Subject: [AISWorld] Call for papers. The 13th Scandinavian Conference
of Information Systems, SCIS 2022
Date: Fri, 12 Nov 2021 13:35:04 +0000
From: Jacob Nørbjerg <jno.digi(a)cbs.dk>
To: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
Apologies for cross posting
Copenhagen Business School, Roskilde University and IT-University of
Copenhagen welcome you to the Thirteenth Scandinavian Conference on
Information Systems (SCIS 2022). SCIS 2022 will be held August 14-17,
2022, in conjunction with the 45th Information Systems Research Seminar
in Scandinavia (IRIS 2022) under the auspices of the IRIS Association
(https://communities.aisnet.org/scandinavia/home).
While most participants are from the Nordic countries, we welcome
researchers from all parts of the world to the conference, bringing
along and delivering other than the Nordic perspectives on IS into the
discussion.
Conference theme
Workforce Leadership in the Age of Digital Transformation
Digitalization is changing the world. Information systems (IS), software
applications and other technologies take central stage in this change.
They enable new working practices and processes, new services and
business models and prompts many opportunities and challenges (Newell et
al., 2020). Individuals, organizations, and societies respond to those
changes, with new and innovative ways of doing things (Vial, 2019;
Baskerville et al., 2020). In sum, several phenomena are being
reassessed in terms of how they are increasingly shaped by digital
technologies, i.e., become digital (Baskerville et al. 2020). When
seizing digital opportunities, leaders are increasingly required to
focus on their workforce in terms of well-being, flexibility, autonomy,
meaningful work, life-balance and flatter organizational structures
(Trenerry et al., 2020, Passmore et al., 2019). As we move toward
platform based eco-systems and a network based economy of gig-workers
using artificial intelligence to make decisions, 3-D printing and
robotics to manufacture products, and cloud based capabilities, how we
lead in the age of digital transformation and simultaneously address the
technical and social aspects of organizations becomes even more
important (Passmore et al., 2019). How to motivate, engage and take good
care of the workforce will take center stage in successful digital
transformation.
We believe that the IS-research community is well equipped to come up
with answers and insights in this - in nature - sociotechnical landscape
(Sarker et al., 2019; Clemmensen & Bjørn-Andersen, 2017). The theme of
the 13th Scandinavian Conference of Information Systems and 45th IRIS is
thus: Workforce Leadership in the Age of Digital Transformation.
We seek research that address the opportunities, challenges and
long-term implications. This could potentially cover how organizational
hierarchies are overturned and replaced with flatter and distributed
agile frameworks, or how absorptive capacity and self-management are
being implemented. It could also engage with how flexibility, innovative
capabilities and performance is improved or orchestrated and how
technostress, resistance and digital fatigue is approached.
SCIS/IRIS has a tradition of cross-disciplinarity, openness, and
inclusion. We therefore welcome a plurality of voices and themes that
engage with our theme and seek to construct new insights and
explanations. We solicit rigorous qualitative and/or quantitative
empirical studies as well as conceptual contributions that expand on or
call into question existing conceptions of leadership in digital
transformation. We also welcome submissions that engage with surfacing
the substantial new questions and challenges that digital transformation
entails. In line with the SCIS/IRIS tradition, we also welcome papers
that target general IS topics.

Subject: [AISWorld] Call for Papers - Special Issue on Software-Defined
Vehicular Networking
Date: Sat, 13 Nov 2021 02:16:14 +0000

Call for Papers - Future Internet
"Special Issue on Software-Defined Vehicular Networking"
Deadline: December 31, 2021
https://www.mdpi.com/journal/futureinternet/special_issues/SDVN
**********************************************************************************
Summary:
Over the past few years, considerable state-of-the-art advancements in
the telecommunications and automotive sectors have empowered drivers
with highly innovative communication and sensing capabilities, in turn
paving the way for the next generation of Intelligent Transportation
System (ITS) which is indispensable for an efficient deployment of
futuristic connected and autonomous vehicles. Nevertheless, the safety
of both vehicular passengers and vulnerable pedestrians in the context
of ITS is of paramount importance. In this aspect, sharing of timely
safety-critical information and a seamless connectivity with the traffic
management entities is extremely imperative not only for the purpose of
collision mitigation but also for necessary guidance pertinent to the
current and anticipated trajectories and their corresponding speeds for
ensuring an efficacious traffic flow. Therefore, a secure and low-latent
communication architecture is essential to satisfy the stringent
performance req
uirements of safety-critical vehicular applications.
Although conventional vehicular ad hoc networks can offer a diverse
range of safety and non-safety (infotainment) services, nevertheless,
they suffer from inherent shortcomings, including but not limited to,
lower bandwidths, higher end-to-end delays, and an unbalanced traffic
flow. Additionally, modern-day connected vehicles are being equipped
with hundreds of sensors onboard which has transformed vehicles into an
ambient sensing platform, i.e., data collection device, thereby paving
the way for the connected cars of the future. It is further anticipated
that an average connected vehicle would be able to generate more than 5
TB of data for each hour of its driving. Hence, (a) tackling such a
flood of data so that the meaningful information could be processed and
accordingly utilized for vehicular safety applications in an efficient
manner, (b) selecting appropriate radio access technologies so that the
said meaningful information could be transmitted with high data rates
and low end
-to-end delay, and (c) determining where to carry out all of this
processing (i.e., compute and storage) since if sent to the backhaul
would not only increase the network management overhead but would also
compromise the service level objectives of the safety-critical vehicular
applications, is extremely imperative.
To address the above-stated challenges, the notion of Software-Defined
Networking (SDN) is being extensively deployed for wireless networks,
and as of late, the same has been investigated for vehicular networks by
a number of researchers within academia and industry. This Special
Issue, accordingly, welcomes original contributions to bring forth the
state-of-the-art advancements in the subject landscape. Both
high-quality surveys and technical contributions are welcome for this
Special Issue.
Topics include but are not limited to:
Architectures for software-defined vehicular networks
Software-defined heterogeneous vehicular networks
Security aspects of software-defined vehicular networks
Dynamic controller placement strategies in software-defined vehicular
networks
Machine learning/deep learning strategies for software-defined vehicular
networks
Energy-efficient software-defined vehicular networks
Low latency in software-defined vehicular networks
Integration of SDN and vehicular cloud computing
Caching strategies in (5G-enabled) software-defined vehicular networks
Integration of SDN and ICN for vehicular networks
Crowd Collaborations for software-defined vehicular networks
Keywords:
Software-defined networks, Vehicular ad hoc networks, Internet of
vehicles, Network security, Resource and mobility management, Tactile
internet.

*** Final Call for the Main Track and Third Call for Other Contributions ***
9th European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing
(ESOCC 2022)
March 22-24, 2022, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany
https://www.esocc-conf.eu
Scope
Service-oriented and cloud computing have made a huge impact both on the
software
industry and on the research community. Today, service and cloud
technologies are
applied to build large-scale software landscapes as well as to provide
single software
services to end users. Services today are independently developed and
deployed as
well as freely composed while they can be implemented in a variety of
technologies, a
quite important fact from a business perspective. Similarly, cloud
computing aims at enabling flexibility by offering a centralised sharing
of resources. The industry's need
for agile and flexible software and IT systems has made cloud computing
the dominating paradigm for provisioning computational resources in a
scalable, on-
demand fashion. Nevertheless, service developers, providers, and
integrators still need to create methods, tools and techniques to
support cost-effective and secure development as well as use of
dependable devices, platforms, services and service-
oriented applications in the cloud.
The European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing (ESOCC)
is the premier conference on advances in the state of the art and
practice of service-
oriented computing and cloud computing in Europe. The main objectives of
