Final Call for Papers
Fourth International Conference on Software Business
June 11-14, 2013, Potsdam, Germany
Conference homepage: http://www.icsob.org
Online submission: http://senldogo0039.springer-sbm.com/ocs/home/ICSOB2013
Theme: From Physical Products to Software Services and Solutions
Advancements in the software industry have had a substantial impact not only on productivity and on GDP growth globally, but also on our daily work and live. Moreover there is a noticeable spillover within other industries (e.g. manufacturing) enabling new business models: companies bundle their physical products and software services into solutions (e.g. using subscription models) and start to sell independent software products in addition to physical products.Software business refers to commercial activities in and around the software industry, aimed at generating income from the delivery of software products and software services. Although the software business shares common features with other international knowledge-intensive businesses, it carries many inherent features making it a challenging domain for research. In particular software companies have to depend on one another to deliver a unique value proposition to their customers. Moreover recent developments like the emerging app economy offer a variety of opportunities for entrepreneurs or start-up companies.
ICSOB 2013 addresses researchers and practitioners, who are concerned with software business in different ways as well as the start-up community, which is increasingly focusing on mobile and social software.

C3S2E'13 - Sixth International C* Conference on Computer Science & Software Engineering
Track: Bridging service design, business services, and software services
DESCRIPTION
Service science is a multidisciplinary area which studies service systems from various perspectives such as technological, business, psychological, economical and social. The main objective is to develop new theories, frameworks, and tools for understanding service innovation and provisioning within businesses and organizations.
The research done so far has taken three main and distinct paths. On the one hand, the computer science community has been addressing services from a software perspective (e.g. by developing languages and frameworks to standardize the descriptions and interfaces, such as USDL, WSDL, and REST, of web-accessible services). This has originated extensive research on web services, service-oriented architectures, semantic web services, and service ontologies. The marketing community has been addressing services from the marketing and business perspective (e.g. through the standardization of best practices and controlling methodologies such as ITIL, COBIT, SERVQUAL, and CMMI-SVC). Some of the results of these efforts have been models for understanding and modeling service processes, models for understanding customer satisfaction and tools for measuring service quality have been some of the results. And a stream originating from service design has taken the design perspective (personas, blueprinting,...). It has targeted the deep dive into the world of actors within the service systems, aiming at the development and prototyping of scenarios for service improvements and innovations.
A missing link in current research is the one that brings these streams together, bridging the worlds of Business, Service Design and IT Services, by providing theories, models and tools to support the end-to-end design and deployment of services in organizations.
SUGGESTED TOPICS
The objective of this track is to encourage more research in this topic by providing a forum for interested authors to disseminate their research, compare results, and exchange ideas. Possible topics of interest include but are not limited to:

Betreff: [AISWorld] CFP ICT in Transition Economies (AMCIS 2013)
Datum: Fri, 4 Jan 2013 10:26:49 +0000
Von: Paulo Rupino Cunha <rupino(a)dei.uc.pt>
An: ISWorld list <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
Dear colleagues,
It is time. The AMCIS 2013 submission site is now open at http://aisel.aisnet.org/amcis2013
Submission Deadline: Feb 22, 2013 @ 11:59pm CST
Please consider submitting for the mini-track "ICT in Transition Economies" included in the track "ICTs in Global Development (SIGGlobDev)"
http://amcis2013.aisnet.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=56…
DESCRIPTION
Transition economies are a particular case of emerging economies, including countries from the former eastern bloc and those that resulted from the breakup of the Soviet Union, which, in the last two decades, have abandoned the communist-style central planning system and committed to substantial reforms to adopt a free market approach.
These fast growing transition economies play an increasingly significant role in the global market, with information and communication technologies (ICT) being a key driving force in this process.
However, despite their growing importance, research that specifically addresses the specificities and different challenges of ICT in transition economies is still scarce, when compared with the body of knowledge for developed countries.
The objective of this mini-track is to promote advances and dissemination of work done in this area.
SUGGESTED TOPICS
We are seeking papers dealing with ICT in the specific context of transition economies, but in their various facets, such as business, technical, social, political, cultural, economical, and legal.
Possible topics of interest to this special issue include but are not limited to the following:
• ICT service systems for a service economy;
• ICT governance and management;
• Design and deployment of ICT in small and medium enterprises;
• Success factors, barriers and risks of ICT adoption;
• Return on ICT investment (financial and other);
• ICT in global supply chains;
• Off-shoring and outsourcing of systems and services;
• E-government and e-democracy;
• Comparative cross-country research;
• Country specific case studies;

CALL FOR PAPERS
DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM
at the 13th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies
(ICALT 2013)
http://www.ask4research.info/icalt/2013/doctoral_consortium.php
Beijing, China
July 15-18, 2013
***Deadline for submissions: February 1, 2013***
What is the Doctoral Consortium?
********************************
The Doctoral Consortium is a workshop for Ph.D. students from all over the
world who are in the early phases of their dissertation work (i.e., in their
first or second year). The goal of the Doctoral Consortium is to help
students with their thesis and research plans by providing feedback and
general advice on using the research environment in a constructive and
international atmosphere. The Doctoral Consortium provides PhD students with
the opportunity to meet and discuss with experts in their area. Students
will present and discuss their thesis in the context of a well-known and
established international conference outside of their usual university
environment.
Up to 10 Ph.D. students will have the opportunity to participate. Students
will be required to pay the registration fees of the ICALT Conference
(student rates).
The Doctoral Consortium will consist of 3 sessions. The first session aims
at giving students the chance to present their work to others and get
familiar with the work of other PhD students in their area. Each PhD student
will give a very brief presentation (about 3 minutes) about his/her work
with focus on motivation and research problem. These presentations are
followed by a poster exhibition where individual discussion about each
student's work will take place. The third session aims at giving students
feedback from an expert in their area and letting them discuss their work
with him/her as well as with few other PhD students doing research in the
respective area.
After the notification of acceptance/rejection, each PhD student with an
accepted paper will be assigned to a small group consisting of 3-4 PhD
students and one expert in their area. Each group will start to communicate
and exchange their papers so that all members of the group are familiar with
the papers of each group member. During the third session, each small group
will meet individually and further discussions of the works will take place
with the expert in the respective research field and other PhD students.
Call for Papers and Topics

Call for Events
Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems
Krakow, Poland, September 8-11, 2013
www.fedcsis.org
The 2013 Federated Conference on Computer Science and Information Systems
cordially invites you to consider contributing an Event (conference,
symposium, workshop, consortium meeting, special session). The FedCSIS
multi-conference consists of a significant number of recurring Events, but
proposals for new associated Events are welcome until January 14, 2013.
The Events can run over any span of time within the conference dates; from
half-day to three days.
The FedCSIS Events provide a platform for bringing together researchers,
practitioners, and academia to present and discuss ideas, challenges, and
potential solutions on established or emerging topics related to research
and practice in computer science and information systems.
The Events will be selected based on the scientific/technical interest
and/or their relevance to practitioners in their topics, the clarity of
the proposal in addressing the requested information, the innovativeness
of the Event topics, and the capacity in the FedCSIS multi-conference
program.
In 2012, FedCSIS - held in Wroclaw, Poland - attracted 400 papers, of
which 195 articles were accepted as full papers (acceptance rate of
48.75%). Some events accepted additionally short and poster papers.
FedcSIS conference papers were published in the IEEE Xplore Digital
Library, while Proceedings of the CSERC Workshop were published in the ACM
Digital Library - two of three biggest repositories of academic
publications in computer science - assuring a worldwide reach.
Publications
As in previous years, pre-Proceedings will be published on a USB memory
stick given to FedCSIS participants. Next, papers presented during the
conference will be published in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, and
posted at the conference WWW site. The IEEE proceedings will be published
under an ISBN number (and an IEEE Catalog number), under a nonexclusive
copyright. Such copyright implies that Events' organizers can and, indeed,
are strongly encouraged to invite extended and revised papers for
post-conference publications in high-quality journals, edited volumes,
etc.
Event Proposals
Event proposals should include the following information (2 pages maximum):
1. The nature of the Event.
2. The title of the Event, and a clear description of the topic, including
a brief justification.
3. The complete contact information of the Event organizers, including a
link to their personal websites, and an overview of previous experiences
with organization of scientific events.
4. Preliminary list of PC members who have agreed to join.
5. Indication of the expected number of papers/attendees to attend the Event.
6. Information of expected post-Event publications, of extended and
revised papers,
in high-quality journals, edited volumes, etc.
Event organizers should email their proposals (in a single pdf file) by
January 14, 2013, to the FedCSIS Secretariat at: secretariat(a)fedcsis.org
More information concerning Event organization can be found at:
