In conjunction with the IEEE International Conference on Big Data 2017
http://bdsmart.computing.dcu.ie/
Paper Submission deadline: September 22, 2017
SCOPE:
===========================
Smart Cities generate an immense amount of data that if analyzed, can
provide deep insights into behaviour of citizens and many aspects of our
society. Generally smart cities are characterised as an innovative city that
uses ICT to improve citizens¡¯ quality of life and efficiency within cities.
Obviously data is key for promoting economic growth, quality of life and
develop strategies for the city. Smart Buildings have emerged as an
important cornerstone in Smart Cities to achieve these aims. They can act as
an important source for vast amount of data and are key for efficiency
improvements related to energy, mobility and operation. In Smart Cities and
Smart Buildings, people are dealing with a tremendous amount of data.
These environments can be classed as Big Data environments in which data
sets increase in size, complexity and velocity. The data is fast moving and
change, and can be originated from various sources such as social networks,
unstructured data from different devices or raw feeds from building sensors.
They challenge traditional data management approaches and tools, concerning
performance, integration and analytics. However, one of a key challenge is
the huge number of data quality problems that can be time-consuming to solve
or even lead to incorrect data analytics. Despite the importance of data
quality for modern businesses, current research on Big Data quality is
limited. It is particularly limited knowledge exist on how to apply
traditional data management approaches and data quality models to Big Data
within Smart Cities and Smart Buildings. Therefore, this workshop aims to
discuss Big data in Smart Cities and Smart Buildings, and particular focuses
on the Big Data quality research from several perspectives.
With this workshop we view Big Data as a crucial asset that creates value
within Smart Cities, and thus needs to be managed accordingly for optimal
business value. We aim to provide a platform for discussing approaches,
models, results and case studies or experience reports addressing a broad
range of issues related to Big Data in Smart Cities and Smart Buildings.
Although this workshop can only provide a first platform for discussions and
propositions, it can build a foundation for further empirical research to

CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
Fifth International Workshop on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organising Socio-Technical Systems (SASOˆST)
at the Eleventh IEEE International Conference on Self-Adaptive and Self-Organizing Systems
(SASO 2017)
University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ; 18-22 September 2017
http://mocca.uni.lu/sasost/
EXTENDED DEADLINE: July 12, 2017
*************************************************************************
# Call for Contributions
The design and operation of computer systems has traditionally been driven by technical aspects and considerations. However, the usage characteristics of information and communication systems are both implicitly and explicitly determined by social interaction and the social graph of users. This aspect is becoming more and more evident with the increasing popularity of social network applications on the internet. This workshop will address all social aspects that influence the design of technical systems, covering different perspectives of this exciting research area from the computational modelling of social systems to socio-inspired design strategies for distributed algorithms, collaboration platforms and communication protocols.
## Topics
SASOST systems require a highly interdisciplinary approach, and the establishment of a research community around the creation of such systems is one of the workshop's key objectives. For this purpose, the workshop brings together experts from areas such as distributed computer systems, complex systems, and the social sciences to present findings and elaborate on the topic in the following complementary topical sections as well as open panel discussion rounds. Relevant topics include but are not limited to:
** Computational modelling of social systems **
- Trust, norms and reputation management
- Computational social science techniques
- Social network analysis in information systems and collaboration platforms
- Information spreading, opinion formation and collective user behaviour
- Real-time prediction of collective phenomena like, e.g., information cascades in social media
- Representation of and reasoning about computational laws
- Effects of trust models and metrics on self-organising autonomous systems
- Analysis of threats to self-organising and autonomous systems
- Data-driven modelling of human and social aspects in software engineering
** Applications of social aspects in technical systems **
- Socio-aware overlays and adaptation of network protocols and topologies
- Simulation and evaluation of computing systems using behavioural models
- Trust-based approaches to deal with uncertainty in self-organising systems
- Self-organising norm-governed systems
- Socially adaptive, scalable content distribution
- Real-time monitoring and prediction of collective user dynamics
- Smart grids and cyber-physical systems
- Utilisation of social structures for the scalable provision of distributed virtual environments and in application-level routing schemes for peer-to-peer, wireless ad-hoc or delay tolerant networks
- Socially inspired algorithms and network topologies for distributed search, consensus, gossiping etc.
## Papers and Talks
The organisers welcome the submission of short papers not exceeding 6 two-column pages in the IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style. We solicit both original research papers as well as position papers. The submissions need to be previously unpublished and currently not under review elsewhere. Accepted papers will be published as a bundle with the main conference proceedings by IEEE Computer Society Press and will be submitted to the indexing companies.
Furthermore, we encourage the submission of proposals for talks that present previously published work of special interest to the workshop community. Position statements encouraging discussions on the workshop's topics are also welcome. These proposals should also adhere to the two-column IEEE Computer Society Press proceedings style, not exceeding two pages. The workshop provides an excellent opportunity to discuss and share research results with a wider audience in an interdisciplinary environment.
Each submission will be peer-reviewed by two to three members of the programme committee in a single-blind process. The decision will be based on the motivation of the research, the clarity of the contribution and the relevance of the research to the domain of self-adaptive and self-organising socio-technical systems. In particular, submissions that promise to fuel discussions, which bring together results and issues from different disciplines and which thus contribute to the strengthening of an interdisciplinary community, will be given preference.
## Important Dates
Submission Deadline: July 12, 2017
Notification Due: July 21, 2017
Final Version Due: July 26, 2017

MULTI 2017
4th International Workshop on Multi-Level Modelling
https://www.wi-inf.uni-duisburg-essen.de/MULTI2017/
Co-located with MODELS 2017
September 19th, 2017
Austin, Texas
A growing community of researchers is excited about the prospects offered by multilevel modelling. However, there is still no clear consensus on what this new paradigm actually entails and how it should be applied. For example, there are different views on whether it is sound to combine instance facets and type facets into so-called clabjects, whether strict metamodeling is too restrictive, and what tool architectures provide the best framework for modelling with multiple classification levels. This lack of a foundational consensus is mirrored by the lack of a common focus in current multilevel tools.
The goal of MULTI 2017 (https://www.wi-inf.uni-duisburg-essen.de/MULTI2017), which takes place in Austin as part of the Models Conference (Sept. 17th-22nd), is to address these challenges and continue the community building established in the previous workshops. In particular, the goal is to encourage the community to delineate different approaches to multi-level modelling and define objective ways to evaluate their respective strengths/weaknesses.
One key way of addressing this goal is to identify standard/canonical examples specially designed to exercise the abilities of multilevel modelling approaches. We encourage submissions on new concepts, implementation approaches and formalisms as well as submissions on controversial positions, requirements for evaluation criteria or case-study scenarios. Contributions in the area of tool building, multilevel modelling applications, canonical examples and educational material are equally welcome.
Possible topics include, but are not restricted to:
- the exact nature and semantics of elements in a multilevel hierarchy and how best to represent them
- the importance and role of potency and its variants such a durability and mutability
- transitioning from traditional modelling approaches/tools to multi-level approaches
- engineering domain-specific languages and complete tool support
- methods for designing multilevel models
- formal approaches to multilevel modelling
- experiences and challenges in providing tool support for multilevel modelling
- experiences and challenges in applying multilevel modelling techniques to large and/or real world problems
- model management languages (transformation, code generation etc.) in a multi-level setting
- comparisons of multilevel and two-level solutions for modelling problems
- criteria for comparing multilevel modelling approaches and evaluating their usability
- canonical multi-level modelling examples and challenges
- distinct and multiple viewpoints on multilevel models
- methods for developing multilevel systems and languages
- the management of changes in multilevel models
- innovative systems architectures enabled by multilevel languages
- multilevel modelling versus knowledge engineering and ontologies
To promote the exchange between different schools of multilevel modelling and to contribute to a consolidation of the field, this year's MULTI will for the first time introduce a specific modelling challenge: https://www.wi-inf.uni-duisburg-essen.de/MULTI2017/#challenge
The participants are asked to develop a multilevel model, or multilevel DSMLs respectively, to represent a domain that is provided in a natural language description. The solutions should account for certain requirements and are expected to be submitted in a given structure.

CALL FOR PAPERS
ODBASE 2017 - The 16th International Conference on Ontologies, DataBases,
and Applications of Semantics
24-25 October 2017, Rhodes, Greece
http://www.otmconferences.org/index.php/conferences/odbase-2017
The conference on Ontologies, DataBases, and Applications of Semantics for
Large Scale Information Systems (ODBASE'17) provides a forum on the use of
ontologies, rules and data semantics in novel applications. Of particular
relevance to ODBASE are papers that bridge traditional boundaries between
disciplines such as artificial intelligence and Semantic Web, databases,
data analytics and machine learning, social networks, distributed and mobile
systems, information retrieval, knowledge discovery, and computational
linguistics.
This year, we emphasis the special topics of smart data analytics, Corporate
Semantic Web, and Pragmatic Web. The Corporate Semantic Web focuses on the
application of semantic methods and technologies in corporate environments
and enterprise information systems. The Pragmatic Web consists of the tools,
practices and theories describing why and how people use information. In
contrast to the Syntactic Web and Semantic Web the Pragmatic Web is not only
about form or meaning of information, but also about interaction which
brings about e.g. understanding or commitments. Under the Pragmatic Web
label we subsume both the pragmatics of ontologies (e.g. ontology
development in communities) and the ontology of pragmatics (e.g. semantics
of communicative action and context). Pragmatic Web technologies include
e.g., distributed ontology- and rule-based systems, tools for knowledge
interchange and social interaction, semantic agent technologies with
communication (e.g. speech acts), coordination, and negotiation protocols.
We also encourage the submission of research and practical experience papers
concerning software (e.g. scalability) and knowledge engineering issues in
semantic ontology and rule management, information/knowledge integration,
and extraction, as well as papers that examine the information and knowledge
needs of various applications.
ODBASE'17 intends to draw a highly diverse body of researchers and
practitioners by being part of the Federated conferences Event "On the Move
to Meaningful Internet Systems 2017 (OnTheMove'17)" that co-locates three
conferences: ODBASE'17, C&TC'17 (International Symposium on Secure Virtual
Infrastructures), and CoopIS'17 (International Conference on Cooperative
Information Systems).
ODBASE 2017 will consider two categories of papers: research and experience.
Research papers must contain novel, unpublished research results. Experience
papers must describe performance or usability of existing real-world
systems, empirical studies, business / industry cases with (proven)
solutions / systems for applied technological challenges, and concrete
results demonstrating real-world importance and impact; preference will be
given to papers that describe software products or systems that are in use
in the community and/or the industry.

*Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik 2018, Lüneburg, 6.-9.3. 2018*
**
*Call for Papers*
Digitalisierung, allgegenwärtige Datenverarbeitung, autonomes Fahren,
Liefernetze, datenzentrierte Geschäftsmodelle, Business Analytics, Big
Data und andere Trends setzen inner- und überbetriebliches
Datenmanagement voraus.
erweiterbaren Ontologien („Linked Data“) entstehen umfassende
Dateninfrastrukturen.
(„Data-as-Service“)
·Ansätze für das verteilte Datenmanagement, z. B. Open und Linked Data,
Blockchain, semantische Technologien und Ontologien
·Messung und Bewertung von Datenqualität
·Data Governance, Prozesse und Organisation
·Werkzeuge und Standards für das Datenmanagement
·Informations-/Datenarchitekturen sowie Meta-Datenmanagement
·Zwischenbetrieblicher Datenabgleich und Datenübertragung: EDI, Data
Pools, Industrial Data Spaces etc.
·Datenmanagement für spezifische Datenklassen: Stammdaten, analytische
Daten, unstrukturierte Daten, Sensor- und Streamingdaten
·Branchenspezifische Besonderheiten des Datenmanagements, z. B.
Automobilbranche, Gesundheitswesen, Finanzdienstleistungen, etc.
·Rechtliche und regulatorische Anforderungen an das Datenmanagement, z.
B. durch Datenschutzrichtlinien (GDPR/DSGVO) oder Compliance-Vorgaben
·Rollen des Datenmanagements, z. B. Chief Data Officer, Chief Digital
Officer etc.
·Management des Datenlebenszyklus: Product Life-Cycle Management,
Customer Life-Cycle Management
·Wirtschaftlichkeitsanalysen im Zusammenhang mit dem Datenmanagement,
