Call for Papers
InTrust 2012: 4th International conference on Trusted Systems
17th-19th December 2012, London, UK
www.intrust2012.com
Building on the success of INTRUST 2009, 2010 and 2011 (all of
which were held in Beijing), this conference focuses on the
theory, technologies and applications of trusted systems. It
is devoted to all aspects of trusted computing systems,
including trusted modules, platforms, networks, services and
applications, from their fundamental features and
functionalities to design principles, architecture and
implementation technologies. The goal of the conference is to
bring academic and industrial researchers, designers, and
implementers together with end-users of trusted systems, in
order to foster the exchange of ideas in this challenging and
fruitful area. The conference will be hosted by the
Information Security Group at Royal Holloway, University of
London. INTRUST 2012 solicits original papers on any aspect of
the theory, advanced development and applications of trusted
computing, trustworthy systems and general trust issues in
modern computing systems.
Submissions must not substantially duplicate work that any of
the authors have published elsewhere or have submitted in
parallel to any journal or other conference or workshop that
has proceedings. Submissions will take place entirely via a
web system. All submissions will be blind-reviewed. Papers
must be anonymous, with no author names, affiliations,
acknowledgements, or obvious references. A submitted paper
should begin with a title, a short abstract, and a list of
keywords.
As was the case for INTRUST 2009 (LNCS 6163), INTRUST 2010
(LNCS 6802) and INTRUST 2011 (LNCS, to appear), it is
anticipated that the proceedings of INTRUST 2012 will be
published in the Springer-Verlag Lecture Notes in Computer
Science series. Unlike previous editions of this conference, it
is intended that the proceedings will be available at the
conference. Papers published in the LNCS series are indexed by
both EI and ISTP.
Clear instructions for the preparation of a final proceedings
version will be sent to the authors of accepted papers. Authors
are strongly recommended to submit their papers in the standard
LNCS format (see
http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-0-0-0
for details), with length at most 15 pages (excluding
bibliography and appendices). Committee members are not
required to review more pages than this, so papers should be
intelligible within this length. Submissions not meeting these
guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their
merits. Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their
paper will be presented at the conference.
Papers must be submitted using the EasyChair conference
management system at:
https://www.easychair.org//conferences/?conf=intrust2012
Please send any enquiries to:

Subject: [AISWorld] CFP: Cybercrime and IT Misuse @ AMCIS 2012
Date: Fri, 20 Jan 2012 17:36:58 -0500
From: Gurvirender Tejay <tejay(a)nova.edu>
To: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org
*CALL FOR PAPERS*
*18th AMCIS*, August 9 - 12, 2012, Seattle, Washington, USA
*Mini-track: Cybercrime and IT Misuse*
*Deadline*: March 1st (PST)
We invite you to participate in mini-track ?Cybercrime and
IT Misuse? scheduled for the 18th Americas Conference on
Information Systems (AMCIS).
This minitrack aims to encourage research that provides
insights into the issue of cybercrime and IT misuse. The
cybercriminal activities are rapidly evolving, with new
techniques being developed and exploited by hackers
worldwide. The cybercrime involving lone hackers has evolved
to growing participation of organized crime groups. There is
increasing industrialization of cybercriminal activities
with some hacking groups allocating dedicated budgets for
research and development. In the past, hackers may have
attacked for fun, notoriety, or to challenge themselves.
However, financial motivations are key
consideration nowadays. Organizations are also witnessing
constant IT misuse by insiders leading to significant
security issues. As cybercrime continues to increase,
we need a greater understanding of ways to de-incentivize
the impetus which drives individuals and groups to commit
these crimes. The worldwide nature of cybercrime also
involves significant issues related to development of
effective laws and cooperation across international
boundaries. There appears to be a need for research
into cybercrime activities, their causes, and possible
solutions.
We solicit promising papers that will enhance
our understanding of cybercrime and IT misuse. Few topics of
interest include (but not limited to):
· Understanding cybercrime activities
· Hacker motivations
· Technical-social aspects of cybercrime
· Legal challenges to cybercrime
· Cybercrime and societal implications
· Understanding IT misuse
· Ethical aspects of IT misuse
· IT misuse detection and investigation
· Organizational countermeasures to prevent IT misuse
We encourage you to submit a paper to this mini-track. This
mini-track is offered under ?*Information Systems Security,
Assurance, and Privacy*? track. You may obtain additional
information about the conference at
(http://amcis2012.aisnet.org).
Please feel free to email any inquiries on potential papers
for submission.

In the 21^st century, knowledge no longer exists in silos of
knowledge. Relevant and useful knowledge can be across
disciplines; beyond expected boundaries. Hence, effective
organizational learning requires efficient and effective
tools, which enable the user to effectively seek,
reconstruct and transform the information gathered into
meaningful and novel knowledge.
The transformation of information into knowledge involves an
iterative process. Learners need to /design, prototype and
test out/ alternative solutions by iteratively and
collaboratively investigating and designing and redesigning
goals that direct convergent and divergent search processes,
processes/behaviours and representations of knowledge
structures in relation to a systemic whole, to achieve more
effective processes and outcomes (Kolodner, Crismond, Fasse,
Gray, Holbrook and Puntembakar, 2003; Vattam, Goel,
Rugaber, Hmelo-Silver, Jordan, Gray and Sinha, 2011).
/Learning-by designing/thus adds the dimensions of
generative design questioning and deep reasoning and
synthesis to information discovery. By giving priority to
divergent thinking above convergent thinking, generation of
alternatives is likely to become richer. Ultimately, it is
hoped that learners will have more ideas (be more fluent),
have more categories of ideas (be more flexible), be more
novel and more practical and most importantly, be
intrinsically motivated and successful thinkers.
This special issue aims to present an overview of how design
thinking (especially with regards to creativity and
cognition), can be supported, managed and sustained through
the use of technology. Proposals sought range from lessons
from the industry to academia. The special issueâ??s scope
covers how intelligent technologies can scaffold creative
processes and how user experience can be augmented in
creative and engaging ways.
Recommended topics of interest include, but are not
limited to:
ï?·Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Intelligent and creative interface design
ï?·Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Building a community of inquiry, reflection
and collaborative creativity
ï?·Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Roadmap: transitioning from experimental
stages to every day applications
ï?·Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Visions on the future of the book
ï?·Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Approaches, creative processes and
technologies for increased engagement
ï?·Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Techniques towards enhancing user

In recent years, Business Process Management (BPM), a set of
structured methods and technologies for managing business
processes, has emerged as a powerful concept used by
organisations across all industries. Designing, measuring,
improving, simulating, and controlling business processes
has become the central challenge to improve organisations´
performance and to ensure success in a highly competitive
world. As a result, the need for BPM expertise is increasing
with many BPM-related roles emerging, which often requires
new sets of skills. Thus, BPM education has been raised as a
perennial topic.
The topic of BPM education has many different facets. For
example, the challenges of converting the
?function-oriented? organisations and its employees to
process-oriented thinkers; effectively training employees to
select and use the specific methods and tools for managing
business processes within the different areas of designing,
measuring, improving, simulating, and controlling, and the
overall challenges of teaching a complex multidisciplinary
domain like BPM.Furthermore, it is recognised that BPM
education is not only required for those in BPM specific
roles in an organisation, but an essential requirement for
employees on all levels including top executives,
supervisory board members, workers associations, and other
stakeholders ? to ensure acceptance and support for
improvement initiatives. The required skill sets for BPM
capabilities are very diverse and include business skills,
technical skills, and a range of soft-generic-skills such as
facilitation, negotiation, relationship, and change
management, and to date there is a lack and a need for a
clear body of BPM knowledge. A further challenge is how to
spread BPM-related knowledge to all levels of an
organization to ensure BPM thinking is embedded in all daily
actions. Subsequently, there are many issues awaiting to be
examined, studied, and addressed.
This special issue of the KM&EL international journal is
dedicated to learning, instructing, and disseminating
knowledge in the field of BPM. In this call, we invite
manuscripts that report empirical studies (both quantitative
and qualitative) of investigating issues and challenges
related to BPM education as well as the use or design of
tools supporting teaching efforts. In addition, this special
issue welcomes manuscripts discussing conceptual frameworks
or theoretical constructs related to learning, teaching, and
disseminating BPM knowledge.
Recommended topics of interest include, but not limited to:
* Strategies of learning and educating about BPM
* What should be taught under the ?BPM? banner?
* Curriculum design for BPM training in companies,
government, and universities
* Learners? perceptions and their impact on their
participation in BPM initiatives
* Learners? motivation in BPM initiatives
* Strategies and tools to facilitate learning in the BPM
context
* Role of instructors, coaches, or facilitators in BPM
* Role plays and other tools for teaching purposes in BPM
projects
* New approaches to delivering BPM education, including
the use of collaborative tools, Web-based conferencing,
and social networking
* Best practices for incorporating advanced information
technology into BPM education
* Use of advanced technologies such as process simulation
for (distance) education
in BPM
* Constructs and factors influencing the success of
learning and educating BPM knowledge
* Strategies and tools to facilitate peer interactions,
collaboration, and other learning activities
* Setting up a BPM center of excellence to disseminate BPM
know-how
* Building, managing, and sustaining knowledge on BPM

-- Federated with COMPARCH 2012 --
ISARCS is at the third edition and it is the perfect venue for exchanging ideas on both theory and practice for architecting critical systems. Architecting these systems has the big challenge to guarantee both the perceived and objective dependability and security even accepting service degradation. This requires trade-off among the various attributes of dependability and security that cannot be considered in isolation. We are interested in submissions from both industry and academia, including, but not limited to, the following main areas:
Architectural styles and patterns
Architectural support for evolution
Aspects-oriented development
Assurance-based development
Automotive and avionic systems
Component-based development
Critical infrastructures
E-commerce, e-business, and e-government
Embedded, mobile, and ubiquitous systems
Extensible ADLs
Fault injection
Industrial case studies, challenges, problems, and solutions
Inspection techniques
Integration of processes, tools, and analysis techniques
Integrators (wrappers) for dependability
Model checking
Model-driven development
Redundancy and diversity
Runtime checks
Self-healing
Survivability and error confinement
Testing and simulation
Theorem proving
Tolerating architectural mismatches
Type checking techniques
