Call for Papers
***********************************************************************
Workshop on Novel Data Stream Pattern Mining Techniques (StreamKDD)
held in conjunction with the 16th ACM SIGKDD International Conference
on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD-2010),
July 25-28, 2010 in Washington, DC.
URL: http://lyle.smu.edu/IDA/StreamKDD2010/
***********************************************************************
Submission Deadline: May 4, 2010
Workshop Description
Data stream mining gained in importance over the last years because it is
indispensable for many real applications such as prediction and evolution of
weather phenomena; security and anomaly detection in networks; evaluating
satellite data; and mining health monitoring streams. Stream mining algorithms
must take account of the unique properties of stream data: infinite data,
temporal ordering, concept drifts and shifts, demand for scalability etc.
Research on stream learning seems to be scattered along the many application
areas (e.g., sensor data mining, log mining, document stream mining). With this
workshop, we attempt to bring together the advances on those complementary
areas.
Proceedings will be included in the ACM Digital Library and the best
paper will be published by KDD Explorations.
Topics
* Clustering and classification on streams
* Probabilistic modeling on dynamic data
* Frequent itemset discovery on streams
* Dealing with concept drift
* Change and novelty detection on streams
* Scalable stream mining algorithms
* Visual analytics on streams
We particularly solicit works for challenging application areas, such as:
* Security
* Assisted living
* Patient monitoring
* Traffic monitoring
* Recommendation engines
* Customer lifetime management

CLOUD COMPUTING TAGEN 2010
vom 13. bis 15. April 2010 in Hamburg, Frankfurt oder Stuttgart

Call for Papers and Posters
5th European Young Researchers Workshop on Service Oriented Computing
(yrsoc.org)
in conjunction with Karlsruhe Service Summer (service-summer.org)
16-17th July 2010, Karlsruhe, Germany
Dear colleagues (with apologies for cross-posting),
You are invited to submit research papers to the 5th European Young
Researchers Workshop on Service Oriented Computing to be held as part of
the Karlsruhe Service Summer. We are pleased to announce that this
year's workshop will immediately precede the 1st Karlsruhe Summer School
on Service Research, and young researchers are encouraged to consider
attending the events in conjunction, though the workshop registration is
open.
The YRSOC workshop series is designed to bring together PhD students,
junior researchers working in the industry and those who completed their
doctoral studies within the past few years. The aim of the workshop is
to build a reputable and respectable forum for junior researchers with
inputs from industry practitioners. The core objectives are to exchange
information regarding advancements in the state of the art and practice
of SOC, as well as to identify the emerging research topics and define
the future trends in this domain.
YR-SOC presentations will be selected according to originality,
significance, and general interest. Two types of submissions are sought:
Papers in the range of 5-15 pages and posters in the form of 2-5 page
abstracts. The workshop's preproceedings with the accepted papers and
poster abstracts will be available at the workshop.
Authors must clearly explain the contribution of their work in terms of
its theoretical and/or practical value, as well as its relationships
with the related literature. Papers must be written in English, and
should also include an abstract and a list of key words. Papers must
submitted in PDF form through EasyChair
(http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=yrsoc2010).
Scope
-------
Service oriented computing is more than just ideas related to services
in themselves: in particular it is a chance to bring together the
business/user domain and the services domain. The word 'service'
encompasses web services, semantic web services, grid services and
e-services.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Mathematical foundations of SOC
* XaaS (Software as a Service, Platform as a Service, Network as a
Service, etc.)
* Cloud Computing and Services
* Internet of Services and interactions with other aspects of
Future Internet (e.g. Internet of Things)
* Service Engineering
