High quality papers will be considered for fast track publication in the
2020 issue of the Information Systems Management journal.
The development of the Internet, social media, distributed databases,
and a variety of mobile devices has caused a huge increase in data. Much
of this diverse data in unstructured and structured forms has a high
business value and, if properly utilized, can become an important
organizational asset. It contains various information about customers,
competition, labor market, and development trends for industries,
products and services, as well as the public and political mood. For
innovative and sustainable development, it is essential for
organizations to utilize this data to increase sales, identify future
opportunities and new markets, outperform the competition, enhance
products and services, recruit talent, improve operations, perform
forecasting, protect the brand, and identify areas for improvement to
name a few. However, many organizations make a limited use of this
valuable data available to them either because they lack necessary tools
or do not understand the value of this d
ata.
The main objective of this minitrack is to provide organizations a
theoretical, conceptual, and applied grounded discussion of Business
Intelligence and Big Data (BI & BD) to aid in innovative and sustainable
development as well as effective decision-making. This minitrack
addresses the following questions:
* What is the substance (nature) of BI & BD?
* What is the added-value of BI & BD to development of organizations and
their decision-making process?
* How to support organizational creativity, innovation and
decision-making using BI & BD?
* How to design intelligent information systems and build decision
support systems based on BI & BD?
* How to use BI & BD tools and solutions to achieve innovative and
sustainable development of organizations?
This minitrack invites papers focused on, but not limited to:
* Theoretical foundations for BI & BD development
* BI & BD to improve innovative and sustainable development of
organizations;
* Challenges and opportunities of applying BI & BD for innovative and
sustainable development of organizations
* Development of BI & BD analytics capability
* BI & BD driven strategies
* BI & BD-enabled business transformation
* Business value of BI & BD
* BI & BD engineering for business model innovation
* Practical approaches, solutions, methods, and tools to foster
innovative and sustainable development of organizations by using of BI & BD

Interaction with games is considered to have positive effects on our
cognitive, emotional, social abilities and motivation (5, 9, 10, 13, 15, 22,
30). It isn’t surprising, then that our reality and lives are increasingly
becoming game-like (6). This is not limited to the fact that digital games
have become a pervasive part of our lives, but perhaps most prominently with
the fact that activities, systems and services that are not traditionally
perceived as game-like are becoming either intentionally or unintentionally
gameful (4, 6, 10, 13, 14).
Intentional gamification refers to a “process of transforming any activity,
system, service, product or organizational structure into one which affords
positive experiences, skills and practices similar to those afforded by
games, and is often referred to as the gameful experience. This is commonly
but optionally done with an intention to facilitate changes in behaviours or
cognitive processes. As the main inspirations of gamification are games and
play, gamification is commonly pursued by employing game design” (6).
Gamification has become an umbrella concept that, to varying degrees,
includes and encompasses other related technological developments such as
serious games (3), game-based learning (12, 24), exergames & quantified-self
(8, 9, 21), games with a purpose/human-based computation games (17, 28), and
persuasive technology (20).
Secondly, gamification also manifests in a gradual, albeit unintentional,
cultural, organizational and societal transformation stemming from the
increased pervasive engagement with games, gameful interactions (6), game
communities and player practices. For example, recently we have witnessed
the popular emergence of augmented reality games (16; 17) and virtual
reality technologies (2, 29) that enable a more seamless integration of
games into our physical reality. Case in point are urban spaces that are
increasingly becoming playgrounds for different games and -play activities.
While location-based games such as Pokémon Go (1) were able to attract
millions of players, concepts such as Playable Cities (19) and Urban
Gamification (26) highlight the large scale changes that games are bringing
about in the smart cities of the future. Moreover, the media ecosystem has
also experienced a degree of ludic transformation: with user generated
content becoming an important competitor for large media corporations. This
transformation has led to the development of several emerging phenomena such
as the Youtube and modding cultures (23, 27) and esports (7, 25), that have
penetrated the cultural membrane allowing games to seep into domains
hitherto dominated by traditional media.

Subject: [AISWorld] Call for Papers: RecTour 2019 - Workshop on
Recommenders in Tourism at ACM RecSys 2019
Date: Tue, 7 May 2019 16:04:04 +0200
From: Catalin-Mihai Barbu <catalin.barbu(a)uni-due.de>
To: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org
Workshop on Recommenders in Tourism
held in conjunction with ACM RecSys 2019
in Copenhagen, Denmark
*Deadline: July 1st, 2019*
http://www.ec.tuwien.ac.at/rectour2019/
CALL FOR PAPERS:
The rapid development of information and communication technologies
(ICT) and the web transformed the tourism domain. Today, travelers no
longer rely on travel agents and agencies. Indeed, recent studies
indicate that they are now active in searching for information and
composing their vacation packages according to their specific
preferences. When onsite, they search for freely available information
about the site itself rather than buying/renting a visitor guide or
hiring a tour guide that may be available. However, like in many other
cases, the blessing of the Web comes with a curse -- the curse of
information overload.
Recommender systems are a practical tool for overcoming this information
overload. However, the tourism domain is substantially more complicated,
and as such, creates huge challenges for those designing tourism-focused
recommender systems. Planning a vacation usually involves searching for
a set of products that are interconnected (e.g., means of
transportation, lodging, attractions), with a rather limited
availability, and where contextual aspects may have a major impact
(e.g., time, location, social context, environmental context). In
addition, products are emotionally "loaded" and considered "experience
goods"; therefore, decision making is not only based on rational and
objective criteria. As such, providing the right information to visitors
of a tourism site at the right time about the site itself and various
services nearby is challenging.
RecTour 2019 will therefore focus on the specific challenges for
recommender systems in tourism and will bring together researchers and
practitioners from different fields, such as tourism, recommender
systems, user modelling, user interaction, mobile, ubiquitous and
ambient technologies, artificial intelligence and web information
systems, to discuss and illustrate challenges and applications of these
technologies in tourism recommender systems of the future. Important
aspects and topics to be discussed revolve around (but are not limited to):
- Specific applications and case studies (evaluation);
- Specific methods and techniques for tourism recommenders;
- Novel ICT and their impact on travel and tourism;
- Data integration from various sources (e.g., catalogues, Linked Open
Data, usage logs);
- Context and mobility in tourism;
- Tourist trip recommendation and route planning;
- Cold-start problem in the context of tourism recommenders;
- Preference elicitation in tourism;
- Emotions and tourism recommenders;
- Personalized interaction and conversation strategies.
IMPORTANT DATES:
Submission deadline: July 1st, 2019
Notification: July 29th, 2019
Camera-ready deadline: August 18th, 2019
Deadlines refer to 11:59pm (Anywhere on Earth).
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Long research papers reporting on complete research (8 pages plus up to
one page references); Short papers reporting on work in progress (4
pages plus up to one page references); Position papers reflecting on
emerging topics (2-4 pages); Demonstration papers showcasing novel
aspects or providing the opportunity to interact (2 pages) as well as
project ideas discussing innovative research proposals and late breaking
ideas (2-4 pages). Moreover, we specifically invite industry to submit
relevant showcases as position or demo papers to the workshop.
RecTour 2019 submissions should be prepared in PDF format according to
the standard double-column ACM SIG proceedings format. The peer review
process is single-blind, handled electronically through EasyChair:

== CALL FOR PAPERS ==
WORKSHOP on Process Management in Digital Production
http://www.wst.univie.ac.at/dipro/
in conjunction with the 17th Business Process Management Conference (BPM
2019)
September 1 - 6, 2019, Vienna, Austria
The goal of PM-DiPro is to establish a forum for researchers and
professionals interested in understanding, envisioning and discussing
the challenges and opportunities of utilizing Process Management Systems
and Data Analytics in industrial settings. Currently on shop-floors data
is mostly collected and stored from focusing on individual machines. The
increasing digitization of industrial processes also across
organizations sometimes labeled industry 4.0 or smart manufacturing,
however, requires a more holistic and connected perspective. The
introduction of process management technology to orchestrate business
processes from ERPs all the way down to machine control seems an
appropriate answer and produces much more interconnected data.
Subsequently this opens up the potential for gaining much deeper insight
into industrial processes through data analytics than ever before.
Insights from data analytics can be used to improve business process at
design time but also to improve the execution of business processes
during run time.
This interdisciplinary workshop is for experts in the field of
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Data
Science, Computer Science, Information Systems and Business Process
Management.
The workshop aims at discussing the current state of ongoing research
and sharing practical experiences, exchanging ideas and setting up
future research directions. We aim to bring together practitioners and
researchers from different communities such as business process
management, automation engineering, mechanical engineering, process
mining, and data mining who share an interest in data analytics,
process-aware information systems, and the shop-floor.
== TOPICS OF INTEREST ==
* BPMN and the shop-floor
* Production process meta-data annotation
* Visualization of large scale production networks
* Mining of machining data
* Temporal analysis of production data
* Statistical analysis of production life-cycles
* Predictive analytics
* Root cause analysis for production errors
* Vizualization of production processes and errors
* Machine-learning and production processes
We also welcome case studies and application papers, covering:
* Scheduling and planing
* Process evolution / re-engineering
* Ad-hoc changes to improve production process performance
* Measuring production process quality
* Production process discovery
* Monitoring of production processes
