Workshop Description
Data stream mining gained in importance over the last years because it is
indispensable for many real applications such as prediction and evolution of
weather phenomena; security and anomaly detection in networks; evaluating
satellite data; and mining health monitoring streams. Stream mining algorithms
must take account of the unique properties of stream data: infinite data,
temporal ordering, concept drifts and shifts, demand for scalability etc.
Research on stream learning seems to be scattered along the many application
areas (e.g., sensor data mining, log mining, document stream mining). With this
workshop, we attempt to bring together the advances on those complementary
areas.
Proceedings will be included in KDD2010 CD Proceedings and
the ACM Digital Library. The best paper will be published by KDD Explorations.
Topics
* Clustering and classification on streams
* Probabilistic modeling on dynamic data
* Frequent itemset discovery on streams
* Dealing with concept drift
* Change and novelty detection on streams
* Scalable stream mining algorithms

* Security
* Assisted living
* Patient monitoring
* Traffic monitoring
* Recommendation engines
* Customer lifetime management

ABOUT ALMERIA:
The highest number of sunshine hours in Europe is recorded annually in the
Province of Almeria which with its pristine atmosphere and clear skies was a
natural selection for the only dessert in Europe. Inland, Almeria has an
almost lunar landscape of desert, sandstone and dried up riverbeds and has
long been a popular choice for filming American style spaghetti westerns;
(The all time Peter O'Toole classic, Lawrence of Arabia was also shot here).
The coast:
The clear blue Mediterranean can be enjoyed with its miles of sandy beaches
enhanced against the spectacular backdrop of mountains. There is a stark
grandeur to the local scenery with its arid plain, dry riverbeds, hills and
mountains, interspersed with fertile zones of olive and almond trees, orange
and lemon groves.
This area has been colonised by all the great Mediterranean peoples from the
Phoenicians, the Carthaginians and the Romans to the Moors who were in
occupation for some 800 years, creating a wealth of culture and knowledge
and leaving relics and ruins which are among the wonders of the world. The
tropical climate and the Moors heritage make a particular style of food and
Flamenco that you will enjoy.
There are many places of interest and a large number of activities to be
enjoyed in Almeria. However, the beauty of it is that you can make it as
active or as relaxing as you wish during your stay!

(annual meeting of the GI in 2008) and 2nd Workshop (2009 in Lübeck) a
Dagstuhl Perspectives Seminar took place in January 2010. This is the
call for papers of the 3rd Workshop on Digital Social Networks. An
overview of the past events can be found on the website
http://www.digitale-soziale-netze.de.
Topic: Social relations and the resulting social networks are an
important basis for social and technological development. With the
technologies and concepts of Web 2.0, new digital forms of support are
available for a development of participatory social networks. Social
Software and Social Media as new form of cooperation systems enable new
modes of collaboration. The economic success of portals illustrates the
demand for such solutions as well as the difficulty of a proper economic
evaluation. From the point of view of the user, questions of privacy,
data protection and identity theft are getting more important. Users of
several systems need interoperability and data exchange. Besides purely
technological questions also topics of media presence in open and semi
open forums and sociological phenomena are becoming relevant. With
ubiquitous access to human communication acts on these platforms new
possibilities for analyzing social networks become possible - up to the
prognosis of social trends.
Specific Issues: The workshop on digital social networks will analyze
these issues from theoretical and practical points of view.
Contributions are solicited on these topics:
- Social software and "social media"
- Social search engines and aggregators

Call for Papers HICSS-44: Minitrack Proposal (within DT):
"Intelligent Decision Support for Logistics and Supply Chain Management"
Part of the Decision Technologies and Service Sciences Track
FORTY-Fourth ANNUAL HAWAI'I INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON SYSTEM SCIENCES
(HICSS-44)
January 4-7, 2011 (Tuesday - Friday)
Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa
-------------------------
Minitrack Co-Chairs
Andreas Fink, Helmut-Schmidt-University Hamburg, Germany Hans-Jürgen
Sebastian, RWTH Aachen University, Germany Stefan Voß, University of
Hamburg, Germany (primary contact person)
Topics description
The minitrack features theoretical developments, real-world applications
and software solutions related to solving decision problems in logistics
and supply chain management. Methods include optimization, heuristics
and meta-heuristics, simulation, agent technologies, and descriptive
methods.
Minitrack Description
Information technology (IT) is a prerequisite for successful supply
chain management (SCM) today and will become even more so in near
future. The logistics and SCM field is developing very dynamically.
Business-to-business transactions are made via the Internet and
enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems that manage the transactional
information within the enterprise. While IT systems are vital components
in supply chains, their successful management rests on intelligent and
coordinated decision making throughout the logistics network.
Intelligent decision support using advanced decision technologies are
becoming increasingly important in logistics and SCM. Data warehouses
and data mining can be used to store and analyze product, inventory, and
sales information. Simulation and optimization, which can be found in
advanced planning and scheduling systems, can be employed for, e.g.,
inventory, production, procurement, and distribution planning.
Intelligent agents can e.g. communicate with different partners in the
supply chain, assist in collecting information, share product
information, negotiate prices, and distribute alerts throughout the
logistics networks. The design and implementation of intelligent
decision technologies to support human agents in logistics and SCM is a
very active field in research, consulting and software development. Many
such technologies or systems have been implemented recently or are
currently in the stage of implementation. We do, therefore, believe that
this minitrack will be recognized by both the scientific community and
practitioners developing or using logistics and SCM solutions.
We aim again at organizing a minitrack consisting of two or three
sessions depending on the number of high quality submissions. We seek
papers dealing with decision technologies which contribute to
intelligent decision support in the whole field of logistics and in
particular in all categories of SCM. This includes but is not restricted
to simulation, optimization, heuristics, metaheuristics, agent
technologies, descriptive models, data warehousing, and data mining. We
are especially interested in real-world applications and in software
solutions which assist in solving decision problems. This is extended
towards, e.g., advanced planning systems and the intelligent use of
enterprise resource planning systems. Also conceptual ideas, reports on
projects in progress, and case studies are welcome. Moreover, teaching
cases both at the university as well as the executive level may be of
interest.

CALL FOR PAPERS
*********************************************************************
6th International Conference on Security and
Privacy in Communication Networks (SecureComm '10)
September 7-10, 2010, Singapore
http://www.securecomm.org/
*********************************************************************
SecureComm'10 seeks high-quality research contributions in the form
of well developed papers. Topics of interest encompass research
advances in ALL areas of secure communications and networking.
Topics in other areas (e.g., formal methods, database security,
secure software, applied cryptography) will also be considered if
a clear connection to private or secure communications/networking
is demonstrated.
The aim of SecureComm is to bring together security and privacy
experts in academia, industry and government as well as
practitioners, standards developers and policy makers, in order to
engage in a discussion about common goals and explore important
research directions in the field. SecureComm also serves as a venue
for learning about state-of-the-art in security and privacy research,
giving attendees the opportunity to network with experts in the field.
Selected papers will be published at a special issue of IJIS
(International Journal of Information Security, Springer).
INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS
All submissions will be blind reviewed. The paper must be anonymous,
with no author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or obvious
references. It should begin with a title, a short abstract, and a
list of keywords. Submissions must not substantially duplicate work
that was published elsewhere, or work that any of the authors has
submitted in parallel to any other conference or workshop
that has proceedings.
SecureComm'10 proceedings will be published in Springer's LNICST
(http://www.springer.com/computer?SGWID=0-146-6-564009-0). The final
proceedings version will be a paper of at most 18 pages in the
llncs style, which corresponds to around 7000 words of text.
The document submitted (excluding appendices) should correspond to
what the authors expect to be published if their paper is accepted
without modification. We therefore strongly recommend that authors
check whether their paper (without appendices) will fit within the
above llncs space constraints. Committee members are not required to
review more than that, so the paper should be intelligible and
self-contained within this length. Submissions not meeting these
guidelines risk rejection without consideration of their merits.
Authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their paper will be
presented at the conference.
WORKSHOPS
Proposals for one-day workshops to be held in conjunction with the
conference are solicited. A maximum of 2 page proposal should be
submitted, including the workshop name, its scope and a list of topic
of interests. Proposals should be submitted to Workshop Chair by
April 5, 2010. (Check the info at
http://manual.icst.org/index.php?page=workshop-chair.)
TUTORIALS/DEMOS
Proposals for tutorials as well as demos are solicited.
Please contact General Chair by May 31, 2009. (Check the info at

The 11th IEEE International Conference on Information
Reuse and Integration (IEEE IRI-2010)
Tuscany Suites& Casino, Las Vegas, USA
August 4-6, 2010
http://www.sis.pitt.edu/~iri2010/
The increasing volumes and dimensions of information have dramatic
impact on effective decision-making. To remedy this situation,
Information Reuse and Integration (IRI) seeks to maximize the reuse
of information by creating simple, rich, and reusable knowledge
representations and consequently explores strategies for integrating
this knowledge into legacy systems. IRI plays a pivotal role in the
capture, representation, maintenance, integration, validation, and
extrapolation of information; and applies both information and
knowledge for enhancing decision-making in various application
domains. This conference explores three major tracks: information
reuse, information integration, and reusable systems. Information
reuse considers optimizing representation methodologies; information
integration studies strategies for creatively applying models in
novel domains; and reusable systems focus on ontological
opportunities for deploying models and corresponding processes.
The IEEE IRI conference serves as a forum for researchers and
practitioners from academia, industry, and government to present,
discuss, and exchange ideas that address real-world problems with
real-world solutions. The conference feature contributed and
invited papers. Theoretical and applied papers are both included.
The conference program will include special sessions, open forum
workshops, and keynote speeches. A forum will be conducted with
the intent of bridging IRI and Systems of Systems and why the future
