The nature and scope of the Information Security field have evolved over
the past several years. No longer are we just concerned with protecting the
technical edifice. Our emphasis has become more holistic and we tend to
consider all aspects of information protection as central to the field of
security. The Annual Security Conference provides a forum for discourses
in Security, Assurance, and Privacy that will define the moment and provide
a useful basis for nurturing further dialogues.
Contributions in the form of research papers, panel proposals, and case
studies are invited. All submissions are peer-reviewed and considered for
publication in the Journal of Information System Security (

Call for Papers: Data-Driven Knowledge Management –(DDKM 2019) within
the 10^th Conference on Professional Knowledge Management:
Workshop Website:
http://wm2019.fh-potsdam.de/workshops/data-driven-knowledge-management.html
Conference: http://wm2019.fh-potsdam.de/index-en.html
====================
Scope
====================
Data-driven technologies are changing and shaping organizational
processes, supply chains and business models. This also affects the way
how knowledge can be is managed at the individual, organizational and
inter-organizational level.
Data-driven technologies offer new opportunities to explicate
information and knowledge from organization members, provide
personalized decision support, provide learning material during the
execution of business processes, or find suitable partners for joint
knowledge creation and knowledge sharing. Data-driven technologies also
entail the risk of increased knowledge leakage or other
knowledge-related risks, which could implicate that an organization
loses its competitive edge. Hence, both knowledge protection and an
improved (knowledge) risk management become crucial activities of an
integrated knowledge management in connected supply chains that are
characterized by massive data exchange and collaboration among diverse
market actors.
The scope of this workshop is to discuss how data-driven technologies
impact the way how organizations manage knowledge to develop and
maintain competitive advantage, to develop new knowledge-based business
models or to renew existing business models. Additionally, methods and
approaches to address the above-mentioned risks shall be discussed.
====================
Topics of Interest
====================
Submissions from all areas contributing to the development and
application of Data-Driven Knowledge Management are welcome. We
explicitly encourage paper submissions from all kinds of disciplines
such as computer science, social sciences, mathematics, management and
economics in order to obtain an interdisciplinary view on the subject.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
* Data-driven knowledge management for improved decision making
* Application of data-driven knowledge management in industry
* Knowledge codification supported by data analytics
* Data-driven technology-enhanced learning and unlearning
* Knowledge-based business models
* Knowledge protection in connected supply chains
* Knowledge risk management in data-driven environments
* New (alternative) governance mechanisms for data-driven knowledge
management
====================
Submission Guideline
====================
All papers are to be submitted via the EasyChair system:
https://easychair.org/cfp/DDKM2019
Papers should be preferably in English and must be in the LNI format
(for templates see http://wm2019.fh-potsdam.de/index-en.html#workshops
(http://wm2019.fh-potsdam.de/index-en.html#workshops)). Author’s
instructions, along with LaTeX and Word macro files, are available at
Springer’s website.
Submissions should be original papers that have not already been
published elsewhere. However, papers may include previously published
results that support a new theme, as long as all past publications are
fully referenced.
We accept two types of submissions: Full papers (up to 16 pages), Short
papers (up to six pages) and position papers (2 pages). Full papers are
for mature work, requiring elaborate explanations of the conceptual
background, methodology and data as well as an analysis. Short papers
present work in progress, new, yet underdeveloped ideas worth discussing
in the workshop. Position paper poses a problem or question and a
possible answer or (technical) solution to be discussed at the workshop.
====================
Important dates
====================
Submission deadline for workshop contributions: 17 December 2018
Notification of acceptance of the papers: 14 January 2019
Camera-ready copy of the papers: 16 February 2019
Workshop at WM2019 in Potsdam: 18-20 March 2019

Subject: [AISWorld] *** CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS *** Blockchain and
Distributed Ledger Technology Use Cases: Applications and Lessons Learned
Date: Wed, 10 Oct 2018 10:00:07 +0000
From: Horst Treiblmaier <Horst.Treiblmaier(a)modul.ac.at>
To: aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
*** CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS ***
Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology Use Cases: Applications and
Lessons Learned
(published by Springer)
Within a short couple of years, Blockchain and other trustless systems
have turned from being relatively obscure technologies, which were only
known to a small community of computer scientists and cryptologists,
into mainstream phenomena that are seen as powerful game changers for
many industries. Given the manifold potential applications of Blockchain
to substitute or remove intermediaries, it does not come as a surprise
that the expectations from industry are high or even exaggerated.
Simultaneously, various applied academic communities have taken up the
subject and actively research either the technology or its implications.
Given that the dust of the initial hype has settled, it is now time to
explore how sustainable value can be created with the use of Blockchain
and related technologies implementing, exploring and evaluating real use
cases.
For this call for papers, we therefore invite chapters that describe the
application of Blockchain and related technologies in real-world use
cases. We will publish papers that clearly outline how those
technologies have been applied, what the rationale for their application
was and, finally, what the outcome was. It is the goal of this book to
provide a broad collection of applications, experiences and lessons
learned pertaining to a wide variety of industries and application
areas, including, but not limited to, financial markets, energy,
tourism, SCM, IoT, law and compliance.
*** Structure ***
We are looking for chapters that thoroughly discuss use cases of
Blockchain and related technologies. Each chapter needs to clearly
specify how the technology was applied and what exactly the outcome was.
Ideally, the authors comment on how those technologies helped to improve
performance in comparison to traditional systems. A critical position
should be taken and the advantages and disadvantages of Blockchain use
should be discussed. We highly appreciated the discussion of failures as
long as the case is well-documented. More specifically, the requirements
for acceptance are:
• Case study is relevant to the book’s theme
• Objectives are clear and well-described
• Chapter will draw an audience
• Chapter is well organized and flows logically
• Methodology is appropriate
• Evidence supports authors’ arguments
*** Formatting ***
All final submissions must have 6,000-9,000 words and follow the
template provided by the publisher. The references must be formatted
following APA style. Submissions that do not use this template or
deviate from the formatting requirements will be rejected without review.
*** Important Dates ***
• Submission of an Extended Abstract (~ 1,000 words): before October 31,
2018
• Submission of the Chapter: before May 31, 2019
*** Procedure ***
Interested authors can learn more, or submit a paper, by contacting the
editors directly.
The Cfp together with templates for MS Word and LaTeX can be found at:
