CALL FOR PAPERS:
Editor-in-Chief: Chuleeporn Changchit, Texas A&M University - Corpus
Christi
Mission
The mission of the Journal of Information Privacy and Security (JIPS) is
to serve both academics and practitioners as a reliable source on issues
of information privacy and security. The Journal is a high quality
refereed journal that seeks support from academicians, industry experts
and specific government agencies. The JIPS focuses on publishing
articles that address the paradoxical nature of privacy versus security
amidst current global conditions. It is increasingly important that
various constituents of information begin to understand their role in
finding solutions to achieve a delicate balance between security and
privacy.
The JIPS will facilitate understanding of the information assurance
technical framework as it pertains to government agencies, companies and
individuals. The topics may include the information privacy and security
issues pertaining to initiatives on counter-terrorism efforts around the
world, the impact of U.S. federal regulation and compliance issues
facing global corporations, the impact of privacy and security
initiatives within small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and e-gambling.
Article submissions are encouraged from both academics and
practitioners. Each issue will include high quality articles from
academics and practitioners, case studies, book reviews, and industry
interviews. The Journal addresses issues of privacy and security from a
global perspective and will consider articles with a cross-functional
focus. The Journal will include articles in the following areas:
- Information Assurance frameworks
- Network security and impact on corporate infrastructure
- Privacy laws and impact on information compliance issues
- The duality of privacy and security and impact on corporate operations
- Governmental regulations and changes on information security
requirements
- Data transfer issues across nations, states, and corporations
- Privacy and security requirements in B2B and B2C information flows
- Cross-functional aspects of information assurance and requirements
faced by various business functions within companies
- Web sites, portals and the issue of trust
- Information privacy and security as it relates to end-users
- Applications and case studies in privacy and security issues facing
business organizations, government agencies and individuals
- Emerging topics such as biometrics, software utilities, and IT
obligations and how they change the business environment
Review Process
Each article will be blind-reviewed by three members of the editorial
review board. Reviewer recommendation will be considered by the
Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor. For a revision and rewrite, a
revised paper will be sent to one of the Editors for final approval. The
final decision will be made by the Editor-in-Chief.
Interested authors should consult the journal's manuscript submission

Ziele der Tagung
----------------
diskutieren. Hierzu zählen u.a. auf Geschäfts- und IT-Ziele
zugeschnittene, moderne Anforderungsanalyse- und Entwicklungs- und
Wartungsmethoden (agil, verteilt, modellbasiert, nutzerintegriert),
wiederverwendbare Gestaltungskonzepte (Regeln, Muster, Domänenmodelle,
Referenzarchitekturen), automatisierte Entwicklungsschritte
(Modelltransformationen, modellbasiertes Testen),
Qualitätssicherungsverfahren (Test, Review, Modelchecking), flexible
Architekturen (service-orientiert, ereignisbasiert, selbst-koordiniert,
dynamisch adaptierend, Produktlinien), Softwareplattformen (Open Source
Frameworks, Software Stacks), Programmier- und Hardwareparadigmen
(SaaS/PaaS, SOC, AOP, DSL, Generative SW-Entwicklung,
Teilen zusammen:
* Technisch-wissenschaftliches Programm
* Industrietag
* Workshops
* Tutorien
* Doktorandensymposium

*2nd Call for Papers*
/AMCIS 2010: August 12 - 15, 2010/
/Track: IT in Healthcare// //
Minitrack: Ubiquitous and Pervasive Computing in Healthcare// /
*Description: *
Healthcare is the most apt domain for the application of ubiquitous
technologies. The essence of "Ubiquitous Healthcare" lies in the
creation of an environment where healthcare is available to everyone,
everywhere without any dependence on time and location and where
technologies enabling ubiquitous healthcare would not only be pervasive
but also be assimilated flawlessly in the daily lives.
Ubiquitous healthcare involves a paradigm shift in healthcare,
practices, delivery, and view. Enabling this paradigm shift will lead to
personalizing and consumerizing healthcare and flawlessly assimilating
the technologies into the patient’s home such that concurrent
prevention, diagnosis, and treatment can occur. This transformation
implies technical applications of consumer-operated interoperable
standard technologies for maintaining health and wellness by leveraging
technologies supporting ubiquitous communication, computing, and
intelligent user-friendly interfaces such as: PDAs, mobile phones, etc.
At the level of the healthcare organization, ubiquitous healthcare will
lead to a change from doctor centric systems to patient centric
operational models.
Although promising, there are myriad challenges associated with
realizing the vision of ubiquitous and pervasive healthcare.
The objective of the mini-track is to address these challenges by
soliciting work-in-progress and completed research papers covering
technical, organizational, behavioral, economical, and managerial
perspectives on ubiquitous and pervasive computing in healthcare that:
(1) study the development of ubiquitous computing, ubiquitous
communication, and, intelligent interfaces and infrastructure supporting
ubiquitous healthcare, (2) propose and/or evaluate the design,
development, and implementation of ubiquitous healthcare applications,
(3) assess the impact of ubiquitous healthcare applications on patients,
doctors, healthcare organization, and society in general, and (4)
develop theories to better understand the emerging phenomenon of
ubiquitous healthcare.
*Possible topics could include but are not limited to the following:*
- Business models and strategic applications of ubiquitous healthcare
- Definition and conceptual models/framework of ubiquitous and pervasive
healthcare
- Design, development, implementation, and/or evaluation of novel
ubiquitous healthcare applications and services
- Design and development of emerging technologies supporting ubiquitous
healthcare

CALL FOR PAPERS - 16th Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS)
Minitrack "Advancing Enterprise Resource Planning through Technology"
August 12-15, 2010, Lima (Peru)
**********************************************************
Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems have evolved from large monolithic systems
to more and more fragmented systems distributing just about any aspect of a system:
functions, processes, data, hardware and infrastructure. This change has gone hand in
hand with the incorporation of more and more business functionality into ERP. Starting
from material requirements planning (MRP) and manufacturing resource planning (MRP
II), the financial and human resources functions as well as executive information
systems and eventually long-term strategic planning support for senior management have
been included.
These developments have made an ERP system "the" core information system of an
organization ? and the technological backbone that other information systems need to
collaborate with. ERP related functionality such as supply chain management (SCM ),
customer relationship management (CRM) and supplier relationship management (SRM) is
either integrated, embedded or closely coupled with an ERP system.
Software, hardware and networking technology has enabled the increased importance of
ERP systems, but it also posed technological and managerial challenges. In contrast to
the early ERP monoliths, we nowadays have distributed architectures ? both
conventional in-house architectures such as client-server and service oriented
architectures (SOA) as well as externally hosted architectures used by
application-service-providing (ASP) and software-on-demand solutions. With the
appearance of mobile commerce, software-as-a-service (SaaS) approaches and cloud
computing, additional challenges have emerged.
Technologies such as radio frequency identification (RFID) have opened up new
opportunities for an organization to act and react in real-time. RFID, smart items and
the "Internet of things" impose new requirements on ERP systems, such as being capable
of context-aware information processing.
For the new technologies to be successfully implemented, security issues need to be
resolved and a satisfactory level of trust in the technologies has to be created. The
major vendors' inability to generate significant revenue from software-on-demand
solutions indicates that businesses are not ready yet to adopt out-of-house ERP
solutions on a large-scale basis. The hurdle is likely to be even higher when
anonymous providers of infrastructure and services come into the game, as is the case
with cloud computing. Organizations seem to be hesitant about having their
mission-critical business processes run somewhere out in a "cloud" and maintaining
their core business data in a nirvana.
The rationale of this minitrack is exploration of new technologies that can further
enhance enterprise resource planning. We invite papers that pursue a constructionist
approach to information systems development, following an engineering-like or
design-science research style. Papers presenting the development of prototypes as a
proof of concept are welcome. Technology-oriented papers should give consideration to
the business value of the proposed approaches or solutions.
Suggested Topics
? Architectures for ERP and related business information systems
? ERP systems based on service oriented architectures (SOA)
? Software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for ERP and related areas
? Orchestrating an ERP system from web services/enterprise services
? ERP on demand for small and medium-size enterprises
? Federated ERP systems, standardization and collaboration issues
? ERP and cloud computing
? Impact of virtualization and infrastructure-as-a-service on ERP
? Integrating RFID solutions with ERP
? Impact of the "Internet of things" on future ERP systems
? Integrating legacy ERP systems with new components using state-of-the-art
technologies
? Mobile ERP and related areas such as mobile SCM, mobile CRM and mobile SRM
? Security issues and trust in new technologies for enterprise resource planning

RULE 2010
Eleventh International Workshop on Rule-Based Specification and Programming
Rule-Based Programming in Industry and the Semantic Web
Edinburgh, UK
July 14, 2010
Workshop affiliated to FLoC 2010 as post-conference event of RTA 2010
http://wiki.di.uminho.pt/twiki/bin/view/Events/RULE2010/WebHome
With the renewed interest in rule-based computing for industrial
applications (e.g., Business Rules) especially
as it relates to the Semantic Web ( e.g., the W3C's Rule Interchange
Format), it is timely to explore the
practical benefits delivered by computing with rules and ontologies in
the large. Thus, this year's theme will
focus on rule-based programming in Industry and the Semantic Web. The
emphasis will be on implemented systems
that have been actually used in pragmatic situations where the
advantages of rule-driven computation and
inference have made all the difference, such advantages being:
* agility
* declarativeness
* maintainability
* documentability
* scalability
* meta-programmability
* reliability
* formal semantics
* etc., ...
In terms of the Semantic Web, we explicitly call for submissions that
probe (in a pragmatic setting) how
rule-based approaches complement ontology-based approaches, which share
some of the characteristics of rule
systems, such as declarativeness and formal semantics.
Paper submission
We are solliciting papers dealing with topics related to this year's
theme discussing any or several of
the itemized facets of the combinations of rules and ontologies, going
beyond academic experiments and
meant for large-scale or industrial applications. Papers should contain
no more than 10 pages, including
figures, and submitted through EasyChair using the standard EPTCS LaTeX
style file.

CfP: 8th international conference on Practical Aspects of Knowledge
Management: PAKM 2010
====================================================
November 10-12, 2010 Philadelphia - USA
The Eighth Conference on
Practical Aspects of Knowledge Management
http://www.ischool.drexel.edu/PAKM2010/
************* FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS *************
Submission due 7 April 2010
Conference: 10 to 12 November 2010
Workshops: 10 November 2010
Scientific Program: 11-12 November 2010
AIMS AND SCOPE
==============
The PAKM Conference Series offers a communication forum and meeting
ground for practitioners and researchers. The conference focus is on
developing and deploying advanced business solutions for the management
of knowledge in organizations and other communities that can benefit
from its methods.
This year's conference we will pay particular attention to the
innovations on the interaction between Business, Computer Science,
Information Systems, and Library and Information Science.
PAKM is a forum for people to share their views, to exchange novel
ideas, to develop new insights, and to envision, propose and demonstrate
new kinds of solutions and new organizational methods and/or tools to
Knowledge Management problems.
Management in companies deals with many things: people, energy,
materials, etc. The management integrates them as a whole system and
organizes the flow between the parts efficiently. In some companies, the
same is done with knowledge. What methods are available and how well
this integration of knowledge is understood?
Libraries and universities are examples of organizations where knowledge
plays a major role within management. What methods are available to
integrate knowledge (e.g., curricula, expertise, centers of excellence,
programs) with people and other resources in libraries and universities?
The topics will cover relevant and applicable aspects of knowledge
management. We invite practitioners and researchers from all over the
world to submit papers. We are looking forward to a conference which
will address a wide spectrum of topics from a variety of perspectives.
We seek original contributions in the business and organization
sciences, cognitive science, library and information science,
information systems and computer science that represent a true
advancement beyond the state-of-the-art of Knowledge Management.
Business and organization sciences provide the overall framework for
developing a knowledge management approach with a focus on the business
aspects rather than on information technology aspects.
Computer science provides the tools needed to build the information
systems that are often required to make certain aspects of a knowledge
management solution work. Cognitive science helps to design knowledge
management solutions in line with the cognitive capabilities of the
people involved and optimally embedded in their work context.
Library and information science analyzes how to organize and understand
knowledge for the benefit of the users.
