This will help improve the effectiveness of using IS/IT in manufacturing and service industries and non-profit organisations around the world. IJIIM aims to establish an effective channel of communication between academic researchers, educators, designers, managers, consultants and policy makers to contribute, disseminate and learn knowledge about intercultural information management. The intercultural dimension is emphasised in our efforts in disseminating knowledge to overcome cultural and national barriers, and to keep up with accelerating technological changes. IJIIM acts as a forum for exchanging innovative ideas and sharing research and practical experiences in intercultural information management. *Readership* IJIIM provides a forum to help academics, practitioners and policy makers working in the field of IS/IT to discuss important ideas and findings and to disseminate knowledge and learn from each other. Readers will have the opportunity to discover future directions to improve the effectiveness of IS/IT in international and intercultural contexts. *Contents* IJIIM publishes original papers, review papers, technical reports, case studies, conference reports, management reports, state-of-the-art reviews, and technical notes. Special Issues devoted to important topics in intercultural information management will occasionally be published. *Submission* All submissions will go through a double-blind review process. There are no charges for publishing, unless you require your article to be Open Access. The OCIS Division of the Academy of Management is pleased to announce the 2019 Doctoral Consortium (DC) on Friday, August 9, 2019 in Boston MA. The DC is an opportunity for doctoral students to network, receive feedback on their research, and discuss career issues. All interested PhD students working on research in the areas of Organizational Communication, Information Science, or Information Systems are invited to apply. Faculty advisors include: - Abayomi Baiyere, Copenhagen Business School - Nosh Contractor, Northwestern University - Marco Marabelli, Bentley University - Christoph Riedl, Northeastern University - Maha Shaikh, King’s College London - Molly Wasko, University of Alabama at Birmingham - Susan Winter, University of Maryland - Jeanne Wilson, College of William and Mary - Kathy Chudoba, Utah State University (faculty mentor and DC Chair/organizer) Travel support is available for some students admitted to the DC. Acceptance is based on a review of the application materials. We would like to enroll your help in distributing this information to current and incoming PhD students in your program. This offering seeks to help Information Systems doctoral students who are about to start their PhD or who are in the first and second years of their doctoral studies (i.e., prior to comprehensive exams and advancement to candidacy at the time of application to the Doctoral Consortium) to become introduced to the professoriate and to manage the path toward a sound research publication pipeline and a dissertation that will make a material contribution to the body of knowledge. The consortium has three primary objectives: 1. Provide networking opportunities for students with peers and faculty 2. Help students strategize about and focus on their research, teaching and career plans 3. Prepare students for the dissertation process and advancement to candidacy. The program includes a keynote speaker, Dr. Vallabh Sambamurthy, panels with distinguished faculty, and breakout sessions to discuss research and issues relevant to the early stages of a doctoral program, such as focusing on developing a solid research pipeline, preparing for the comprehensive exam, and transitioning to the dissertation process. In breakout sessions after each panel, small groups of students will discuss the panel topic as it relates to their research aspirations with their faculty mentors and fellow students. The intent is for students to apply the panel topic to their personal research and doctoral program goals, with input from faculty mentors and peers. Students wishing to participate in the Early Students Doctoral Consortium program at AMCIS 2019 should: 1. Be formally admitted to an Information Systems (or related discipline) doctoral program; please note that this Doctoral Consortium is open to prospective (incoming) doctoral students who are starting their program in 2019. 2. Have yet to sit for and successfully complete a formal comprehensive examination and have yet to be advanced to candidacy and matriculating at the dissertation stage of a doctoral program as of the application deadline (June 14th, 2019).
