Besides building a community, the main result will be the continued development of a research agenda to guide and support researchers in the field. Topic ----- Software-based systems are changing. There is increasing interest in autonomic and self-* systems that are dynamic and flexibility based on new capabilities to self-reconfigure and self-resolve anomalous situations. Currently these capabilities are delivered using services, and in particular web services, using a service-oriented approach. Web services are the natural evolution of conventional middleware technologies to support Web-based and enterprise-level integration, but the paradigm can also serve as basis for other classes of systems. For example, it can be applied to support all systems which require a high degree of flexibility and dynamism to discover available functionality at run-time and to negotiate its quality parameters dynamically. This is the case, for example, for ambient computing and automotive applications that need to cope with changing (evolving) configurations. The dynamic nature of these systems precludes the a-priori identification of the components that define the system and demands for the run-time discovery and composition of such services. To realize a service-oriented architecture we need techniques to identify and specify requirements on services in a machine-interpretable way to enable the dynamic composition and deployment of systems that meet the expectations of the different stakeholders. We need new capabilities to monitor the behavior of deployed systems and reasoning on partial matches, deviations, and corrective actions. We need to be able to exploit the availability of services to discover new opportunities that improve existing requirements processes and techniques. And finally, we need to be able to configure systems from different types of services, including web services, software components and hybrid services that include human intervention. The workshop will enable communities that work on requirements and service-oriented applications to meet together and share their knowledge to set appropriate theoretical foundations, define special-purpose methodologies for requirements elicitation, and develop supporting technology. The workshop also aims at promoting research directions on requirements engineering for the class of applications that require autonomic and self-managing systems. Contributions ------------- Authors are expected to submit full papers of approximately 5,000 words and position papers of approximately 2,000 words. WORLDCOMP'11 is composed of a number of tracks (joint-conferences, tutorials, and workshops); all will be held simultaneously, same location and dates: July 18-21, 2011. SUBMISSION OF PAPERS: Authors who submit papers in response to this announcement, will have their papers evaluated for publication consideration in the Final Edition of the conference proceedings which will go to press in late August 2011 (the conference would then make the necessary arrangements to ship the printed proceedings/book to such authors). The Final Edition of the conference proceedings will be identical to earlier edition except for a number of sections/chapters appended to the proceedings/book. The Final Edition will be indexed by Inspec / IET / The Institute for Engineering and Technology, DBLP / CS Bibliography, and others (in the past, all tracks of this federated congress have also been included in EI Compendex/Elsevier.) The proceedings will be published in both, printed book/ISBN form as well as online. Prospective authors are invited to submit their papers by uploading them to the evaluation web site at: http://world-comp.org Submissions must be uploaded by May 23, 2011 and they must be in either MS doc (but not docx) or pdf formats (about 5 to 7 pages - single space, font size of 10 to 12). All reasonable typesetting formats are acceptable (later, the authors of accepted papers will be asked to follow a particular typesetting format to prepare their final papers for publication.) Papers must not have been previously published or currently submitted for publication elsewhere. The first page of the paper should include: title of the paper, name, affiliation, postal address, and email address for each author. The first page should also identify the name of the Contact Author and a maximum of 5 topical keywords that would best represent the content of the paper. Finally, the name of the conference (see the list below) that the paper is being submitted for consideration must be stated on the first page. The length of the final/Camera-Ready papers (if accepted) will be limited to 7 (two-column IEEE style) pages. Each paper will be peer-reviewed by two experts in the field for originality, significance, clarity, impact, and soundness. In cases of contradictory recommendations, a member of the conference program committee will be charged to make the final decision (accept/reject) - often, this would involve seeking help from additional referees by using a double-blinded review process. In addition, all papers whose authors included a member of the conference program committee will be evaluated using the double-blinded review process. Termin und Ziel --------------------------------- Im Rahmen der naechsten Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik 2012 in Braunschweig findet am 28.02.2012 ein BISE-Workshop statt. Mit diesem Workshop moechten wir Autoren, die bereits an einer Einreichung fuer die BISE arbeiten bzw. sich dies derzeit ueberlegen, die Moeglichkeit bieten, ihre Ideen vorab mit dem Editor-in-Chief, den Department Editors und anderen Autoren zu diskutieren. Ziel des Workshops soll es sein, durch konstruktive Anregungen den aus wissenschaftlicher Sicht interessanten Kern herauszuarbeiten und die methodische Qualitaet des Beitrags bereist vor einer Einreichung sicher zu stellen, um so den Anspruechen der Zeitschrift an Rigorositaet und Relevanz bereits fruehzeitig gerecht zu werden. --------------------------------- 2. Prozess --------------------------------- Eingereicht werden koennen erweiterte Abstracts mit einer Laenge von ca. 20.000 Zeichen. Diese sollten neben der Motivation und den behandelten Forschungsfragen auch den State-of-the-Art skizzieren, die Forschungsmethode beschreiben und die erwarteten Ergebnisse skizzieren. Jeder Abstract wird durch den jeweiligen Department Editor sowie den Editor-in-Chief begutachtet. Die drei besten Arbeiten werden anschliessend zum Workshop eingeladen. Im Rahmen des Workshops werden die jeweiligen Arbeiten dann von den Autoren praesentiert und anschliessend im Plenum diskutiert. --------------------------------- 3. Themenfelder --------------------------------- Beitraege aus Forschung und Praxis sind u. a. zu folgenden (gerne auch weiteren) Themenfeldern erwuenscht: Beitraege, die sich mit Theorien, Methoden, Werkzeugen und intersubjektiv ueberpruefbaren Erkenntnissen ueber Informations- und Kommunikationssysteme befassen. These are required to address the pressing need to harness and marshal resources across dynamic and heterogeneous environments. Cooperative systems create spaces where entities can interact with each other and their environments, and provide services in order to help achieve specific goals. They are characterised by the degree of distribution, the underlying mode of interaction and the level of autonomy of the entities. Client-server architectures, P2P systems, GRID systems and multi-agent systems (MAS) identify different models of cooperative behaviour. Within the scope of cooperation, architectural frameworks in e-commerce, e-government, e-learning and computer supported cooperative work (CSCW) have been successfully introduced to generate synergy between humans and systems. While hypermedia and personalisation systems represent specific instances of direct adaptation, software agents have ushered in proxy interventions on behalf of users. It is in pervasive environments that cooperation between different entities is finding its full expression; symbiotic relationships are being embedded and seamless transitions initiated and sustained. Effective cooperation demands that autonomous entities and systems overcome their environmental heterogeneity and resolve their syntactic and semantic differences. By adhering to common abstractions and models the participating entities are insulated from the complexity of the environments of their protagonists. This facilitates the unfolding of processes such as data and system integration, coordination of behaviour, resource access and sharing, and participation in complex activities. In managing the differences between entities, systems and environments a range of methods and techniques were introduced in order to support interoperation and facilitate semantic interoperability. Resource and process management, configuration, adaptation and negotiation define a wide spectrum of cooperation, from reactive behaviour to proactive intervention. The usage of graphical representations of work and business process such as process models can be considered a common practice in modern organizations. As their development can become a complex task it is reasonable to draft them collaboratively. Also they become increasingly useful when used by larger groups throughout an organization. However despite modeling being a popular approach in practice, models are hardly used by non-experts and have little impact on the people actually working in these processes. This raises questions such as why there is so little use of models after their creation, how this usage can be increased and which kind of tools and modes of interaction are suitable for non-modeling experts. Furthermore as collaborative modeling most of the time remains restricted to collocated facilitated workshops. This approach however is not feasible as processes have to be rapidly adjusted to changing conditions inside and outside of an organization. Given the increasing usage of graphical representations in organizations, their collaborative use and creation is of vital interest for the CSCW community and therefore this workshop can be a starting point in forming a research community. ---Topics--- The workshop welcomes different kind of contributions, including the description of case studies and other empirical work on model usage and development, position papers e.g. describing future research and educational experiences with collaborative models usage and development.
