THE FIFTH ANNUAL INTERNATION WORKSHOP ON DATA MINING AND AUDIENCE INTELLIGENCE
FOR ONLINE ADVERTISING (ADKDD 2011)
Held in conjunction with the 17th International Conference on Knowledge
Discovery and Data Mining (SIGKDD '11)
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Online advertising is a key component in the whole internet ecosystem and is
growing rapidly with constantly evolving business models and practices.
Examples of online advertising include sponsored search, display advertising,
rich media ads, social network advertising, interstitial ads, online classified
advertising, e-mail marketing and so on. This fertile economic environment
brought about large volumes of data along with challenging data mining
problems. Understanding end users' need and advertisers' goals, as well as
figuring out the right strategy to connect user and ads for each type of
advertising, will benefit all players in advertising marketplaces and enable
technologies for the right advertisement to be delivered to the right users at
the right time. Driven by this goal, breakthrough data mining methodologies and
applications will appear in the advertising domain. Therefore, a forum for
researchers and industry practitioners to exchange latest research results and
construct collaborations will be of great service to the data mining community
and generate value for the industry.
Following on the success of the four previous ADKDD Workshops, ADKDD 2011 will
be held in San Diego CA, in conjunction with KDD 2011, to provide a high-level
international forum for the academic community and the industry to present the
state of the art of algorithms and applications of advertising.
Papers on all aspects of data mining and audience intelligence for advertising

From: Baumöl, Ulrike <Ulrike.Baumoel(a)FernUni-Hagen.de>
To: wi(a)aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de <wi(a)aifb.uni-karlsruhe.de>
Teilkonferenz "IT Performance Management / IT-Controlling"
auf der Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik (MKWI) 2012,
http://mkwi2012.de/
29.02.-02.03.2012 an der Technischen Universität Braunschweig
Leitung der Teilkonferenz:
Prof. Dr. Ulrike Baumöl, FernUniversität in Hagen, Prof. Dr.
Walter Brenner, Universität St. Gallen, Prof. Dr. Lutz
Kolbe, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Dr. Stefan
Strecker, Universität Duisburg-Essen, Prof. Dr. Rüdiger
Zarnekow, Technische Universität Berlin
Inhalt:
hochaktuell.
begegnen. Die Teilkonferenz ist für alle
forschungsmethodischen Herangehensweisen offen (z. B. auch
Fallstudienforschung und gestaltungsorientierte
Forschungsansätze) und berücksichtigt neben
wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen auch anspruchsvolle
Praxisberichte, für die ein gesondertes
Begutachtungsverfahren durchgeführt wird. An
wissenschaftliche Beiträge werden die üblichen Anforderungen
nach Begründung, Abstraktion, Kritik und Originalität
gestellt.
Information Systems"
-IT-Governance, IT-Compliance, IT-Auditing und
IT-Risikomanagement

http://www.mkwi2012.de/themen/cfps/software-as-a-service-und-cloud-computin…
*++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
*Inhalt:*
B. Software-as-a-Service) bzw.
Infrastruktur-Services (wie z. B. Storage oder Utility
Computing Services) gegenüber konventionellen Modellen
zunehmend an Boden gewinnen. Nicht zuletzt lassen sich mit
dem Entstehen von sog. Software-Ökosystemen bzw.
-Plattformen (z. B. Force.com von Salesforce.com, Business
ByDesign von SAP und Apples' AppStore) Veränderungen auf der
Ebene ganzer Wertschöpfungsstrukturen erkennen.
Entlang der Wertschöpfungsstufen (von der Entwicklung bis
zur Nutzung von Software) und Aggregationsebenen (vom
granularen Einzel-Service bis hin zum komplexen
Software-Ökosystem) werden zahlreiche Fragen an der
Nahtstelle von Betriebswirtschaft und Informatik
aufgeworfen.
* Herausforderungen für Software-Unternehmen hinsichtlich
einer wachsenden Service-Orientierung wie z. B. neue
Fertigkeiten/Programmierparadigmen,
Mitarbeiterprofile/Qualifikationen, Service Operations etc.
* Preispolitik für Software- und Dienstleistungsanbieter
* Industrialisierung der Entwicklung von Services
* Inter-organisationale Service-Systeme und -Netzwerke
(Service value networks)
* Wandel von Wertschöpfungsstrukturen in der Software
Industrie (Service Ecosystems, Service Plattformen)
* Service Innovation Methods - Prozesse/Methoden zur
Invention neuer Services in Unternehmen
* Integration von Services in bestehende
IT-Anwendungslandschaften (Back-End und Front-End)
* Orchestrierung verteilter Services im Rahmen eines
Business Process Management

Subject: [WI] MKWI 2012 - CfP Track "Virtual Realities and
Gaming"
Date: Mon, 11 Apr 2011 10:38:06 +0200
From: Prof. Dr. Stefan Stieglitz

Organization: Universität Münster
To: WI Liste <wi(a)lists.uni-karlsruhe.de>
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*CALL FOR PAPERS - **Track **“Virtual Realities and Gaming”*
*auf der Multikonferenz Wirtschaftsinformatik 2012 in
Braunschweig (29.02.-02.03.2012)*
http://mkwi2012.de/themen/virtual-realities-and-gaming/**
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Hintergrund:*
Computerspielen
* Kollaborative Wertschöpfung und Entrepreneurship in
virtuellen Realitäten
* Anwendung virtueller Realitäten in der
Unternehmenskommunikation und -kollaboration sowie in
der Aus- und Weiterbildung
* Computerspiele und virtuelle Welten im Innovationsprozess
* Geschäftsmodelle in der Gaming Industrie,
Geschäftsmodelle auf Basis virtueller Welten
* Virtuelle Welten und Computerspiele als Instrumente
des Lernen und Verlernens
* Design, Entwicklung und Betrieb von virtuellen Welten
und Computerspielen
* Wirkung und Interdependenzen von Spieldynamiken und
-mechanismen
* Adoption und Benutzerakzeptanz von virtuellen Welten
und Computerspielen
* Vertrauen und Transparenz in virtuellen Welten und
Computerspielen
* Kreativität und Motivation in Computerspielen
* Serious Games
*Programmgestaltung:*
Forschungsergebnisse darstellen. Die akzeptierten Beiträge
werden als Conference-Proceedings veröffentlicht.
Erfahrungsberichte mit Neuigkeits- und
Alleinstellungsmerkmalen sowie interdisziplinäre Beiträge
sind willkommen. Ziel ist eine Mischung theoretischer und
praktischer Arbeiten. Alle Beiträge werden in anonymisierter
Form von zwei Mitgliedern des Programmkomitees begutachtet.
Einreichungen aus dem Programmkomitee sind zulässig.

Getting requirements right is critical to the success of just about
any software development project, and yet oftentimes challenging and
in need of a large amount of knowledge and experience. "Patterns" have
been used to capture knowledge of software development, concerning
software architectures, component designs and programs, and more
recently requirements engineering too. This workshop provides an open
forum for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and
experience, regarding pattern-based approaches to capturing,
organizing, and reusing all aspects of requirements
engineering-related knowledge, from both product and process
perspectives.
Submissions of specific patterns of all requirements
engineering-related knowledge are encouraged. Examples of such
patterns include, but not limited to, patterns of requirements
modeling, requirements engineering process/activities,
application/domain-specific or application/domain-independent
requirements, FRs/NFRs/goals/social aspects, and the transitioning
from requirements to architectures/designs. This workshop also
welcomes technical papers, including full and position research
papers, experience reports, empirical and case studies that report
findings on requirements pattern-related topics, including, but not
limited to, capturing, harvesting, mining, cataloging, organizing,
searching, reusing and applying patterns, quality of patterns, pattern
management and tool support.

Pablo Sanchez, Universidad de Cantabria, Spain
Joao Araujo, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal
Ana Moreira, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal
Model-Driven Development (MDD) is a new paradigm for software
development where models are no longer simple mediums for describing
software systems or only facilitating inter-team communication. In
MDD, models become first-class citizens, and a software system is
obtained through the definition of different models at different
abstraction layers. Models of a certain abstraction layer are derived
from models of the upper abstraction layer by means of automatic model
transformations, providing faster and more reliable results.
MDD processes that explicitly include requirements models are rarely
found as the main achievements of MDD have been related to the design
and implementation levels. Nevertheless, Requirements Engineering (RE)
could also benefit from model-driven techniques. For instance, model
transformations may be used to ensure consistency between different
kinds of requirements models (e.g., goal models, scenario models,
domain models), to automatically construct initial system or
architectural models from requirements (e.g., by deriving a more
detailed UML model from a goal or scenario model), or to increase
separation of concerns (e.g., MDD solutions may be applied more
concisely to RE models with clearly separated concerns).
This inaugural Model-Driven Requirements Engineering (MoDRE) workshop
provides a forum to discuss the challenges of MDD for RE. Building on
the success of MDD for design and implementation, RE may benefit from
MDD techniques when properly balancing flexibility for capturing
varied user needs with formal rigidity required for model
transformations as well as high-level abstraction with information
richness. MoDRE intends to identify new challenges, discuss on-going
work and potential solutions, and analyze the strengths and weaknesses
of MDD approaches for RE with the help of a case study problem that is
used during the workshop to stimulate discussions and to apply MDD
approaches for RE.

Requirements Engineering Education and Training 2011 (REET'11) will
address issues related to RE education, both as part of a formal
university degree and as ongoing skills training within the workplace.
The workshop is intended to go much deeper than a surface discussion
of curriculum issues and will examine specific ideas and techniques
for teaching and assessing skills needed by an effective requirements
engineer. The format of the workshop will include full papers,
position papers, and pedagogical papers and activities that can be
demonstrated during the workshop. The intent is to involve workshop
attendees in performing the activities as well as interactive
discussions about the topic. Workshop topics may include curriculum
development and creative contributions related to pedagogical
techniques for teaching RE skills and could take the form of
experience reports or demonstrations of specific teaching techniques
and training materials.

The integrity and assurance of a complex and safety-critical systems
correct behavior with respect to specification can be achieved, if
good engineering practices are appropriately devised and used. With
respect to this, there are a number of engineering approaches to
tackle (some of) the issues existed in the domain. This workshop aims
to identify best practice for the engineering of electronic voting
(e-voting) system requirements and business process models, and to
improve the current specification and development of the e-voting
system standards and accreditation (certification) processes.
Particular attention will be given to the (formal) analysis of voting
requirements documents (e.g., recommendations, standards and
guidelines), including those that pre-date e-voting.

The Web was conceptualized as a database. It has since evolved into a
platform for conducting business transactions. Today, we are
witnessing it evolve into a social platform, where autonomous actors
-- humans, organizations, and their software surrogates -- engage each
other in both business and social interactions. In short, we are
moving away from a data-centric model to an actor-centric one.
The evolution though has been largely ad hoc. The purpose behind this
workshop is to shed light on the semantic foundations of social
computing. In particular, the focus is on the identification of new
requirements engineering challenges and their solutions. We invite
contributions on (1) the modeling of interactions among actors, with
an emphasis on high-level concepts such as trust, commitments, and
contracts, (2) social middleware that supports interaction among
actors, and (3) actor models and strategies keeping in mind
interaction and social considerations.

Krzysztof Wnuk, Lund University, Sweden
Software product management is the discipline of managing
software-intensive products across their life-cycle. It includes
working with requirements, release definitions, product lifecycles,
the creation and interpretation of product strategies, balancing
long-term technology push with shorter-term market-pull, and assuring
a successful business case by selecting the right requirement for
realization. Software product management is complex: there are any
intra- and inter-organizational stakeholders and many
responsibilities. Currently, there is no formalized education on
software product management and only a small, but growing, body of
scientific knowledge.
Following the success of the 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010 workshops in
conjunction with the respective RE-conferences, the IWSPM 2011
workshop shall continue to increase the body of knowledge for software
product management by providing a forum to exchange ideas and publish
research results. It will build and shape the community of leading
practitioners and research experts.
Software product management is not only relevant for pure software
companies and companies that develop software intensive systems, but
also for companies that provide services to customers using long-lived
software infrastructures. The field of software product management is
relatively unexplored from both the scientific and industrial
perspectives. IWSPM brings together researchers and industrial
representatives for the purpose of exchanging ideas and to iteratively
guide the research agenda based on industry needs.

Annie Anton, North Carolina State University (NCSU), USA
David Baumer, North Carolina State University (NCSY), USA
Travis Breaux, Carnegie Mellon University, USA
Dimitris Karagiannis, University of Vienna, Austria
The objective of the workshop is to foster the discussion related to
requirements engineering triggered by any legal regulation or law. For
the enrichment of information systems with requirements derived from
the regulations needed, a formalization of said is necessary and is
resolved by interpretation, focused discussion, negotiation and
reconciliation on the part of professionals with diverse viewpoints:
business managers, engineers, lawyers and regulators. This means an
active and continuous process: "Governance in Motion". Today's rapidly
changing environment which is accompanied by remarkable technology
innovation and presupposes easy and quick access to information, new
communication models, and increasing dependence on collaboration and
cooperation motivates the discussion further on. Additionally this
environment presents new challenges in trustworthy computing,
regulatory compliance, and highly flexible business processes with
traceability and accountability that require new and enhanced
concepts, frameworks and tools for business and software engineering.
The single organization will need to actively steer and determine its
organizational structures and processes on a permanent basis to ensure
the attainment of its strategy and targets. Compliance to legal
regulations is part of the organization's governance and requirements
incorporated in law need to be addressed in business and information
technology (IT).
The fourth RELAW workshop is a multi-disciplinary, one-day workshop
that brings together practitioners and researchers from two domains:
Requirements Engineering and Law. Participants from government,
industry and academic sectors investigate challenges to ensure that
information systems comply with policies and laws. The workshop will
probe important issues, including the processes for identifying
relevant policies, laws and jurisdictions, aligning laws with system
requirements, managing requirements and changes in the law and
demonstrating how systems comply with relevant laws through
evidence-based mechanisms such as documentation, testing and
certification.
For the first time since the workshop's inception, RELAW will include
a separate track from the requirements engineering research and
industry papers to include submissions from law scholars to address
emerging IT challenges in today's regulatory environment.

Emmanuel Letier, University College London (UK)
Anthony Finkelstein, University College London (UK)
Requirements(a)run.time will explore a radical challenge to the
traditional view of requirements models as static, slowly-evolving and
purely design-time entities. requirements(a)run.time will explore the
potential for runtime abstractions and models of requirements as a
practical means to address the challenges posed by volatile or
poorly-understood environmental contexts. These include (e.g.)
business environments that are subject to dramatic and unforeseen
economic conditions, or physical environments that may be remote and
hostile to humans and computers. For such systems, detailed a-priori
domain understanding is not achievable at design-time. This inevitably
acts against the formulation of stable requirements. Rather, the
requirements will need to be revised and reappraised over periods too
short to be achieved by off-line adaptive maintenance. To achieve
this, systems will need to maintain requirements models that are
dynamic, runtime entities that support reasoning, sometimes with the
aid of human, and sometimes not, so that the systems can respond in
appropriate ways to changes in their environments.
requirements(a)run.time takes its cue from important recent work in a
number of areas, including requirements monitoring, computational
reflection, self-adaptive systems and multi-objective reasoning.

Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field focused on the
design and implementation of large and complex systems. A
System-of-systems integrates a set of otherwise independent and
self-contained systems that pool their resources in order to meet a
common goal. Such systems include transportation systems, hospital
networks, "smart" buildings, large scale defense systems, as well as
systems from many other domains. Managing requirements for such
projects can be extremely complex and challenging as requirements must
be addressed not only for individual components, but also for the
overall infrastructure, interfaces, and governance of the system. As
an emerging area of research, Requirements Engineering for systems and
systems-of-systems represents a critical discipline in which
methodologies, thought processes, frames of reference, and technology
support are still emerging. This workshop therefore invites
contributions addressing issues, challenges, and solutions related to
requirements engineering for such systems.

MERE strives to make requirements engineering more engaging, desirable
and rewarding in order to increase its impact on the value creation
chain. Improving the interactions and interactivity between
stakeholders will allow requirements engineers to accommodate a more
diverse audience, thereby facilitating improved input to requirements
development as early and often as practical. As communication can
occur in forms other than written or spoken natural language, such as
facial expression or gesture, we draw inspiration for processes and
representations from domains as diverse as the movie and game
industries, storytelling, improvisation theater, industrial design,
marketing, and media production. MERE provides an opportunity for
researchers and practitioners to exchange new and innovative ideas
relating to challenges in the domain.

Call for Papers
2nd International Workshop on The Web and Requirements Engineering (WeRE'11)
http://gplsi.dlsi.ua.es/congresos/were11
In conjuntion with 11th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE 2011)
Paphos, Cyprus, July 20-21, 2011
Conference Web Site: http://icwe2011.webengineering.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Motivation& Purpose
-------------------------------
The International Workshop on the Web and Requirements Engineering (WeRE) will offer an international forum for exchanging ideas on both using Web technologies as a platform for requirements engineering, and applying requirements engineering in the development and use of web-based applications. We invite to submit original, high-quality papers that present on-going work on new ideas and experiences with Requirements Engineering and the Web. The workshop will focus on discussion and exchange of ideas among researchers, designers, and users who are working or are interested in any combination of these two main topics. In the last decade, the number and complexity of web-based applications and the amount of information they offer has been growing exponentially. In the context of Software Engineering, design methods and methodologies have been introduced to support the development of these complex applications in a systematic way. However, most of these methodologies focus on design and neglect other tasks, notably requirement analysis and quality management. However, in the development of traditional (non-web) applications both practitioners and process experts regard requirements engineering as a phase of crucial importance in the development process. It is well-known that the most common and time-consuming errors as well as the most expensive ones to repair, are those caused by inadequate engineering of requirements. Moreover, web-based applications demand new requirements engineering techniques that need to be adapted to a large, open and changing community of, can deal with navigational requirements and broad in scope so that they can account for business processes as well as web usability. These new techniques will need to offer more participatory environments to support effective collaboration among stakeholders. In this context, the Web (especially Web 2.0 applications), provide a convenient platform to allow stakeholders and users alike more active participation in requirements engineering.

Subject: [AISWorld] Final CfP: The Role of Platforms for
Enterprise Eco-Systems
Date: Wed, 6 Apr 2011 14:01:30 +0200
From: 3EP <3EP(a)eris.uni-mannheim.de>
To: <aisworld(a)lists.aisnet.org>
Workshop at the 41. Annual GI-Conference INFORMATIK 2011
October 04 ? 07, 2011 ? Berlin, Germany
Please excuse any cross-postings of this call for papers.
Since their introduction, Information Systems have changed and shaped many
aspects of business, may be even the way business is conducted altogether.
This is especially true for the cooperation between firms that leads to an
integration of value chains across multiple entities. The emerging networks
span not only the various business units of any one company, but may also
include multiple units from multiple firms. As a consequence, companies need
to look not only at themselves in order to ensure sustainable and superior
business performance, but also at an entire eco-system of surrounding
entities with which they interact. These eco-systems span multiple stages of
the supply chain, that is, involve suppliers and customers. In order to
allow these different units to cooperate successfully, the existence of a
common platform is crucial. Such a platform enables the transformation of
monolithic, closed system landscapes into a more open infrastructural
backbone for business networks. An example is the increasing adoption of
service-oriented architecture (SOA). Through its higher degree of
modularity, SOA allows companies to integrate external services much more
easily. Moreover, the process and service chains of various entities along a
value chain can be integrated much more seamlessly. Another case in point is
the growing importance of Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) concepts and
corresponding offerings.
The workshop on emerging enterprise eco-system platforms (3EP) provides a
forum for the scientific discourse dealing with the role of platforms in
business networks. The event aims at taking a both diverse and balanced look
on the impact and effects of platforms on enterprise eco-systems. During the
workshop we want to discuss technological as well as management-oriented
issues. In doing so, we want to encourage an exchange concerning design,
use, and optimization of platforms in enterprise eco-systems among software
developers, platform providers, and users.
Possible Topics:
- Different architectural approaches to platforms for respective application
scenarios
- Business models in the context of service-oriented platforms for
integrated information systems
- Technological and organizational implications for platform providers
- Orchestration and composition of services
- Software product life-cycle in distributed and dynamic business networks
- Performance measurement and management of external services
- Effects of platform concepts on the degree of integration in business
networks
- Approaches to coordinate internal and external services
- Implications for the data layer (e.g., issues of data integration and
interoperability)
- Platform governance
- Emerging opportunities and potentials through the use of platforms
- Interaction between application marketplaces and platforms
- Economic implications of platform concepts for the software industry
- Impact of consumerization on platforms used in an enterprise context
- Case studies and best practices of platform providers and platform users
Your contribution:
We welcome theoretical and empirical papers as submissions for the 3EP
workshop. Exemplary cases from the industry are also welcome to enrich the
discussion. Submissions can be made in either English or German and should
comprise 8 to 12 pages (including all figures, tables, and references).
Submissions should be made until 04/24/2011 (11:59 pm GMT +1).
Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings as part of
the 'Lecture Notes in Informatics (LNI)' series. All submissions must be
made following the respective formatting and style guidelines:
http://www.gi.de/fileadmin/redaktion/Autorenrichtlinien/guidelines.pdf
Submissions will be made via the EasyChair system. When handing in, you will
be asked to select the respective workshop before entering authors and
affiliations. Once completed, please upload your article in PDF format:

Target Group:
The 3EP workshop provides a forum for both academics and practitioners for
mutual exchange and inspiration. Submissions from computer science as well
as from information systems will provide a complementary view on the issue
of platforms in business networks. Authors that look at the phenomenon from
adjacent discipline, such as sociology or law, are equally welcome and
encouraged to contribute respective submissions.
Through this interdisciplinary approach, 3EP intends to integrate the
various theoretical and empirical perspectives on the phenomenon. The
participation of practitioners will help to gear the workshop?s results
towards relevance and applicability on practice.

presentations of contributed research papers and an industrial
track with the participation of top researchers from industry.
ECOWS 2011 will also include a PhD symposium and satellite
workshops.
----------
Background
----------
The success encountered by the Web has shown that tightly
coupled software systems are only good for niche markets,
whereas loosely coupled software systems can be more flexible,
more adaptive and often more appropriate in practice. Loose
coupling makes it easier for a given system to interact with
other systems, possibly legacy systems that share very little
with it. Web services are at the crossing of distributed
computing and loosely coupled systems. When applications are
developed with service-oriented architectures, they can evolve
more easily during their lifespan and adapt better to changing
or even unpredictable environments. Services today can be
implemented such that they are discovered and invoked
dynamically using non-proprietary mechanisms. Such services
are developed and deployed in a black-box manner. This is of
particular importance from a business perspective since
services are implemented in a variety of technologies.
Essential is agreement on integration technology and consensus
has emerged in today's middleware market: Customers want
to use Web technologies. Despite these promises, however,
service integrators, developers, and providers need to create
methods, tools and techniques to support cost-effective
development and use of dependable services and service-oriented
applications.
