Background
==========
The new International Conference on IT-enabled Innovation in Enterprise
aims to provide a premier forum for the presentation and discussion of
business and organisational innovation associated with Information
Technology (IT).
In a global and interconnected economy of the 21st century innovation
management is an important aspect for enterprise sustainability and
survival. Over the last years the topic has attracted large interest
from research and practitioners alike. An organisation’s competitive
advantage depends on the ability of its people, processes, and systems
to manage innovation and seek sustainability. Innovation Management has
been discussed and examined from a variety of perspectives, including
behavioural, managerial, strategic and technological. In this regard,
information technology and technology innovation are frequently referred
as enablers and facilitators of innovation.
With this conference we intend to complement the mostly behavioural and
technology centred discussion on innovation. The aim of this conference
is to examine how information technology enables and generates
innovation and thus provides value to enterprises. The goal of this
conference is to discuss and share best practices, experiences, models,
methods and tools for innovation and enterprise renewal.
The conference seeks contributions on real-world business and
organisational applications, management concepts, models, methods and
tools associated with information technology enabled innovation. In this
regard, we encourage the submission of design science research for
innovation management in the form of constructs, models, methods and
instantiations. In-line with the aim of this conference, contributions
must highlight the value and innovation driven by information technology
in enterprise.
The idea of the conference is to provide a forum and platform for both
researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge, ideas and to learn

Scope and Goals
===============
For several years research and practice has addressed various topics
related to Data Management such as data modeling, data warehousing, data
movement, database administration and data mining. However recent
advances in technology provided us the possibility to gather enormous
amounts of data. This resulted in many new challenges for data
management. Most frequent examples of the technology advances are
mobile, wireless and sensor technology providing many opportunities for
innovative applications. The large amount of data, gathered anywhere
from anything, requires different solutions than traditional data
management approaches.
With this workshop we intend to present and discuss novel approaches in
data management and information analytics. Overall aim of this workshop
is to examine how advances in technology have changed traditional data
management approaches and how these advances enable enterprises to
increase the value of information. In the context of advances in
technology, the goal of this workshop is to discuss and share best
practices, experiences, models, architectures, methods and tools for
data management and information analytics.
Challenges for data management arise not only from managing large data
volumes, but also from an increased complexity in the data manufacturing
system. Data often is provided from many heterogeneous sources. Data
transfer and transformation routines are complex and often involve a
variety and large number of database systems and applications.
Furthermore, enterprises often not only utilize structured data, but
also include more frequently semi-structured or unstructured data
sources. Support for data integration, quality management, modeling and
managing complex data manufacturing systems are crucial, in order to
provide benefit for enterprises. In contrast to more traditional
environments, data in these complex systems are often not certain, not
always accessible or of different quality. This calls for different
approaches in data management.
Another important topic regarding data management is data mining and
analytics, which can expose interesting information about the data being
collected. Further research challenges arise from the large amount of
relationship data. Novel approaches in analyzing relationships between
data, can provide additional insight and thus benefits enterprises. In
these data-rich environments, privacy and data security provides further
challenges for data management. Overall economic evaluations are
required to assess the benefit of novel approaches of data management to
enterprises.
The idea of the workshop is to provide a forum and platform for both
researchers and practitioners to exchange knowledge, ideas and to learn
from each other. Practitioners and researchers present findings and
experience.
The workshop seeks contributions on concepts, models, architectures,
methods and tools associated with data management and information
analytics. In this regard, we encourage the submission of design science
research in the form of constructs, models, methods and instantiations.
We invite contributions from industry, academia and collaborative

Mini-Track: Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining
=====================================
Riyaz T. Sikora (co-chair SIGABIS)
University of Texas at Arlington
One of the side effects of the increase in connectivity and
collaboration has been the phenomenal increase in the magnitude and
volatility of the available data. Intelligent methods are now emerging
as a way to deal with this staggering variety and volume of data in
distributed and heterogeneous environments. This has become especially
relevant since most large-scale information systems applications of
today assume that components will be added dynamically and that they
will be autonomous (serve different users or providers and fulfill
different goals) and heterogeneous (be built in different ways).
The mini-track on AI and DM provides a forum to bring together
like-minded researchers, teachers, and practitioners to advance this
important field. The AI/DM mini-track will seek research and
applications highlighting the frontiers of new knowledge and advances in
AI and DM. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Foundations of AI and DM
* Machine Learning and Statistical Learning Algorithms
* Data Mining
* Pattern Recognition
* Intelligent Agents
* Heuristic Search

Mini-Track: Intelligent Agent & Multi-Agent Systems and Semantic Web
Applications
===============================================================
Vijayan Sugumaran, Oakland University
Stefan Kirn, Universität Hohenheim
Intelligent agent and semantic technologies have been one of the most
important and rapidly advancing areas in Information Technology. There
is a tremendous explosion in the development of multi-agent systems and
semantic web applications in a variety of fields such as electronic
commerce, supply chain management, intelligent manufacturing, mass
customization, information retrieval and filtering, decision support,
simulation, and healthcare. While research on various aspects of
intelligent agent and semantic technologies is progressing at a very
fast pace, this is only the beginning. There are still a number of
issues that have to be explored in terms of the design, implementation
and deployment of multi-agent systems and semantic technologies. For
example, salient characteristics of agents in different domains, formal
approaches for agent-oriented modeling, ontology based information
system, ontology engineering, semantic web for e-learning, and
organizational impact of agent-based systems & semantic technologies are
some of the areas in need of further research. The purpose of this
mini-track is to provide a forum for academics and practitioners to
identify and explore the issues, opportunities, and solutions related to
intelligent agent and semantic technology design, implementation,
integration and deployment.
Possible Topics (but not limited to):
* Intelligent Applications in Business
* Distributed Intelligent Systems
* Agent architectures and behavior models

CALL FOR PAPERS
AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction (http://thci.aisnet.org
<http://thci.aisnet.org/>)
Special Issue on "Design Research in HCI
Submission deadline: 31st May 2010
Website: http://aisel.aisnet.org/thci/THCI_Design_Research_Call_2009_12.pdf
Co-Editors: Alan Hevner and Ping Zhang
Design Research creates, builds, and evaluates innovative artifacts such
as constructs, frameworks, models, methods,
and information systems. It also investigates methods, behaviors, and
processes related to design. HCI Research is
concerned with the ways humans interact with information, technologies,
and tasks, especially in business, managerial,
organizational, and cultural contexts. Although design, implementation,
and evaluation of interactive information systems
for human use in various contexts for various purposes are central parts
of HCI research, IS scholars have yet to invest
more effort on the design part of HCI. The critical role of design
research in HCI is obvious.
This special issue of THCI calls for innovative design research where
the innovative artifacts are information and
communication technologies (ICT) for human use. Emphasis can be on both
the human and the ICT sides of the
interaction. On the human side, use design draws from the knowledge base
of psychology, social sciences, and human
factors. On the ICT side, interface and interaction design draws from
the knowledge base of computer graphics, sensory
peripheral devices, and other technical areas to build user interfaces
that enable effective system use.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Science and/or theories for design in HCI
- Philosophical foundation of design in HCI
- New principles and methods of design in HCI
- Specific design innovations to support individuals, groups,
organizations or societies
- Design aesthetics, emotional design, affective computing
- Evaluating and comparing new interactions and interfaces
- Integration of new technologies in HCI designs
- Best practices of design in HCI
- Impacts of mobility and distributed computing in HCI designs
- Impacts of service-oriented architectures and cloud computing on
HCI designs
