and Applications (COCOA'07) will be held during August 12--15, 2007, in Xi'an,
Shaanxi, China. Original research papers in the areas of combinatorial
optimization and its applications are solicited. In addition to theoretical
results, we are particularly interested in submissions that report on
experimental and applied research of general algorithmic interest. Special
consideration will be given to research that is motivated by real-world
problems. Experimental and applied papers are expected to show convincingly
the usefulness and efficiency of the algorithms discussed in a practical
setting. After the conference, some selected papers will be published
as a special issue in the Journal of Combinatorial Optimization.
Typical, but not exclusive, topics of interest include:
Algorithms and data structures
Approximation Algorithms
Computational Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory
Computational Biology and bioinformatics
Computational Financing
Computational Game Theory
Computational Learning Theory
Extreme graph theory
Graph theory, communication networks

Submissions: COCOA'07 will only accept electronic submissions through
the Easychair submission system. The detailed instructions can be checked
http://www.easychair.org/COCOA07. A submission should start with the title
of the paper, the author's name, affiliation, and e-mail address,
and a short abstract summarizing the main results of the paper. This should
be followed by a scholarly exposition of the ideas, techniques, and a full
description of the results achieved. A clear indication of the motivation
and comparison with prior or related work should be presented. The paper
should not exceed 10 pages using 11 point or larger font. Submissions that
deviate significantly from these guidelines and electronic submissions
that are unprintable or formatted for paper size other than 8.5 by 11
inch paper risk rejection without consideration of their merits.
We are contacting Springer-LNCS to have the proceedings of the conference
published in a timely fashion.

The 5th INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON INTERNET COMMUNICATIONS SECURITY
WICS'07 (http://aspects.uc3m.es/wics07)
(in conjuction with DEXA 2007 Conference)
Overview
--------
With the advent of Web and its increasing dominant force in
industry and commerce,
the Internet has become not only a communications means, but also a
key tool for
businesses, research and social development. Nowadays it is possible
for us to file our
tax report, buy books and CD's from a vendor in another continent and
even download
multimedia content to out TV, thanks to the use of those information
networks. However, the more information is being transmitted, the more
probable is that we are interested
in providing that communication with some type of security (let it be
confidentiality,
authenticity, non-repudiation, etc...) Furthermore, with the emergence of new
technologies and devices that are capable of getting access to the
Internet, we are also
looking for solutions that allow these devices to secure the
information they transmit
in a similar way that it is done with personal computers.
The 2007 International Workshop on Internet Communications Security
reaches its fifth
edition and it will run in conjunction with the International
Conference on Database and
Expert Systems Applications (DEXA 2007).
Scope
-----
Original research papers on all technical aspects of Internet
security are solicited
for submission to WICS 07. Topics of relevance include but are not
limited to:
Authentication and authorization
Intrusion detection and response
Biometrics
Key management
Computer Forensics
Mobile communications security
Cryptography and its applications
Network security
Security Interoperability
E-Commerce security
Non repudiation
Information Assurance
Security protocols

computer interaction, brain computer interaction, gaming, and interactive digital arts,
as well as in healthcare and patient monitoring. Despite the recent technological
developments in sensing, embedded electronics, and sensor networking, several
challenging issues need to be addressed. In particular, technological scaling, wireless
communication and networking, sensor data processing and presentation are key aspects
that need to be investigated in an integrated fashion for enabling visionary applications in the above areas of WSN.

---------------------------------------------------
Dear Colleagues,
Call for Papers
International Journal of Computational Science (http://www.gip.hk/ijcs/)
Computational science is an emerging and promising discipline in shaping future research and development activities in both academia and industry, in fields ranging from engineering, science, finance, and economics, to arts and humanities. New challenges arise in the modeling of complex systems, sophisticated algorithms, advanced scientific and engineering computing and associated (multidisciplinary) problem-solving environments. Because the solution of large and complex problems must cope with tight timing schedules, powerful algorithms and computational techniques, are inevitable.
The International Journal of Computational Science addresses the state of the art of all aspects of Computational Science with emphasis on computational methods and techniques for science and engineering applications. For this, the International Journal of Computational Science will focus on publishing articles describing recent fundamental contributions in the field of Computational Science. Computational Mathematics, Scientific and Engineering Computing, Computer Science, and their applications are the essential topics being covered. The main goals of establishing this journal reflect the following two-fold:
(a) To provide an outstanding channel for researchers and scientists from Computational Mathematics and Computer Science as basic computing disciplines, researchers from various application areas who are pioneering advanced application of computational methods to sciences, engineering, arts and humanities fields, along with software developers and vendors, to contribute and to disseminate innovative and important new work, and to shape future directions for research, as well as to help industrial professionals apply various advanced computational methods and techniques.
(b) To provide rapid review and publication of important research results in all fields of Computational Science. In order to substantially reduce the time to publication as compared to traditional journals, we have established the following policies within the editorial board for processing a submitted paper:
(1) Each papers will be reviewed by at least three independent experts;
(2) The submission will be sent out to review in 3 days;
(3) Reviewers will return the review comments within 21 days after receiving the paper;
(4) The final decision for each submission will be made within one month;
(5) If an author is willing to revise his paper promptly, then a 3-4 month submission-to-
publication period is realistic.
The International Journal of Computational Science invites original contributions on all topics related to computational science, including, but not limited to:
Advanced Numerical Algorithms
Scientific and Engineering Computing
Hybrid Computational Methods
Complex Systems: Modeling and Simulation
