Conference
Invitation:
The bulk of IS research tends to be carried out in commercial
organizations, yet "IT in use" is just
as important in governmental, third sector and community organizations.
IT is needed to improve
efficiency but it also enables the creation of new services, and modes
of work and interaction, based
for instance on digital innovations and social media. There are
inspiring examples of innovative
design, but there are spectacular failures too, especially of large
scale projects, from which
lessons can be learned (although often not).
The challenges in designing systems are arguably greater in the social
than the commercial sphere,
given the complexity of relational work involving people. Resources are
also limited compared to
private business, meaning collaborative work with academe is especially
important, to help build
much-needed capacity and deliver creative and sustainable solutions.
The aim of this Conference is to promote research in the social sphere,
in health, social care, local
and central government, community informatics and beyond. All forms of
relevant research will be
welcome, especially of collaborative ventures, whether successful or not.
We are seeking to widen the community of engagement and would like to
hear from social and
information scientists, digital and new social media researchers,
systems thinkers, software
engineers, as well as those already committed to the disciplinary area
of Information Systems. To
encourage further engagement, we have secured the opportunity for the
best conference papers to be
considered for a number of high quality journals, which includes the
European Journal of Information
Systems and the International Journal of Information Management.
*** UKAIS 2013 will be a fully refereed conference using a blind
refereeing process of noted figures in the IS field ***
All papers should be formatted using the UKAIS 2013 conference template
and uploaded to the EasyChair submission system at:
https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ukais2013

Betreff: [AISWorld] INNOVATIONS IN KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT Second Call for
Chapters

*BOOK CHAPTERS ARE INVITED:*
INNOVATIONS IN KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
Sub title: The impact of social media, semantic web and cloud computing
/Editors: Gloria Phillips-Wren, Liana Razmerita and Lakhmi C. Jain/
/Publisher: Springer-Verlag, Germany./
Novel technologies including social media, semantic web and cloud
computing have the potential to reinvent the management of knowledge and
communication inside and outside the organisational borders. Recent
innovations in knowledge management have been associated with emerging
concepts such as enterprise 2.0, enterprise social software, knowledge
management 2.0, corporate semantic web, harnessing the collective
intelligence, and open innovation. These novel technologies along with
the associated emerging concepts are recognized to be critical for
creating competitive success in a global business environment. For
example, social media can be exploited as a driver for innovation within
and outside the company?s boundaries. An important question to be
addressed in this book is: How companies may explore these new ways of
managing knowledge, communicating and innovating in order to gain or
maintain their competitive advantage?
For this book, we seek chapters from both academia and industry
including case studies, novel architectures and conceptual models
combined with their evaluations in a corporate context.
Timeline
*30 November****2012*: Authors are invited to submit an extended
abstract (300-500 words) of their proposed chapters which includes
research question, methodology, and contribution.
15December2012: Acceptance decision.
30 September 2013: Draft chapters due
15November 2013: Feedback to the authors
30January2014: Camera ready chapters due
We will be pleased to offer one complimentary copy to the corresponding
author (or the first listed author) of each chapter as a token of
appreciation. Co-authored chapters are acceptable. The average length of
each chapter is approximately 20 to 30 pages.

The theme of ICEC?2013 is Effective, Agile and Trusted eServices
Cocreation. The theme reflects alignment between computerized,
formalized business procedures with the need for innovating business
genuinely on-the-spot, or ad-hoc, to the needs of a customer. The

real-time - all this with sufficient feed-back and secure mechanisms for
trusted sales
between remote sellers and buyers, or between authorities and citizens.
The authors are requested to cover at least one of the areas of the
theme. Please consider the use of multi-theory, multi-method approaches
for practical relevance, as well as employing innovative research and
