Call for Papers
The 21st IEEE International Conference on Information Integration and Reuse
(IRI'2020)
Las Vegas, USA, Aug. 11-13, 2020
https://homepages.uc.edu/~niunn/IRI20/call_papers.html
<https://homepages.uc.edu/~niunn/IRI20/call_papers.html>
Confirmed Keynote Speakers (so far): Dr. Elisa Bertino (Purdue University)
Journal Special Issues will be organized to include the top papers accepted
into IRI’2020.
This conference presents excellent, novel, and contemporary papers covering
all aspects of Data – including Scientific Theory and Technology-Based
Applications. New data analytic algorithms, technologies, and tools are
sought for data management in the face of hardware, software, and/or
bandwidth constraints; to construct models yielding important data
insights; and, to create visualizations to aid in presenting and
understanding the data. System development and integration need to adapt to
these new algorithms, technologies, tools, and needs. This conference and
its constituents support the development of science and technology to
improve the human condition.
Furthermore, IRI addresses the representation, cleansing, generalization,
validation, and reasoning strategies for the scientifically sound and the
cost-effective advancement of all systems and systems of systems (SoS) –
including all software and hardware aspects. These non-trivial tasks lead
to challenging research problems – for example, how to optimally select the
information/data sets for reuse and how to optimize the integration of
existing information/knowledge with new, developing information/knowledge
sources!
The IEEE IRI conference serves as a forum for researchers and practitioners
from academia, industry, and government to present, discuss, and exchange
ideas that address real-world problems with real-world solutions.
Theoretical and applied papers are both welcome. The conference program
will include several plenary speeches from academia, industry, and
government; special sessions, open forum workshops, and panels.
The conference includes, but is certainly not limited to, the areas listed

The Advanced Course is not a summer school suited only for younger
scholars. Rather, a significant proportion of seasoned investigators are
regularly present among the attendees, often senior faculty at their own
institutions. The balanced audience that we strive to maintain in each
Advanced Course greatly contributes to the development of intense
cross-disciplinary debates among faculty and participants that typically
address the most advanced and emerging areas of each topic.
Each faculty member presents lectures and discusses with the participants
for one entire day. Such long interaction together with the small,
exclusive Course size provides the uncommon opportunity to fully explore
the expertise of each faculty, often through one-to-one mentoring. This is
unparalleled and priceless.
The Certosa di Pontignano provides the perfect setting to a relaxed yet
intense learning atmosphere, with the stunning backdrop of the Tuscan
landscapes. World-class wines and traditional foods will make the Advanced
Course on Data Science and Machine Learning the experience of a lifetime.
8 ECTS POINTS:
Participants will be delivered a certificate of attendance indicating the
number of hours of lectures (36-40 hours of lectures). In according to the
academic system all PhD and master students attending to the summer school
will may get 8 ECTS points.
A formal certificate of successful participation in the event will be
delivered indicating the number of hours of lectures.

Subject: [WI] CALL FOR PAPERS - extended deadline 1st International
Workshop on Next Generation Information Systems: Modeling, Monitoring
and Management in Cloud and Fog Computing (NeGIS 2020)
Date: Mon, 24 Feb 2020 12:59:22 +0100
From: Monica Vitali <vitali(a)cs.umu.se>
Reply-To: Monica Vitali <vitali(a)cs.umu.se>
CALL FOR PAPERS - extended deadline 3/3/2020
==========================================================
1st International Workshop on Next Generation Information Systems:
Modeling, Monitoring and Management in Cloud and Fog Computing (NeGIS 2020)
Co-located with CAiSE'20
June 9th 2020 Grenoble, France
==========================================================
SCOPE
======
The amount of data and services supported by Information Systems (ISs)
has increased exponentially during the last few years. To improve their
efficiency and reduce costs, modern organizations have been shifting
their services, with part of their ISs, to the Cloud. More recent
developments have shown an inversion towards the decentralisation and
distribution of applications and services in the huge pool of devices
and computing facilities available nearer to the customers. This shift
is due to the impact of the Internet of Things, which is further
increasing the amount of data to be stored and computed. Fog Computing
is the last frontier for ISs, where data and services can be moved in
the continuum of resources between the cloud and the edge.
In this workshop, we aim to collect contributions investigating issues
related to the management of cloud and fog computing in modern
information systems with a focus, but not limited, on energy efficiency,
security, and privacy, their relations and the trade-off with other
requirements such as response time and throughput. In doing so, we are
considering both the application components of the information system
with their complexity, as well as the management of the data used by
such applications. We also consider the impact of the human in the loop,
looking at how the awareness and the behaviours of users and designers
in socio-technical systems can affect the effective adoption of energy
and security policies.
Topics include but are not limited to:
- Modelling Cloud and Fog computing solutions for modern Information
Systems
- Monitoring and Managing Information Systems in Cloud and Fog Computing
- Models, methods, and tools for data management in Cloud and Fog Computing
- Energy-awareness and sustainability in Information Systems: metrics
and measurements
- Quality of Service, energy efficiency and security in Mobile Edge
Computing
- Methodologies and tools for energy efficiency and security compliance
in Cloud and Fog computing
- Adaptive approaches to manage energy consumption, QoS, and security of
applications and systems
- Energy and Security aware blockchain solutions
- Energy and security requirements in Information Systems and
Socio-Technical Systems
Energy and security behaviours in Socio-Technical Systems
Negis2020 will be co-located in Grenoble with the 32nd International
Conference on Advanced Information Systems (CAISE'20, 8-12 June 2020).
BEST PAPER AWARD
=================
The best paper will be considered for publication in a high-level
international journal. To be selected the paper must include a
validation of the proposed approach. The authors of the paper selected
as the best paper will have to provide an extended version for
submission to a fast evaluation track.
KEY DATES
=========

https://amcis2020.aisconferences.org/submissions/call-for-papers/
We kindly invite you to submit your papers to the SCUIT mini-track:
IT-Enabled Information Management Capability (IMC)
Track Description: With the increasing success of strategic and
competitive information systems in generating business value and gaining
competitive advantage, businesses are more and more interested in the
successful design, development, deployment, and use of these systems.
Submissions to the Strategic and Competitive Use of Information
Technology (SCUIT) track may include complete papers and research-in-
progress (ERF), and can be conceptual, theoretical, design, empirical,
or case studies. Any research that focuses on the strategic and
competitive use of IT/IS will find a home in this track.
Mini-track Description: While IT is a relevant factor in firm success,
firms' ability to synthesize information and knowledge is becoming of
greater salience in shaping firm performance and innovation. In the
present era of breakthroughs in communication, cognitive, and computing
capabilities of IT systems, firms must explore avenues for gaining
strategic advantage through improved information management. IT-enabled
Information Management Capability (IMC) enables firms to respond to
rapidly changing market needs, provides resourceful information for
better decision making, facilitates flexibility to fulfill more
customers' needs without incurring extra cost, and provides a
technological platform for expanding the business. The strategic use of
information has already enabled firms such as Amazon, Alibaba, and
Facebook to implement new business models, which have deeply impacted
the structures of their industries. However, the abundance of data,
privacy regulations, and security threa
ts are now compelling firms to rethink how to best utilize IMC.
Call for Papers: This mini-track solicits research manuscripts that
examine the link between IT-enabled capabilities, firm performance,
innovation, and sustainability. Articles investigating the ethical and
regulatory considerations in the utilization of modern IT capabilities
are also sought. Studies at the firm, individual, team, or industry
levels are welcomed. Studies submitted to this track should explore how
modern IT-enabled capabilities influence firm performance, innovation,
and can provide a new perspective of the underlying mechanisms through
which these capabilities enhance firm performance and innovation. Policy
considerations in the deployment of modern IT capabilities and their
impact on firm's performance could also be highlighted.

CFP Mini-Track: Information Security Risks to Research
AMCIS 2020
Salt Lake City, Utah, August 12-16 2020
https://amcis2020.aisconferences.org
We kindly invite you to submit your manuscript to the AMCIS 2020 mini-track
Information Security Risks to Research. The mini-track is under the
Information Security and Privacy (SIGSEC) track.
Mini-track Description
Academic researchers around the world are increasingly becoming targets for
information security threat actors, including state-sponsored espionage
targeting research programs. These threats have been demonstrated to be
highly persistent and targeted. Enterprise IT and information security at
many universities are focused on protecting core functions of the
university and may not be focused on tailored protection for specific
research groups.
This mini-track invites the authors to submit papers that address relevant
issues and concerns related to the intersection of academic research and
information security threats.
Topic areas may focus on, but are not limited to:
• What are the most serious cybersecurity issues currently encountered by
universities and what can be done about these issues? What are the best
practices to recognize, protect, detect and respond to threats to academic
research?
• The dimensions of research that expose researchers to increased
information security threats, e.g. intellectual property development,
research topicality, national origin, funding source, and collaboration
networks.
• The nature of the threat actors targeting academic researchers; e.g.
nation state advanced persistent threat (APT) actors, criminal actors,
economically driven corporate espionage and political threat actors.
• Fit and misfit between the threat posed to researchers and the protection
provided by enterprise IT and information security at universities,
including:
Usable security in academia
Access control and authorization
Cyber security awareness training
Organizational and institutional network structures
• Balancing an open culture of academic research vs. protecting valuable
intellectual property.

We kindly invite you to submit your papers to the minitrack #4:
Strategic and Competitive Behavior on Digital Platforms
Track: Strategic and Competitive Uses of IT
************************
Digital platforms provide a stage for individuals to engage with each
other and exchange a variety of goods and services. Intra-platform
competition may arise, as there is a rivalry for limited resources on
these platforms. For instance, individuals on social media compete for
attention, entrepreneurs on crowdfunding platforms for investments, and
sellers on online marketplaces for customers. To attract those limited
resources individuals may engage in strategic behavior. Complementor
strategies could include the strategic positioning of offerings (e.g.,
pricing strategies) or opportunistic behaviors towards competitors.
Platform providers may use platform governance mechanisms to allow for
increasing levels of competition with the objective of expanding the
size and variety of its offered goods and services.
This mini-track is open to any kind of submissions both conceptual and
empirical papers that employ a variety of quantitative and qualitative
methodologies.
Possible topics include but are not limited to:
- Strategic and competitive behaviors of individuals for example on…
* …sharing economy platforms
* …crowdfunding platforms
* …gaming platforms
* …social media
- Inter-individualistic differences in strategic behavior of individuals
on platforms
- Factors such as platform governance that may influence intra-platform
competition and individualistic strategic behavior
- Opportunistic behaviors used to try to “game” the system
- Adjustment of behaviors after disruptive events on platforms
************************
Important dates:
* January 06, 2020: System opens for general paper submissions
* February 28, 2020: Deadline for paper submissions. PCS closes for
authors at 5:00 p.m. MST
* April 13, 2020: Notification of initial decision on submitted papers
* April 22, 2020: Deadline for camera-ready revisions
