Information & Communication Technology (ICT) advances (such as big data, machine learning, internet of the things) are fueling the smart services evolution. Smart services enable customers not only to be offered personalized experiences at the right place, time and context, but they also empower customers to co-design and configure services according to their individual preferences, needs and expectations. Smart services enable firms to enhance their competitiveness by more effectively and pro-actively responding to the tourists’ needs. At a macro level, smart services contribute to the attractiveness and competitiveness of regions, as well as to sustainable living and development, and to the well-being of local communities.
Smart services are based on ICT and the data collected and analysed by ICT, which represent the oil of the smart economy. However, designing smart services is not a sole ICT problem. Instead, the effective provision of smart services requires: a customer-centered perspective on services and service design, including novel theoretical lenses and approaches to human behavior, culture, attitudes, profiling, decision-making; development on human and social capital, creative thinking and open innovation; appropriate ICT infrastructure and systems as well as new approaches for understanding the dynamics and the ways to integrate technologies with socio-cultural systems and institutions and design effective smart service ecosystems; new theories for understanding and predicting the processes and the factors enabling and/or inhibiting the various actors to interact and exchange resources within smart ecosystems with the purpose to co-create value; and innovative and transformational business models and strategies enabling firms to exploit the revolution of smart services.
This special issue aims to contribute to our understanding about the design, impacts, and socio-technical enablers and inhibitors of smart services at both a micro-firm and macro-ecosystem level. Special interest is also given to the continuously evolving and dynamic role of smart services in empowering smart consumers and enabling smart customer experiences.
Given the important role of smart services in tourism, hospitality and travel, papers in this industry are particularly welcome. The special issue also welcomes theoretical, empirical, experimental, and case study research contributions. The special issue will also aim to publish PhD student research methodology papers - (4000-5000 words) - innovative methodologies used to study smart services. All contributions should clearly address the practical and theoretical implications of the research reported.backgrounds.
Topics of interest included, but they are not limited:
- smart transformations: innovation, creativity and business models for smart services
- Smart disruptive technologies
- social, technological, economic smartness
- smart value co-creation
- smart region technologies and Open Innovation
- Internet of Everything, Big Data and Analytics for smart services
- service design of smart services

Christine Legner, HEC Lausanne
Boris Otto, Fraunhofer ISST / TU Dortmund
*Inhalt*
Digitalisierung, allgegenwärtige Datenverarbeitung, autonomes Fahren,
Liefernetze, datenzentrierte Geschäftsmodelle, Business Analytics, Big
Data und andere Trends setzen inner- und überbetriebliches
Datenmanagement voraus.
erweiterbaren Ontologien („Linked Data“) entstehen umfassende
Dateninfrastrukturen.
(„Data-as-Service“)

CALL FOR POSITION PAPERS
6th International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software
Development
Submission Deadline: *September 29, 2017 *
*http://www.modelsward.org/* <%20http://www.modelsward.org/>
January 22 - 24, 2018
Funchal, Madeira - Portugal
*What is a position paper? *
A position paper presents an arguable opinion about an issue. The goal
of a position paper is to convince the audience that your opinion is
valid and worth listening to, without the need to present completed
research work and/or validated results.
The purpose of the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering
and Software Development, MODELSWARD 2018, is to provide a platform for
researchers, engineers, academicians as well as industrial professionals
from all over the world to present their research results and
development activities in using models and model driven engineering
techniques for Software Development. Model-Driven Development (MDD) is
an approach to the development of IT systems in which models take a
central role, not only for analysis of these systems but also for their
construction. MDD has emerged from modelling initiatives, most
prominently the Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) fostered by the Object
Management Group (OMG). In the scope of MDA, a couple of technologies
have been developed that became the cornerstones of MDD, like
metamodelling and model transformations. MDD relies on languages for
defining metamodels, like the Meta-Object Facility (MOF) and Ecore
(developed in the scope of the Eclipse Modelling Framework), and
transformation specification languages like QVT and ATL.
*MODELSWARD is organized in 3 major tracks: *

Betreff: [WI] CfP: MKWI 2018 - Teilkonferenz Unternehmenssoftware in

CfP: MKWI 2018 - Teilkonferenz Unternehmenssoftware in der Ära der
Digitalisierung
aufgabenspezifische Systeme. Daraus resultieren heute, trotz vieler
Konsolidierungsanstrengungen in der Vergangenheit, recht heterogene und
komplexe Softwarelandschaften bestehend aus verschiedenen
Unternehmenssoftwarearten und
-bausteinen (CRM, SRM, SCM, funktionsorientierte Komponenten) mit hohen
Integrationsanforderungen untereinander und in technologisch sowie
benutzerseitig anders ausgerichtete Softwarewelten hinein (Groupware,
Social Media). Berücksichtigt man zudem noch die Möglichkeiten neuer
Betriebsmodelle aus der Cloud („on demand“, „as a service“), führt dies
vorzustellen.
*Mögliche Themen für Beiträge*
•Neue Projekt- oder IT-Management-Ansätze in Bezug auf
Anwendungssystemlandschaften (z.B. bimodale IT, two-speed IT, Lean
IT-Management)
•Kritische Erfolgs- und Fehlerfaktoren, Risikomanagement von Projekten
der Unternehmenssoftwareeinführung und -integration, speziell in enger
Verbindung mit der digitalen Transformation
•Einfluss von (digitalen) Unternehmensstrategien auf
Anwendungssystemlandschaften
•Unternehmensübergreifende Integration von Anwendungssystemen im
digitalen Zeitalter
•Herausforderungen von Cyber-Physical-Networks
•ERP und Industrie 4.0
•ERP on Demand, ERP-as-a-Service, ERP aus der Cloud, Mobile ERP
•Einfluss technologischer Innovationen (z.B. in Memory Computing,
Augmented Reality, 3D-Druck)
•Wandlungsfähigkeit von Unternehmenssoftware
•Erweiterung von Unternehmenssoftware um Kollaborationstechnologien
•Einfluss von Unternehmenssoftware auf die Unternehmenskultur
•Usability unternehmensweiter und unternehmensübergreifender
Anwendungssysteme

Betreff: [AISWorld] JITCAR, Special Issue on PLATFORM ECOSYSTEMS

Dear Researchers,
Call for Papers
Special Issue on PLATFORM ECOSYSTEMS
Journal of Information Technology Case and Application Research (JITCAR)
Please visit: http://explore.tandfonline.com/cfp/pgas/utca-cfp-
platform-ecosystems
*Special Issue on Platform Ecosystems*
Platforms have become central to many industries today. They create a new
blueprint for competition as they not only facilitate formation of new
products and services but also shape business models, impact strategies,
and transform entire industries. A platform is a foundation on which third
parties can build complementary product or service. Hence, for meeting the
requirements of heterogeneous users and exploit network effects, platform
owners encourage complementary innovation from the outside resources such
as customers, research companies, business partners and universities. Such
approach of complementary innovation has given rise to the platform
ecosystem model.
Platform ecosystems are comprised of externally produced complements that
augment the platform capabilities. Ecosystem leaders usually do not possess
formal authority over application developers, but work with them in a loose
manner. Platform-based technologies such as personal computers, video game
consoles, and mobile computing systems are vital in the information economy.
The crucial challenge for platform providers is to constantly sustain and
foster an innovative ecosystem around their platform. Moreover,
contemporary literature lacks the case studies providing fruitful insights
into the phenomenon of platform ecosystem. The aim of this special issue is
to publish cutting-edge research to enhance the understanding of the
challenges, opportunities, strategies, and architecture of the platform
ecosystem.
Example of Topics of interest for the special issue include, but are not
limited to:
• Platform businesses versus product/service businesses
• Developing platform strategy
• Aligning platform architectures and strategy
• Evolving a platform ecosystem
• Platform ecosystem governance
• Designing and orchestrating software platform ecosystems
• Creating and managing apps for software platforms
• Mobile platform ecosystem
• Case studies on digital aggregators
• Case studies on contemporary platform ecosystems (Mobile computing,
Browser, social networks, publishing, video games, search engines etc.)
This special issue also welcomes Teaching Case articles describing certain
contemporary methods of teaching IT cases that engage students in realistic
business scenarios. For example, a new teaching case could explore the
complex issues involving the transition of technology platforms,
organization and management of new technologies, and importance of
stakeholder commitments in new technology acceptance. Such Teaching Case
articles must be accompanied by a Research Note and a Teaching Note.
*Submission Format and Guidelines*
The research must present one or more well described cases and/or
applications befitting the mission of Journal of IT Case and Application
Research (JITCAR). The case research can be by itself or in conjunction
with an empirical or experimental research. It is important to note that
the submitted papers not only demonstrate issues related to platform
ecosystem, but also advance our current understanding of implications of
platform ecosystem on organizational performance through adoption of
innovative technology and systems.
All submitted papers must be clearly written in English and must contain
only original work, which has not been published by, or is currently under
review for, any other journal, conference, symposium, or workshop.
Manuscripts should explicitly state what is unique and valuable about the
paper within the context of the special issue theme.
*Important Dates:*
Paper Submission: December 1, 2017
First Round Decision: January 30, 2018
Revision Due: March 15, 2018
Final Decision: May 15, 2018
