Camera ready papers: July 10, 2006
CRIWG 2006 Workshop: September 16-21, 2006
Doctoral Colloquium: September 17, 2006
Submission deadline for doctoral colloquium papers: July 19, 2006
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The CRIWG 2006 full and work in progress papers will be published by
Springer-Verlag as part of their Lecture Notes in Computer Science series
(http://www.springeronline.com/lncs). Additionally, it is highly probable
that a selected set of papers will be published in special issues of
well-known journals, as in previous editions of CRIWG. Special issues at
the "e-service journal" and "International Journal on e-collaboration" are
already confirmed while others are in negotiation.
Electronic paper submissions are due on April 24, 2006 in two categories:
full technical papers and work in progress papers. Full papers have a
length of up to 16 pages while work in progress papers should have a
maximum length of 8 pages, both of them following the Springer LNCS
format. Full and work in progress paper have to be submitted using a
Web-site to be announced soon.
We will use a double-blind reviewing process. Please, do not include the
author's name and affiliation or any indication, which may disclose the
paper's authorship, in the submitted paper itself.
As a result of the reviewing process, the Program Committee may suggest
changes in the format and/or the contents of the paper, including the
category of the paper. In this case, a paper will be conditionally
accepted. The PC Chairs will decide on the final acceptance or rejection,
based on the analysis of the revised paper. The format for the final
version will be the Springer LNCS format
(http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html), which includes e.g.
templates for MS Word and Latex.
Paper submissions for the doctoral colloquium are due on August 14, 2006.
For submission guidelines concerning the doctoral colloquium please refer
to the CRIWG 2006 web site (http://www.criwg.org).
KEYNOTE SPEAKER
Prof. Clarence A. (Skip) Ellis, University of Colorado at Boulder, USA
Director of Collaboration Technology Research Group
Coauthor of the seminal paper with S. Gibbs and G. Rein,
"Groupware: The Research and Development Issues", published in the
Communications of the ACM in 1991.
CONFERENCE VENUE
The conference will take place in the historical castle of Medina del
in the 15th century and refurbished in 1942 has an important historical
role, being used by the Catholic kings as their residence, and later as an
important prison of the many enemies of spanish kings, like Cesar Borgia
(the inspirer of Maquiavelo's Prince) or Hernando Pizarro (with his
brother Francisco, conquerors of Peru). The castle is placed in a
prominent hill upon which castilian flat landscape can be overviewed.
The nearby village of Medina del Campo has always been renowned by its
ferias generales, markets for products brought from all Europe. Nowadays,
this market survives devoted to agricultural and farming products of the
region, and can be enjoyed by visitors every Sunday.
One of the region's most remarkable products, wine, can be fully enjoyed
in Medina del Campo. It is the center of one of the denominations of
origin of wine in Spain ("vino de la Tierra de Medina"), but several
others are very close (remarkably, "Rueda" and "Ribera de Duero" among
others). Many vineyards and cellars are open to visitors, having also
restaurants were wine can be tasted along with the excellent "lechazo"
(lamb) cooked in traditional wood ovens, among several other regional
dishes.

INVITATION
----------
Computer Algebra Packages (CAPs) - such as Mathematica, Maple,
Matlab, Scilab and many others - are an integral part of Mathematical
Software. In addition to their powerful symbolic manipulation
capabilities, they also provide the users with a large number of
appealing features, such as arbitrary-precision calculations, a fully
integrated framework for numerical/symbolic computation, nice
visualization tools and graphical user interfaces (GUIs), reliable
and fast communication tools and protocols, the possibility of
running remote kernels and performing calculations on the Web, etc.
This session will focus on new software developments (packages,
notebooks, worksheets, libraries, etc.) carried out on any computer
algebra package and introducing innovative solutions to mathematical
and scientific problems. The session will also be a forum for the
discussion of the potential and real advantages and shortcomings of
these computer algebra systems for mathematical software.
The technical session is a part of the International Conference on
Mathematical Software, ICMS'2006 (a ICM satellite event), that will
be held in Castro Urdiales, Spain, September 1-3 2006.
TOPICS
