on Service Oriented Computing (ICSOC 2011)
December 5-8, Paphos, Cyprus
Workshop website: http://soclog11.wifa.uni-leipzig.de
===================================================================
Workshop Theme
==============
Service orientation is one of the most important paradigms of
nowadays computing. Service orientation is also important for
logistics: The objective of logistics is to service individual firms,
supply chains, and entire industries with flexible means for realizing
flows of goods from the point of origin to the point of destination.
Logistics relies therefore essentially on the ability to sharing
resources of different organizations, providing complex services based
on existing services, coordinating service delivery across organizations,
and maintaining an agreed quality of service. These requirements match
closely to the characteristics of service orientation in computing.
This workshop aims at studying, grounding, and finally exploiting the
potentials of service oriented computing to solving integration and
coordination problems in logistics as a key enabler of flexible supply
chains. Key research questions are:
(1) How to represent logistics systems in service-based computing
systems by employing and adopting constructs, models, and methods of
the SOC technology stack,
(2) how to describe software-based logistics services, (3) how to
coordinate software-based logistics services, by employing and adopting
approaches for service discovery and service composition,
(4) how to negotiate and agree upon the delivery of software-based
logistics services with approaches for SLA representation, SLA
management, and SLA negotiation, and
(5) how to control the delivery of software-based logistics services
by measuring their efficiency and effectiveness?
Topics

* AIM AND SCOPE
Complex communication systems are characterised by the presence of
intricate interactions between their heterogeneous parts, and an overall
behaviour which can not be easily explain by the properties of these
individual components.
For such systems, it is therefore particularly interesting to focus on
how information flows between these parts, in terms of dynamical and
statistical properties.
Whether this flow has to be optimised or controlled, understanding its
structure and dynamics is crucial. For many systems, the security of
this information flow, or the level of synchronisation between entities,
also need to be considered.
These questions cover a number of problems, from data transfer in cloud
computing and in high-performance computing, to information diffusion in
mobile ad-hoc networks.
The aim of this workshop is to give an overview of current knowledge on
complex information flows, and to consider translational aspects between
multidisciplinary research areas. Open issues and research challenges
will be discussed, so as to provide a vision, and possible solutions,
for the future of the field.

Subject: [WI] CfP - MKWI 2012 - Teilkonferenz
"Zukunftsfähigkeit unternehmensweiter Anwendungssysteme"
Date: Wed, 7 Sep 2011 10:07:50 +0200
From: Hanna.Theuer(a)wi.uni-potsdam.de

*Einladung zur Einreichung von Beiträgen*
*Zukunftsfähigkeit unternehmensweiter Anwendungssysteme*
Ausgelöst durch auftretende externe und interne
Anforderungen zahlreicher Anwenderunternehmen besteht ein
hoher Bedarf an einer zukunftsfähigen Unternehmens-IT. In
nahezu allen Unternehmensbereichen sind unternehmensweite
Anwendungssysteme wie ERP-Systeme in die betrieblichen
Prozesse eingebunden.
* Unternehmensübergreifende Integration von ERP-Systemen
* Neue Organisationskonzepte für die zwischenbetriebliche
Kooperation
* ROI-Analysen für den Auswahl- und Einführungsprozess
* Usability unternehmensweiter Anwendungssysteme
* Wandlungsfähigkeit
* Eigenschaften zukunftsfähiger Anwendungssysteme
* Aspekte der Mobilität, Interoperabilität und
Skalierbarkeit für die Gestaltung von
Anwendungslandschaften
* Herausforderungen an IT-Lösungen für die dezentrale
Produktionssteuerung
* Technologie-Adaption, z. B. RFID-Technologien,
Grid-Systeme, Mobile Anwendungen, SOA, etc.
* Hybride Wertschöpfungsgestaltung
* Integration von SCM-, CRM- und SRM-Technologien
* Potenziale und Herausforderungen des Cloud Computing
* Neuer Bedienoberflächen (Multi-Touch, Spracheingabe,
neuronale Informationsverarbeitung) in
unternehmensweiten Anwendungssystemen
* Soft- und Hardwareeinsatz von Apple-Produkten im Unternehmen
*Programmkommitee*

*POST- ICIS 2011 *
*LG CNS/KrAIS WORKSHOP ON *
*E-Collaboration through Information Communication Technologies*
**
*Shanghai, China - December 7, 2011*
With the advancement of information and communication
technologies, there have been massive changes in the ways
that people are collaborating. This key trend of
collaboration can trace its roots to the increasing usage of
e-collaboration through information and communication
technologies.
In conjunction with the 2011 International Conference of
Information Systems (ICIS), Korean Association for
Information Systems (KrAIS) will hold its second Post-ICIS
LG CNS/KrAIS Research Workshop immediately after the
conference in Shanghai, China. We cordially invite you to
submit your paper to the workshop. We are particularly
interested in original research work on a broad range of
topics on e-collaboration through information and
communication technologies. However,we welcome papers on any
topics related to information systems as the Workshop is not
restricted toany specific topics.
We solicit original research and technical papers not
published nor submitted elsewhere. Doctoral students and
junior faculty members are especially encouraged to submit
their research. Student papers will be given special
consideration. Selected high quality papers from the
workshop proceedings will be invited for a possible
fast-track publication in the KMIS? flagship journal, Asia
Pacific Journal of Information Systems (APJIS).
*Scholarship for Students:*
Through the generous financial support by LG CNS, the KrAIS
will award scholarship (US$500 each) to four students. The
program co-chairs will select four student papers based on
reviewers? comment and recommendation. Special
considerations will be given to those who arethe sole or
lead author of the paper.
*Background:*
As a chapter of the Association for Information Systems
(AIS) serving AIS members with Korean heritage, Korean
Association for Information Systems (KrAIS) aims to promote
the scholarship by its members. Any Korean scholars and
professionals - both domestic and abroad - who are
interested in the development, management, and use of
information and communications technology are encouraged to
participate.
The objective of the KrAIS Research Workshop is to provide a
forum where its members can exchange ideas and information
and promote possible collaboration among its members. In
particular, the Workshop will focus on helping graduate
students and junior faculty improve their research and
develop scholarship through close interactions with peers
and senior faculty. The workshop will help graduate students
and junior faculty publish their research in top-tier
scholarly journals and effectively move their careers forward.
Another important objective of the Workshop is to improve
the reputation and the impact factor of the KMIS? flagship
journal, Asia Pacific Journal of Information Systems (APJIS)
through citations and publications.
*Important Dates:*
Submission Deadline: September 14, 2011
Notification of Acceptance: October 31, 2011
Workshop: December 7, 2011
*Submission:*
Authors are encouraged to submit either complete research or
research-in-progress paper complying with ICIS 2011
formatting requirements
(http://icis2011.aisnet.org/template_submissions2011.doc).
All submissions must be either in English or in Korean. If
you want to submit paper in Korean, please submit a two-page
extended abstract in English as well.
Authors who are interested in participating in the workshop
need to submit paper by September 14, 2011 to Dan J. Kim
(_danjongkim(a)gmail.com <mailto:danjongkim@gmail.com>_) and
Gee-Woo Bock (gwbock(a)skku.edu <mailto:gwbock@skku.edu>).
Submissions will undergo a blind review process. All authors
should agree to provide timely reviews of at most two other
submissions, if requested.
*Format of Workshop:*
In order to facilitate in-depth discussion and exchange of
ideas, the Workshop will feature roundtable sessions where
five to six authors briefly present their research for about
10 minutes each, followed by questions and discussions.
Tables will be organized based on research interests and
will be led by two senior scholars who will serve as
mentors. All participants are expected to have read all the
papers for the table prior to the workshop so that the
discussion will focus on how to improve the paper. All
participants may choose to present or discuss in Korean or
English as most KrAIS members are bilingual. However,
separate tables will be assigned to the members who can
speak only English.
*Time and Venue:*
The Workshop will be held from 12:30pm to 5 pm on December
7, 2011 in the ICIS conference hotel. Immediately following
the Workshop, the KrAIS business meeting and dinner will be
held from 6 to 8 pm. We ask current and future KrAIS members
stay an extra day to support the new initiative by KrAIS.
*Registration:*
The LG CNS/KrAIS Research Workshop has been registered as an
official ancillary meeting and will appear in the official
