Reply-To: Herrmann, Thomas <thomas.herrmann(a)ruhr-uni-bochum.de>
To: WI(a)lists.kit.edu <WI(a)lists.kit.edu>
CC: Degen, Helmut <helmut.degen(a)siemens.com>
[Our apologies if you receive multiple copies of this call]
We invite contributions for the WI22-halfday-Workshop on Design- and
specification methods for efficient user
Involvement (see https://www.wi22.eu/workshops/
<https://eur01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.wi22.…>
) – 23^rd February 22 in Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany
Deadlines:
* *Submission deadline for abstracts (800 words)*: _19 November 2021_
* *Review Feedback*: 03 December 2021
* *Submission of camera-ready version*: _22 January 2021_
Background and Topic:
Users are increasingly involved in semi-automated, parallel executed
processes, and perceive current waiting times and system requests for
user decisions as unnecessarily long or as unnecessary at all.
…it is beneficial to minimize mandatory user involvement in the design
process and, at the same time, to keep the user sufficiently in control
of the process and its outcome.
… We need new metrics and methods which can express, define and specify
user involvement related performance goals which can be systematically
considered in a design and development project from the very beginning.
… The new methods of design for efficiency have to take into account
that the ways users are involved has changed over the last thirty years:
·*Users use several devices in different use contexts *
·*User involvement includes a variety of interaction modes*
·*Several user roles contribute to a value chain*
·*Performing several user tasks in parallel*
Submissions should address at least one of the following aspects:
* Metric to specify the efficiency or performance for user involvement
* Measurements methods, techniques, and tools
* Model dependencies between involvement of different user roles and
user task along a value chain (for an eco-system)
* Consideration of various types of user involvement, such as fine
grained interaction or user intervention.
* Modeling of multiple user contexts
* Modeling of changing user tasks and situational awareness

(*** Submission Deadline Extended to November 21st ***)
Scope
Service-oriented and cloud computing have made a huge impact both on the
software
industry and on the research community. Today, service and cloud
technologies are
applied to build large-scale software landscapes as well as to provide
single software
services to end users. Services today are independently developed and
deployed as
well as freely composed while they can be implemented in a variety of
technologies, a
quite important fact from a business perspective. Similarly, cloud
computing aims at enabling flexibility by offering a centralised sharing
of resources. The industry's need
for agile and flexible software and IT systems has made cloud computing
the dominating paradigm for provisioning computational resources in a
scalable, on-
demand fashion. Nevertheless, service developers, providers, and
integrators still need to create methods, tools and techniques to
support cost-effective and secure development as well as use of
dependable devices, platforms, services and service-
oriented applications in the cloud.
The European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing (ESOCC)
is the premier conference on advances in the state of the art and
practice of service-
oriented computing and cloud computing in Europe. The main objectives of
this conference are to facilitate the exchange between researchers and
practitioners in the

DIRL Version 4.0 Released
As per November 1, 2021, version 4.0 of the Disaster Information
Reference Library
(DIRL)<http://faculty.washington.edu/jscholl/dirl/index.php> has been
released, which is about two weeks ahead of the original schedule
(November 15). The library now contains 3,933 references of
predominantly English-language, peer-reviewed work in the study domains
of disaster information and information technologies and their uses in
the context of disasters. This represents an increase over the previous
version of 423 references, or 11.4%. The DIRL release
history<http://faculty.washington.edu/jscholl/dirl/history.php> reveals
that from the inaugural DIRL version 1.0 to this version (DIRL v. 4.0),
the peer-reviewed academic literature has almost quadrupled in the
course of little over four years. This is a remarkable increase of the
body of academic knowledge in the particular area of disaster
information management and disaster information technology within a
relatively short period of time.
The DIRL is intended to become an indispensable tool for Disaster
Information and Technology-interested scholars. In particular, reviewers
of paper submissions may want to rely on this reference library.
Packaged in a zip file, bibTeX<http://www.bibtex.org/>,
RIS<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RIS_(file_format)> as well as an
Endnote package (enlp) versions are available.

Content Description of CIISR
“Compliance“ refers to rule adherence, i.e., acting in accordance with
applicable rules originating from various sources, including laws,
standards, contracts, guidelines, etc. [1, 2]. Compliance has been a
relevant topic in Information Systems Research (ISR) for several
decades, whose initial focus was primarily on the (semi-)automated
support in ensuring and validating rule conformity [3–5].
The Second International Workshop on Current Compliance Issues in
Information Systems Research (CIISR 2022) will take place on 20 February
2022, in conjunction with the 17th International Conference on
Wirtschaftsinformatik (WI2022). Based on the conference’s central theme–
“Grand Challenges for Business Informatic“ –the workshop will discuss
current compliance issues with high relevance to the ISR area.
Nowadays, compliance is approached from a variety of different
perspectives. For instance, as part of information security management,
it is examined which operational compliance measures result in desired
employee behavior [6, 7]. In the context of cloud computing, it is
examined how compliance with service level agreements can be ensured in
hybrid cloud architectures [8, 9]. In the context of business process
management, it is examined how automation can be achieved by means of
deep learning and thus contribute to compliance with quality management
standards [10]. In addition, it is examined how the compliance of
business processes can be ensured sustainably and economically in
digitalized and electronic markets [11–13].
These and many other current aspects of compliance are discussed at the
CIISR workshop. The workshop offers scientists, practitioners, and
further interested parties, a basic program including three speeches on
current compliance issues in information security, cloud computing, and
business process management. Furthermore, we cordially invite you to
submit and present your completed research papers, short papers, or
extended abstracts relevant to the workshop topic. We welcome practical
contributions, empirical studies, systematic literature analyses, as
well as research papers following the design science research paradigm.
The topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Ensuring compliance with information security policies
* Management of data breaches
* Effectiveness of information security management standards
* Information security under consideration of social factors or in
cross-organizational contexts
* …
Compliance issues in cloud contexts
* Ensuring compliance despite the use of hybrid clouds
* Compliance with service level agreements and qualities of service
* …
Ensuring business process compliance
* Business process compliance in the context of outsourcing or in
consideration of economic/social factors
Compliance issues related to process mining
* …
Current issues of IT compliance
* The influence of current IT-related legal regulations (e.g., the
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the second Payment Services
Directive (PSD2), etc.) on the operations of companies, (government)
institutions, …
* IT compliance and nudging
* …
The investigation of compliance issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic
in the ISR sector
Contributions addressing other workshop-relevant topics are also welcome!
Format of CIISR
* Tba
The target group of the CIISR workshop includes academics whose research
focus is on current compliance issues, practitioners working in the
field of compliance, and all other interested parties. On the one hand,
the workshop serves to discuss current trends and new research results
by and with (senior) representatives from science and practice. On the
other hand, the workshop aims to give young scientists and doctoral
students the opportunity to present early research results.
Interested participants can also register for participation in the
workshop without submitting a contribution.
Submission Types, Submission Instructions, and Formalities
We welcome submissions to the CIISR workshop on the above-mentioned
topics written in English. For this purpose, we offer three submission
types:
1. Completed research papers/complete practical reports
This submission type includes both advanced research with at least
partial evaluation and comprehensive practical contributions.
2. Short papers (research in progress papers/short practical reports)
Short papers represent ongoing research or ongoing practical projects.
In addition to presenting initial results, these papers should also
contain an outlook on further research or further project progress,
including planned future work steps.
3. Extended abstracts
Extended abstracts present and discuss high-quality results of already
published contributions (or dissertations/postdoctoral theses) relevant
to the workshop topic.
Completed research contributions and complete practical reports must not
exceed 12 pages, short papers must not exceed six pages, and extended
abstracts must not exceed four pages, including title, abstract,
bibliography, author details, and acknowledgments. Possible appendices
are not included in the pagination!
When formatting your submissions, please use the official WI2022
template, which can be downloaded using the following link:
https://www.wi22.eu/call-for-papers-en/
Please submit your articles directly via the ConfTool of the WI2022:
https://www.conftool.pro/wi22/
If you do not yet have an account, you first have to register for the
ConfTool of the WI2022. Already registered users can log in directly,
then press “Your Submissions“ and finally select the CIISR Workshop.
Except for extended abstracts, the submission of contributions must be
made in anonymized form, i.e., all information that would allow the
authors to be identified must be removed or blinded (e.g., author names,
citations of preliminary works, project names). Each submission will be
reviewed double-blind. The authors’ information will be added after the
acceptance notification.
All accepted contributions will be published in an open-access workshop
volume and must be presented and discussed by at least one author during
the CIISR workshop. For completed research papers and complete practical
reports, a (tentative) presentation time of about 20 minutes and a
discussion time of about 10 minutes is planned. Short papers and
extended abstracts will have a (tentative) presentation time of about 15
minutes and a discussion time of about 5 minutes.

tools, etc., focused on some topics of the conference. These papers are
assigned to a 4-page limit.
Submitted papers must comply with the format of Advances in Intelligent
Systems and Computing Series (see Instructions for Authors at Springer
Website), be written in English, must not have been published before, not
be under review for any other conference or publication and not include any
information leading to the authors’ identification. Therefore, the authors’
names, affiliations and bibliographic references should not be included in
the version for evaluation by the Program Committee. This information
should only be included in the camera-ready version, saved in Word or Latex
format and also in PDF format. These files must be accompanied by the
Consent to Publish form filled out, in a ZIP file, and uploaded at the
conference management system.
All papers will be subjected to a “double-blind review” by at least two
members of the Program Committee.
Based on Program Committee evaluation, a paper can be rejected or accepted
by the Conference Chairs. In the later case, it can be accepted as the type
originally submitted or as another type. Thus, full papers can be accepted
as short papers or poster papers only. Similarly, short papers can be
accepted as poster papers only.
Poster papers and Company papers are not published in the Conference
Proceedings, being only presented and discussed. The authors of accepted
poster papers should build and print a poster to be exhibited during the
Conference. This poster must follow an A1 or A2 vertical format. The
Conference includes Work Sessions where these posters are presented and
orally discussed, with a 7 minute limit per poster.
The authors of accepted Full papers will have 15 minutes to present their
work in a Conference Work Session; approximately 5 minutes of discussion
will follow each presentation. The authors of accepted Short papers and
Company papers will have 11 minutes to present their work in a Conference
Work Session; approximately 4 minutes of discussion will follow each
presentation.
PUBLICATION & INDEXING
To ensure that a full paper or short paper is published, poster paper or
company paper is presented, at least one of the authors must be fully
registered by the 8nd of January 2022, and the paper must comply with the
suggested layout and page-limit. Additionally, all recommended changes must
be addressed by the authors before they submit the camera-ready version.
No more than one paper per registration will be published. An extra fee
