International Workshop on Security in NFV-SDN (SNS2017)
Datum: Fri, 10 Mar 2017 11:11:50 +0000
Von: Shao Ying Zhu <s.y.zhu(a)derby.ac.uk>

Call for Papers
Second IEEE International Workshop on Security in NFV-SDN (SNS2017)
(website: http://sns2017.eu/)
in conjunction with the 3rd IEEE Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft 2017)
July 3-7, 2017 Bologna, Italy
Scope
Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Network (SDN) technologies are radically
changing telecommunication networks. NFV virtualizes network services to reduce the dependency on
underlying hardware which aids resource management, provides faster service enablement and lowers OPEX
and CAPEX. SDN separates the control functions from the underlying physical network by decoupling the
control and data planes thereby offering improved programmability, ease of deployment, management,
reduced costs, better scalability, availability, flexibility and fine-grain control of traffic. But how does this
widespread adoption of NVF-SDN impact on network security, especially with an increased attack surface
implied by virtualization? In this workshop, we invite high-quality submissions in the areas of NFV and SDN
security and related areas. Submitted papers should highlight methods and approaches that can be used to
analyse the security risks, requirements and techniques related to NFV and SDN and to provide methods and
approaches to assure security and mitigate threats in NFV and SDN.
Topics of interest
Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following areas:
* Security threats and vulnerabilities introduced by NFV and SDN technologies
* Management and orchestration of NFV and SDN elements for security
* Security, reliability and privacy through SDN and NFV in 5G networks
* Threat detection and mitigation through SDN and NFV
* Security policy specification and management in SDN and NFV systems
* Security related monitoring and analytics in SDN and NFV solutions
* 5G security architecture, trust and confidence
* Authentication, Authorization and Accounting in SDN
* Security of applying SDN to wireless and mobile network
* Security of applying NFV and SDN to IoT
* Security of applying NFV and SDN to cloud computing
* Risk and compliance issues in SDN
* Security architectures for SDN
* Security standards for SDN
* Security of SDN data plane
* Security of SDN control plane
* Security of SDN application plane
* Security of routing in SDN
* Security as a service for SDN
Important Dates

The manuscripts must be prepared in English, following IEEE two-column Manuscript Templates
(http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html) for Conference
Proceedings with a maximum length of six (6) printed pages for full papers and up to four (4) pages for short
papers (work in progress), including figures. All papers need to be submitted in PDF format via JEMS at
https://submissoes.sbc.org.br/home.cgi?c=2763. All submitted papers will be peer-reviewed. To be
published in the Workshop Proceedings and to be eligible for publication in IEEE Xplore, at least one author of
an accepted paper is required to register and present the paper at the workshop. The IEEE reserves the right to
exclude a paper from distribution after the conference (including its removal from IEEE Explore) if the paper is
not presented at the conference. Papers are reviewed on the basis that they do not contain plagiarized
material and have not been submitted to any other conference at the same time (double submission). These

*** Workshop Descriptions ***
Grand Challenges in Modeling (GRAND)
This workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners interested
in the future of model-driven engineering. A lot has been achieved, but big
challenges remain. The purpose of this workshop is to help identify these
challenges and a research roadmap for model-driven engineering over the next
years.
4th International Workshop on Model-driven Robot Software Engineering (MORSE)
Robots are an indispensable part of modern production facilities. In the future,
robots will also become more common in daily life. Currently, however, there is a
lack of standardization w. r. t. hardware/software platforms for robots, leading to
a vast landscape of isolated, incompatible, task-specific and, thus, non-reusable
solutions. Consequently, there is a need for new engineering methodologies for the
design, implementation and execution of software for robotic platforms. MORSE
provides a venue for discussing new ideas on the application of model-driven
engineering to robotics.
5th International Workshop on Scalable Model Driven Engineering (BigMDE)
As Model Driven Engineering (MDE) is increasingly applied to larger and more complex
systems, the current generation of modelling and model management technologies are
being pushed to their limits in terms of capacity and efficiency. As such, additional
research and development is imperative in order to enable MDE to remain relevant with
industrial practice and to continue delivering its widely-recognised productivity,
quality, and maintainability benefits. The aim of this workshop is to provide a
venue where developers and users of modelling and model management languages and
tools can present problems and solutions around the scalability of MDE.
6th International Workshop on Verification and Validation Of modeL Transformations (VOLT)
This workshop offers researchers a dedicated forum to classify, discuss,
propose, and advance verification and validation techniques dedicated to
model transformations. VOLT 2017 promotes discussions between theoreticians
and practitioners from academy and industry. A significant part of the workshop
includes a forum for discussing practical applications of model transformations
and related problems. One of the goals of the forum is to collect enough
industrial case studies so that those problems can be stated at a theoretical
level.
8th International Workshop on Graph Computation Models (GCM)
Graphs are common mathematical structures which are visual and intuitive. They
constitute a natural and seamless way for system modeling in science, engineering
and beyond, including computer science, life sciences, business processes, etc.
Graph computation models constitute a class of very high-level models where graphs
are first-class citizens. Their mathematical foundation, in addition to their visual
nature, facilitates specification, validation and analysis of complex systems. The
aim of GCM 2017 is to bring together researchers interested in all aspects of
computation models based on graphs and graph transformation techniques. The workshop
promotes the cross-fertilizing exchange of ideas and experiences among researchers
and students from the different communities interested in the foundations,
applications, and implementations of graph computation models and related areas.
17th International Workshop in OCL and Textual Modeling (OCL)
Modeling started out with UML and its precursors as a graphical notation. Such
visual representations enable direct intuitive capturing of reality, but they have
weaknesses: for example, detailed visual representations bear the risk of becoming
overcrowded faster than textual models and some of the visual features lack the
level of precision required to create complete and unambiguous specifications.
These weaknesses of graphical notations encouraged the development of text-based
modeling languages that either integrate with or replace graphical notations for
modeling. The goal of this workshop is to create a forum where researchers and
practitioners interested in building models using OCL or other kinds of textual
languages can directly interact, report advances, share results, identify tools
for language development, and discuss appropriate standards.

CALL FOR PAPERS. 19th IEEE International Conference on BUSINESS
INFORMATICS (CBI’17)
24-27 July 2017, Thessaloniki, Greece
Abstract Submission deadline: 20 March 2017
Paper submission deadline: 26 March 2017
http://conferences.cwa.gr/cbi2017
Business Informatics is the scientific discipline targeting information
processes and related phenomena in their socio-economical business
context, including companies, organisations, administrations and society
in general. As a field of study, it endeavours to take a systematic and
analytic approach in adopting a multi-disciplinary orientation that
draws theories and practices from the fields of management science,
organisational science, computer science, systems engineering,
information systems, information management, social science, and
economics information science. The IEEE CBI 2017 is aimed at creating a
forum for researchers and practitioners from the fields that contribute
to the construction, use and maintenance of information systems and the
organisational context in which they are embedded. To this end, CBI 2017
welcomes submissions from the diverse spectrum of fields that underpin
the field of ‘business informatics’. Submissions may fall into one of
three categories:
* Research papers describing original research contributions
(theoretical, methodological or conceptual).
* Practice papers discussing problems or challenges that organisations
(private or public) face, relate them to the wider domain and provide
useful insights to practitioners from similar organisations and contexts.
* Visionary papers introducing new ideas and directions for research by
analysing the current state of the art, identifying the gaps and issues
that need to addressed, introducing an approach as a potential means to
bridge the gaps.
