SEmotion '18 Third International Workshop on Emotion Awareness in Software Engineering
ICSE 2018 Workshop, June 2 2018, Gothenburg, Sweden
Motivation
Affective computing is the study and development of systems and devices that can recognize, interpret, process, and simulate human affects, i.e. the experience of feelings or emotions. Over the past decade, research has shown the impact of affective states on work performance and on team collaboration. This also applies for software engineering that involves people in a broad range of activities, where personality, moods, and emotions play a crucial role. For successful software engineering projects, stakeholders need to experience positive affect (such as trust or appreciation), to agree on display rules for emotions, and to hold mutual commitment to the project goals. Recently, researchers started to study the role of affective computing and affective states in software engineering. However, contributions on this topic are currently presented and discussed in diverse conferences and workshops. This workshop follows on the second edition held at ICSE 2017, towards the consolidation of an international, sustainable forum for researchers and practitioners interested in the role of affect in software engineering to meet, present, and discuss their work-in-progress. Highquality contributions about empirical studies, theoretical models, as well as tools for supporting emotion awareness in software engineering are invited to the workshop, both from academia and industry.
Topics
This workshop aims at identifying and addressing challenges posed by emotion awareness in software engineering. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
* Impact of affective states (emotions, moods, attitudes, personality traits) on individual and group performance, commitment and collaboration in software engineering
* The role of affect in the social programmer ecosystem
* Leveraging stakeholders’ affective feeemotidback to improve software, tools, and processes (e.g., sentiment analysis of users’ feedback, aspect-based sentiment analysis of product reviews, etc.)
* Design, development, and evaluation of tools and datasets for supporting emotion awareness in software engineering
* Reusable software frameworks, APIs, and patterns for designing and maintaining affect-aware systems
* Ethnographic approaches to affect monitoring in the workplace of software projects
* Psychology of programming and modelling of affective states (e.g., defining/adapting psychological models of affect to software engineering, understanding the trigger behind emotions during developers’ activities, etc.)
* Affective state detection from multimodal analysis of spontaneous communicative behavior such as natural language processing, use of biometric measurements, analysis of body posture and gesture, speech analysis
* Affect sensing from communication artifacts (e.g., message boards, issue tracking, social media): techniques and tools for extracting and summarizing emotions in communication •
* Methodologies for large-scale emotion mining
* Emotion awareness in requirements engineering, software design, and software management
* Emotion awareness in software design philosophies, development practices, and tools
* Emotion awareness in cross-cultural teams in global software development
* Methodologies and standards
* Replications of prior studies
Types of Contributions
We invite three kinds of submissions:
Full papers (6 pages) describe emotion awareness challenges, needs, novel approaches, and frameworks. New approaches must be evaluated with users in this category. Empirical evaluation papers and industrial experience reports are also welcome;
Short position papers (3-4 pages) describe a new idea or work in progress;
Posters, data showcase and demo papers (1-2 pages) summarize a research project, tool, technique or datasets.

CALL FOR PAPERS
AW4city 2018, 4th International ACM Smart City Workshop: Enhancing
Citizen Centricity with Web Applications
In conjunction with The Web Conference 2018 (WWW'18: 27th World Wide Web
International Conference) Lyon, France, April 23, 2018
http://aw4city2018.wordpress.com
Important Dates
-------------------------
Submissions due: Jan. 20th, 2018 (23:59 Hawaii Standard Time)
Notification of Acceptance: Feb. 14, 2018.
Workshop authors' registration and camera-ready papers: March 10, 2018
Workshop day: April 23, 2018
Workshop Objective
----------------------------
Following up the success of the past events at WWW2015, WWW2016 and
WWW2017, the 4th AW4City 2018 aims to keep on attracting a significant
international attention with regard to web applications for smart cities.
The aim of this workshop is to address web-based application and Apps'
design and development in the smart city and urban context. More
specifically, it focuses on innovative applications smart city component
and more specifically on the design and implementation of web-based
applications and Apps. This component is crucial, since it addresses all
the smart city dimensions:
* Economy, since new types of entrepreneurship and
innovative business models appear in data, creative and climate
economies, and develop web applications and Apps.
* Mobility, with regard to urban transportation (intelligent
transportation), distance working, job offering demonstration etc.
* Environment, since applications enhance resource
management, transportation improvement, environmental monitoring etc.
* Living, since applications enhance local life (i.e.,
e-learning, e-banking, e-commerce, e-tourism etc.).
* People, since they concern applications' end users and
* Governance, where open data and e-government applications
play crucial roles in smart city operation.
This year, the workshop will emphasize on the contribution of web
applications and Apps to citizen centricity. In the era of cities,
municipal leaders, service and utility providers are making an important
shift regarding thinking of people as customers and of customer
experience. This shift is not a simple task since it demands a
continuous service monitoring, assessment and improvement, which
normally is based on accurate data analysis and appears as a thinking
that makes government and providers more personal and responsive. In
this respect, this workshop aims to demonstrate how web applications and
Apps can enhance local service delivery and continuous monitoring and
improvement.
Theoretical concepts, empirical evidence and selected case studies from
leading scholars and practitioners in the field showing the "big
picture" of smart cities and urban areas will be examined in this workshop.
This workshop aims at gathering researchers from the fields of smart
cities and web application development to think about the obstacles that
hurdle the leveraging of understanding and capturing of smart city
trends with regard web application development that interconnect
citizens, businesses and government in a smart city.
AW4City 2018 is timely, since an increasing criticism is being generated
that smart city represents an ambiguous urban utopia, which is supported
by the partnership of local governments with big technological vendors.
In this respect, articles can deliver a clearer view of smart city
reality, while innovative applications can strengthen the existence of
opportunities for new entrants in the smart city market. Moreover, most
standardization bodies evolve competitive standards for smart city
components and to this end, this workshop is expected to highlight
existing development and trends with regard to application development
(web-based, apps and end-to-end).
We target researchers from both industry and academia to join forces in
this exciting area. We intend to discuss the recent and significant
developments in the general areas of smart cities and web applications
and to promote cross-fertilization of techniques. In particular, we aim
at identifying trends and respective applications in smart cities; the
potential impact of smart city in web applications; techniques from
end-to-end solutions' or apps' development that will enable researchers
to understand the dynamic phenomena in smart cities, as well as specify
important directions for the research communities. Standards for web
applications' development in smart cities is interesting for several
areas such as sustainability, crisis management, marketing, security,
and interoperability. To address the above mentioned aspects, we solicit
the following topics (but not limited to):
* Enhancing citizen/customer experience with Web
Applications and Apps;
* Apps that support citizen engagement;
* Smart City management systems;
* Practices of Web applications and Apps in smart cities;
* Theoretical foundations on Smart City applications and
standards;
* Creative partnerships, creative industries and industry
4.0 in Smart City with a focus on application development (Internet
Economics and Monetization);
* Pervasive Web and Mobility for Smart City emerging topics
(i.e., user behavior analytics, energy, water, waste, transportation etc.)
* The role of government for smart city applications
development and standardization (i.e., promotion push, start-ups, open
data);
* Web Infrastructure standardization;
* The role of standards on smart city data mining;
* Smart city e-services for evaluation and benchmarking;
* Smart city information quality and evolution in social
content;
* Ensuring security and privacy in Smart Cities: the role of
web applications and Apps.

***************************************************************
8th Temporal Web Analytics Workshop (TempWeb 2018)
in conjunction with The Web Conference 2018
April 23/24, Lyon, France
http://www.temporalweb.net/
As in previous years, the objective of this workshop is to provide a venue for researchers of all domains (IE/IR, Web mining, etc.) where the temporal dimension opens up an entirely new range of challenges and possibilities. The workshop’s ambition is to help shaping a community of interest on the research challenges and possibilities resulting from the introduction of the time dimension in Web analysis. The maturity of the Web, the emergence of large-scale repositories of Web material, makes this very timely and a growing set of research and services are emerging that have this focus in common. Having a dedicated workshop will help, we believe, to take a rich and cross-domain approach to this new research challenge with a strong focus on the temporal dimension.
TempWeb focuses on investigating infrastructures, scalable methods, and innovative software for aggregating, querying, and analyzing heterogeneous data at Internet scale. Particular emphasis will be given to temporal data analysis along the time dimension for Web data that has been collected over extended time periods. A major challenge in this regard is the sheer size of the data it exposes and the ability to make sense of it in a useful and meaningful manner for its users. It is worth noting that this trend of using big data to make inferences is not specific to Web content analytics. Web scale data analytics therefore needs to develop infrastructures and extended analytical tools to make sense of these. Workshop topics of TempWeb therefore include, but are not limited to following:
• Web scale data analytics
• Temporal Web analytics
• Distributed data analytics
• Web science
• Web dynamics
• Data quality metrics
• Web spam evolution
• Content evolution on the Web
• Systematic exploitation of Web archives
• Large scale data storage
• Large scale data processing

Modelling and design challenges of Information Systems
for Supply Chain Management
https://ils2018.sciencesconf.org/data/pages/TS04.pdf
In conjunction with International Conference on Information Systems,
Logistics and Supply Chain, ILS 2018, 8-11 July 2018 Lyon (France)
https://ils2018.sciencesconf.org/
Important dates
---------------
- Paper submission deadline: December 18, 2017
- Notification of acceptance: February 23, 2018
- End of early registration: April 30, 2018
Objectives
----------
In an increasingly competitive business environment, the success of a
single enterprise depends on its ability to cooperate and integrate
with other businesses as companies are no longer competing on a
“firm-versus-firm”, but on a “supply-chain-versus-supply-chain” basis.
For improved cooperation and integration, supply chains need, more than
ever, to adopt and implement Information Systems. These Supply Chain
Information Systems (SCISs) support information exchange
and storage, and provide relevant information to the chain partners.
Implementing these inter-organizational information systems, shared by
two or more organizations, is a complex task requiring
both technical and organizational changes that need to be managed
carefully and therefore require well defined methods.
The objective of this special session is to allow researchers to
exchange on topics related to the
challenges associated with the modelling, the design and the
implementation of SCISs.
Topics
------
Authors are invited to submit original contributions on the following
or related topics:
- Integration of IT systems (ERP, CRM, SRM, ...) into SCM
- Interoperability of SCIS
- Methodologies for modelling, design and implementation of SCISs
- Organizational and technical challenges for SCIS projects
- Design of smart SCIS systems (IoT, ...)
- Project, risk and change management for SCIS
