying BPM have
matured significantly, and organizational uptake of BPM technology is increasingly widespread,
these questions now require increased attention.
The proposed track encourages increasing Information Systems research in the BPM domain.
We invite submissions dedicated to all issues along the process lifecycle and related capabilities.
We seek papers that present rigorously conducted and relevant research and that add to the cumulative
knowledge in the field of BPM. We also welcome a wide variety of research approaches
including quantitative and qualitative, empirical and conceptual approaches such as case studies,
action research, surveys, experiments, design science research, mathematical modeling, or
scenario planning.
TOPICS OF INTEREST
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
. BPM adoption and governance
. Domain-specific BPM and related solutions
. Business transformation management
. Business process innovation
. Business value of BPM
. Process-oriented Governance, Risk, and Compliance
. Business process decision making
. Business process industrialization
. Business process analytics
. BPM in the large
. Content-Aware BPM
. Culture in BPM and the role of people
. Green BPM and sustainability transformations
. Social BPM
. Skills and BPM education

SUBMISSION DUE DATE: August 15, 2014
SPECIAL ISSUE ON: *Unveiling the Impact of Social Media: Importance of
the Co-creation of Business Value during the Adoption and Use Process*
Journal of Organizational and End User Computing (JOEUC)
*Guest Editors: *
Dr. Samuel Fosso Wamba, NOEMA Business School, France
Dr. Shahriar Akter, University of Wollongong, Australia
Dr. Thomas F. Stafford, University of Memphis, USA

*Introduction:*
Social media is at the core of the so called "social commerce", which
represents a new form of "Internet-based social media that allows people
to participate in the marketing, selling, comparing, and buying of
products and services in online marketplaces and communities" (Stephen &
Toubia, 2010 <#_ENREF_3>, p. 215). Driven by the widespread diffusion
and adoption of social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter, as
well as mobile devices, social commerce is expected to generate
tremendous business value in terms of operational efficiency and
improved revenues in the incoming years. Some analysts estimated that
the social commerce market will grow from about US$5 billion in 2011, to
almost US$30 billion by 2016 (Zhou, Zhang, et al., 2011 <#_ENREF_4>). In
a McKinsey Global Institute report, the consulting firm foresaw that in
2012 only, "$900 billion to $1.3 trillion in annual value could be
unlocked in just four sectors by products and services that enable
social interactions in the digital realm". According to the same report,
"[t]here's no doubt organizations have begun to realize significant
value from largely external uses of social[media]. Yet internal
applications have barely begun to tap their full potential, even though
about two-thirds of social's estimated economic value stems from
improved collaboration and communication within enterprises. Although
more than 80 percent of executives say their companies deploy social
technologies, few have figured out how to use them in ways that could
have a large-scale, replicable, and measurable impact at an enterprise
level" (Chui, Dewhurst, et al., 2013 <#_ENREF_1>, p. 1). While value
co-creation from social media is emerging as an important field of
research (Fosso Wamba & Carter, 2013 <#_ENREF_2>), very few empirical
studies have be devoted to how to actually co-create and capture value
from social media.
*Objective:*
The main objective of this special issue is to contribute to filling
this knowledge gap. More precisely, this special issue aims to invite
scholars and practitioners to look at the ways and means to (a)
co-create and capture business value from social media and Web
2.0-related concepts both at the individual, firm and supply chain
levels, such value being assessable in terms of new business
opportunities, improved performance and competitive advantage; and (b)
unveil their implications for practices and management strategies.
**
*Recommended Topics:*
Topics to be discussed in this special issue include (but are not
limited to) the following:
·Are current IT adoption research theories (e.g., TAM) appropriate to
studying the adoption and use of social media at the individual,
organizational, and interorganizational levels?
·Case studies on the implementation of new social media concepts for
business value co-creation at the individual, organizational and
interorganizational levels
·Enabling innovative electronic business models using social media in
various sectors (e.g., administration, healthcare, retail industry,
manufacturing, emergency services like disaster management)
·Governance structures and practices facilitating the co-creation and
capture of business value from social media at the individual,
organizational, and inter-organizational levels
·Modeling and simulating the business value of social media on quality
management
·Modeling and simulating the costs and risks associated with the
deployment of social media projects at the individual, organizational,
and interorganizational levels
·Modeling and simulating the financial, managerial, leadership, and
human resources required for social media implementation projects
·New theories development to explain the adoption and use of social
media at the individual, organizational and interorganizational levels
·Social media and big data impact at the individual, organizational, and
interorganizational levels
·Social media-enabled business analytics at the individual,
organizational and interorganizational levels

Information Systems Engineering in Times of Crisis
Real-time information systems and overly complex financial products have
been blamed as causes of recent financial crises. The IS Engineering
community is treating such phenomena as challenges, to be addressed through
research and improved practices. In particular, our community has begun to
address the role of information systems in predicting, preventing, and
reacting to crises of many different kinds: data-centric financial and
fiscal dependency analysis of the globalized financial systems, resilience
of critical infrastructures by information management, reaction to natural
disasters such as fires, floods, earthquakes, etc. Due to the very nature of
crises as unexpected events with broad and vast impact, IS Engineering
challenges traditional wisdom and methodologies, as well as interactions
between research and practice including stakeholders such as crisis victims.
CAiSE '14 will, as always, act as a forum of discussion that brings together
researchers and practitioners in the field of IS Engineering. It will be the
place to share mature research, ground-breaking ideas, and experience
reports in our discipline.
CAiSE welcomes all submissions that fall in the domain of information
systems engineering. This year, the conference extends a special welcome to
