KR2020 will be organized as a "hybrid" conference, and welcomes all
researchers interested in KR to participate either physically or
virtually!
Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KR) is a well-established and
lively field of research. In KR, a fundamental assumption is that an
agent's knowledge is explicitly represented in a declarative form,
suitable for processing by dedicated reasoning engines. This assumption,
that much of what an agent deals with is knowledge-based, is common in
many modern intelligent systems. Consequently, KR has contributed to
the theory and practice of various areas in AI, including automated
planning and natural language understanding, and to fields beyond AI,
including databases, verification, software engineering, and robotics.
In recent years, KR has contributed also to new and emerging fields,
including the semantic web, computational biology, cyber security, and
the development of software agents.
The KR conference series is the leading forum for timely in-depth
presentation of progress in the theory and principles underlying the
representation and computational management of knowledge.

Apologies for cross-posting
Dear all,
Due to current circumstances, the SEMANTiCS Onsite Conference 2020 had,
unfortunately, to be postponed till September 2021. To bridge the gap
until 2021, DBpedia, the Platform Linked Data Netherlands (PLDN) and
EuroSDR will organize a SEMANTiCS satellite event online, on October 6,
2020. We set up an exciting themed program around ‘Knowledge Graphs in
Action: DBpedia, Linked Geodata and Geo-information Integration’. This
new event is a combination of two already existing ones: the DBpedia
Community Meeting, which is regularly held as part of the SEMANTiCS, and
the annual Spatial Linked Data conference organised by EuroSDR and PLDN.
We fused both together and as a bonus, we added a track about
Geo-information Integration hosted by EuroSDR. For the joint opening
session, we recruited four amazing keynote speakers to kick the event off.

Call for Papers: WI 2021 - Track "Future of Digital Markets and Platforms"
https://wi2021.de/en/future-of-digital-markets-and-platforms-en/
16th International Conference on Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI 2021), March
9-11, 2021, University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany (http://www.wi2021.de/en)
Extended submission deadline: August, 28, 2020, withjournal fast-track
option to Electronic Markets (http://www.electronicmarkets.org)
Track Description
=================
Digital markets and digital platform ecosystems have gained in
importance in recent years. Today, the majority of the ten most valuable
companies worldwide pursue a business model in this area Similarly, many
established supply chain models are evolving into multi-sided platform
models that are changing the competitive dynamics in many industries.
Through technological dynamics, concepts and systems are constantly
evolving. Increasingly, we are seeing decentralized marketplaces and
platforms that are fully digitalized and replacing traditional
intermediaries and existing value-added structures. This concerns not
only systems in the consumer-oriented area such as AppStores and social
media platforms, but also systems in the inter-company area such as IoT
platforms or industry ecosystems. In this sense, the banking industry,
for example, is currently discussing the concepts of open banking and
platform banking in detail. In addition, an increasingly intense
competition between platform providers on the one hand and a combination
of different platforms on the other may be observed. At the same time,
the concentration on American or Asian platforms leads to dependencies,
the consequences of which have in part become apparent in the recent
Covid 19 crisis. The conference track focuses on new developments and
novel questions in the field of digital markets and platforms. The aim
is to address economic, technical and social issues. It is planned that
authors will have the opportunity to further develop their contribution
in a special issue of the Electronic Markets journal.
Topics
======
The track emphasizes the following themes, but is also open to
additional topics:
- Introduction and scaling of digital markets and platforms
- Design and architecture of digital markets and platforms
- Decentralized or peer-to-peer markets and platforms
- Digital transformation of digital markets and platforms
- Value creation models of digital markets and platforms
- Economic analyses in and of digital markets and platforms
- Externalities and benefit asymmetries of digital markets and platforms
- Competition between digital markets and platforms
- Implications of cartel and regulatory issues for digital marketplaces
and platforms
- Integration of services in electronic markets and platforms (e.g.
using DLT and blockchain technologies)
- Process automation and IoT integration in electronic markets and platforms
- Development of innovative matching or analysis methods for digital
markets and platforms
- Case studies on horizontally and vertically integrated marketplaces or
platforms
- Organisation and governance of digital market places and platforms
- Transformation from product providers to platform providers
- Competition between platform providers and product suppliers and
platform sovereignty
- Taxonomies and typologies of digital markets and platforms
- Crowdsensing, -sourcing, -working and participation platforms
- Data usage and transparency in digital platforms
- Decision behavior of platform users
- User experience on platforms
- Virtual and augmented reality in platforms
- Experimental research in laboratory and field for platforms

Call for Papers: WI 2021 - Track "Future of Digital Markets and Platforms"
https://wi2021.de/future-of-digital-markets-and-platforms-de/
16. Internationale Tagung Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI 2021),
09.-11.03.2021, Universität Duisburg-Essen (http://www.wi2021.de)
Verlängerte Einreichungsfrist: 28.08.2020, mit Fast-Track-Option zur
Zeitschrift Electronic Markets (http://www.electronicmarkets.org)
Trackbeschreibung
=================
Digitale Märkte und digitale Plattformökosysteme haben in den
vergangenen Jahren an Bedeutung gewonnen. Heute verfolgt die Mehrheit
der zehn weltweit wertvollsten Unternehmen ein Geschäftsmodell in diesem
Bereich. Ebenso entwickeln sich zahlreiche etablierte
Supply-Chain-Modelle zu mehrseitigen Plattform-Modellen, die die
Wettbewerbsdynamik in vielen Branchen verändern.

Subject: [WI] [Deadline Approaching] 2nd FashionXRecsys Workshop -
RecSys Conference - 26th September
Date: Sun, 26 Jul 2020 08:56:36 +0000
From: Shatha Jaradat <shatha(a)kth.se>

*FashionXRecsys* - Workshop on Recommender Systems in Fashion
*In conjunction with ACM RecSys 2020 (26th September 2020)*
https://fashionxrecsys.github.io/fashionxrecsys-2020/
***Important Note*** Due to concerns about COVID-19, RecSys 2020 will
cancel its physical component and go fully virtual.
We are pleased to invite you to participate in the 2nd workshop on
Recommender Systems in Fashion (FashionXRecsys) that will be held on
September 26th, 2020.
Online Fashion retailers have significantly increased in popularity over
the last decade, making it possible for customers to explore hundreds of
thousands of products without the need to visit multiple stores or stand
in long queues for checkout. However, the customers still face several
hurdles with current online shopping solutions. For example, customers
often feel overwhelmed with the large selection of the assortment and
brands. In addition, there is still a lack of effective suggestions
capable of satisfying customers’ style preferences, or size and fit
needs, necessary to enable them in their decision-making process. In
this context, recommender systems are very well positioned to play a
crucial role in creating a great customer experience in fashion.
Moreover, in recent years social shopping in fashion has surfaced,
thanks to platforms such as Instagram, providing a very interesting
opportunity that allows to explore fashion in radically new ways. Such
recent developments provide exciting challenges for the Recommender
Systems and Machine Learning research communities.
This workshop aims to bring together researchers and practitioners in
the fashion, recommendations and machine learning domains to discuss
open problems in the aforementioned areas. This involves addressing
interdisciplinary problems with all of the challenges it entails. Within
this workshop we aim to start the conversation among professionals in
the fashion and e-commerce industries and recommender systems
scientists, and create a new space for collaboration between these
communities necessary for tackling these deep problems. To provide rich
opportunities to share opinions and experience in such an emerging
field, we will accept paper submissions on established and novel ideas,
as well as new interactive participation formats.
*Suggested topics for submissions are (but not limited to):*
* Computer vision in Fashion (image classification, semantic
segmentation, object detection)
* Deep learning in recommendation systems for Fashion
* Learning and application of fashion style (personalized style,
implicit and explicit preferences, budget, social behaviour, etc)
* Size and Fit recommendations through mining customers implicit and
explicit size and fit preferences
* Modelling articles and brands size and fit similarity
* Usage of ontologies and article metadata in fashion and retail (NLP,
social mining, search)
* Addressing cold-start problem both for items and users in fashion
recommendation
* Knowledge transfer in multi-domain fashion recommendation systems
* Hybrid recommendations on customers’ history and on-line behavior
* Multi- or Cross- domain recommendations (social media and online shops)
* Privacy preserving techniques for customer’s preferences tracing
* Understanding social and psychological factors and impacts of
influence on users’ fashion choices (such as Instagram, influencers, etc.)
In order to encourage the reproducibility of research work presented in
the workshop, we put together a list of open datasets in the
fashionXrecsys website
<https://fashionxrecsys.github.io/fashionxrecsys-2020/#datasets>. All
submissions that present their work using at least one of the listed
datasets will be considered for the best paper, best student paper and
best demo awards, which will be given by workshop sponsors.
*Important Dates *
** Paper Submission deadline:* July 29th, 2020
** Author notification:* August 21st, 2020
** Camera-ready version deadline: *September 4th,2020
All deadlines refer to 23:59 (11:59pm) in the AoE (Anywhere on Earth)
time zone.
*Paper Submission Instructions *
* All submissions and reviews will be handled electronically via
EasyChair at the following address:
https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fashionxrecsys2020

submissions must not include information identifying the authors or
their organisation. Specifically, do not include the authors’ names and
affiliations, anonymise citations to your previous work and avoid
providing any other information that would allow to identify the
authors, such as acknowledgments and funding. However, it is acceptable
to explicitly refer in the paper to the companies or organizations that
provided datasets, hosted experiments or deployed solutions, if
specifically necessary for understanding the work described in the paper.
* Submitted work should be original. However, technical reports or ArXiv
disclosure prior to or simultaneous with the workshop submission, is
allowed, provided they are not peer-reviewed.
* The organizers also encourage authors to make their code and datasets
publicly available.

TRACK DESCRIPTION
(Good) Usability has long been established as a key criteria in human
centered approaches to IT systems design. Usability is typically
investigated during the design and/or evaluation phases of new IT
systems that are either built in-house or sourced from third parties.
Usability thinking is more broadly applicable to almost any aspect of
contemporary organisations since, in the words of usability guru
Nielsen, usability isn't about technology but about human behavior
which changes very slowly, if at all.
This track seeks contributions that explore usability, usability
thinking, and human centered design in the context of contemporary
organisations. The emphasis is on IS perspectives and experiences in
the sense that technologies are looked at as situated in an
organisational context (understood very broadly and inclusively).
TOPICS OF INTEREST (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)
Human centered design in organisational contexts (eg, health portals,
aged care support, security/privacy, emotion recognition,
personalisation)
Benefits and barriers to embracing usability thinking in organisations
Usability thinking and systems adoption/diffusion frameworks
Usability as a socio-technical concept/construct (including HCI)
Usability and IS project risk management
Designing for minorities and under-represented groups
Universal accessibility

(JGITM), Volume 23, Issue 3, July, 2020 & Impact Factor

Dear friends:
Let me start with some good news. The 2019 JGITM impact factor went up
substantially and is at 1.571 (the 2018 impact factor was 0.923). The five
year impact factor went up too and is at 1.609. I believe we have the
highest impact factor among all global/international IS journals. I want to
thank our editorial team and the authors for our success.
While our acceptance rate is below 10%, it is much higher for high quality
papers and such submissions are always welcome. At a minimum each submitted
article should have the following three components: an IS topic,
international orientation (e.g., cross cultural studies or strong
international implications), and strong evidence (e.g., survey data, case
studies, experiments, secondary data, etc.). All research methodologies are
accepted.
Please submit your manuscript to the submission site:
http://www.editorialmanager.com/ugit
JGITM is published by Taylor & Francis Group (T&F). We have a modern
submission and review system, web site, as well as full marketing support.
Each suitable article is blind-reviewed by three members of the editorial
review board. It then goes to an Associate Editor for a recommendation. The
final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief. If a revision is
recommended, the revised paper is sent for final approval to one of the
Editors.
