Betreff: [AISWorld] AIS Call for Teaching Cases & Text Books
Datum: Tue, 30 Aug 2016 11:33:29 +0000
Von: vom Brocke Jan <jan.vom.brocke(a)uni.li>
An: AISWorld(a)lists.aisnet.org <AISWorld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
AIS CALL FOR TEACHING CASES & TEXTBOOKS
Have you written a teaching case or a textbook - and would you like others to use it?
The AIS intends to collect teaching cases and textbooks for Information Systems education and to make these resources available to the community via multiple channels. We have realized that there is a growing demand for recommendations on teaching cases and textbooks in various areas of IS education, and we believe that collecting such valuable resources would be highly beneficial.
Please note: Some cases and books are great resources for teaching even though they were not specifically written as teaching cases or text books. We explicitly welcome such resources, too, along side with your valued recommendation on how you use them in teaching.
REGISTER YOUR WORK
You can easily register your teaching cases and textbooks via the EDUglopedia platform, where links can be placed referring to the source of you work (e.g. on the AIS Library or on databases of journals and publishers). You can also use tags to indicate the topic areas you think your work can be used for teaching.
Please register your cases and books by September 15, 2016, using the link:
http://www.eduglopedia.org
PRESENTATION OF YOUR WORK
All teaching cases and textbooks will be available via the EDUglopedia platform once you register your work, and you will always be able to update and extend your entries. Once we have been able to collect a good amount of resources, AIS will also actively promote the collections via the AIS website and through AIS communication channels.
We intend to give greater visibility to your educational material as well as to support colleagues in enhancing their teaching through high-quality resources.
Thank you very much for your kind support.
All the very best

Betreff: [AISWorld] Call for Chapters_Springer Book on Mobile Big
Data_Extended Deadline
Datum: Mon, 29 Aug 2016 16:32:51 +0300
Von: George Mastorakis <mastorakis(a)gmail.com>
*Call for Book Chapters for the Springer-Verlag Handbook:*
*/Mobile Big Data/*
*/A Roadmap from Models to Technologies/*
*/Editors/*
*Georgios Skourletopoulos, University of Nicosia, Cyprus*
*George Mastorakis, Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece*
*Constandinos X. Mavromoustakis, University of Nicosia, Cyprus*
*Ciprian Dobre, University Politehnica of Bucharest, Romania*
*Evangelos Pallis, Technological Educational Institute of Crete, Greece*
*To be published in the “**Lecture Notes on Data Engineering and
Communications Systems” book series, Springer (2017)*
Introduction
The usage of mobile devices steadily grows causing an enormous raise in
the mobile data traffic over the Internet. Data is not produced only by
handheld devices, such as mobile phones and tablets, but also by
pervasive and wearable devices. They are configured for collecting and
delivering data to related servers that host online/mobile social
networks. To further support this argument, the explosion of data (i.e.,
web traffic and social network comments, as well as software and
sensors) helps businesses to guide decisions, trim costs and lift sales.
The link of communicating sensors to computing intelligence motivates
the rise of Internet of Things (IoT) or Industrial Internet. However,
the computer tools for gleaning knowledge and insights from the
unstructured data are fast gaining ground. In this context, the
multi-source collection of data brings into the researchers’ attention
issues that should be investigated, like novel access mechanisms and
multi-source Mobile Big Data Collecting techniques. Also, the huge
amount of data raises issues of distributed Big Data Storing
methodologies and Intra/Inter-Big Data processing.
In addition, the new trends of mobile networks that enable the
inter-connection of new types of devices along with their services rise
the need for adopting new data management solutions and network
architectures to support the provision of novel services and
applications. Furthermore, the fifth generation (5G) wireless
communication systems are envisaged to lead to higher-level mobile
users’ experiences, while it will also contribute to host novel services
and applications, which in turn will produce a vast amount of data. With
the emergence of ultra-fast 5G mobile networks and highly-featured
smartphones, tablets and wearable computing devices, the prerequisites
will be met for bringing cloud computing to the mobile domain. This book
indicates the emerging advances in Mobile Big Data based on an
engineering perspective, which are underway in research and cover a wide
range of mobile applications as well as scenarios.
The Overall Objective of the Book
This book aims to become a state-of-the-art reference, discussing
progress made, as well as prompting future directions on the theories,
practices, standards and strategies that are related to the Mobile Big
Data domain. The book will target methodologies aiming to take Mobile
Big Data to the Cloud, and be able to process Real-Time Streaming Events
on-the-move. The need of high velocity processing and low latency
response will be one of the major characteristics of the aims and
objectives of the sections related in the proposed book. Another aim of
the proposed book is to discuss methods and practices to improve
multi-source Big Data collecting techniques, as well as the integration
of resources’ availability through the 3As (Anywhere, Anything, Anytime)
paradigm.
*Topics:*
Chapters should be written in a manner readable for both specialists and
non-specialists.

inter-enterprise application systems. Since 1997, EDOC has brought
together leading computer scientists, IT decision makers, enterprise
architects, solution designers, and practitioners to discuss enterprise
computing challenges, models and solutions from the perspectives of
academia, industry, and government. The EDOC conference series
emphasizes a holistic view on enterprise applications engineering and
management, fostering integrated approaches that address and relate
business models, business processes, people and technology.
The main theme of EDOC 2016 is ”Enabling innovative business models in

ensure high quality of papers. All papers accepted for workshops will be
included in the Workshop Proceedings.
The workshop organizers will also have the discretion of editing
selected papers (after their expansion and revision) into books or
special journal issues. Workshops may be full-day or half-day. A
full-day workshop should select 12-15 regular papers, while a half-day
workshop should select 6-8 regular papers, from a large number of
submissions.
Workshop Proposal Submission Details
ICADWIT workshop proposals should include the following elements:
Title of the workshop.
The organizers name, affiliation, mailing address and e-mail address .
A description of the topic of the workshop (not exceeding 250 words).
Type of the workshop (full-day or half-day).
A description of how the workshop will contribute to the field of
Digital Information and Web Technologies.
A short description on how the workshop will be advertised so as to
ensure a sufficiently wide range of authors
and high quality papers.
